  • you could't put your time to better use. REALLY REALLY, what if you are trying to solve world hunger?

  • 9:09 O look. The dentist is flipping us off. Well, maybe in 1939 it didn't mean anything back then.

  • Hard 2 believe this film was made in between the days of "Boardwalk Empire" & "Mad Men."

  • 1:07 Lime? As in the fruit or that crap in your shower?

  • Wow. Unless my brain fails me, this was made in 1939? The year World War II began? That's pretty damn old.

  • Oh my god, I didn't know this until I saw it again but the Dentist is not wearing gloves! That is a big Health Safty No-No!

  • Cod Liver Oil....*barf* ....also why did you have to soak your new toothbrush in a cup of water and salt. I was never told to do this by my parents or a dentist back when I was a kid. This is the first time I have heard of this bit of information.

  • @sillygrl23 That's because the typical toothbrush had bristles made from hog's hair. It was only the year before this short was made (1939), the first toothbrush with nylon bristles was introduced. It's amazing when you realize this was long before so many things for dental care came out we take for granted...fluoride, flossing, powered brushes.

  • @tomservo56954 Yeah, it is, they never even mentioned flossing in this video whereas in other dental hygein videos that is always the most common recommendation to do espically after brushing. I think that is what is so amazing about these old educational videos, not because of thier educational content but just the fact that they are like a time capsule in itself for us.

  • 07:11 to 07:14 lighting changes o.O

  • "You couldn't put your time to better use."

"And now a counter-point from the fingernails."

  • I am so glad I did not live in the 1950's, wait, my public school was so broke they still showed us the real versions of stuff like this. **laments**

  • My dentist gives me a free toothbrush.

  • How could you stand this one? It's so boring.

  • That girl is sooo creepy!!!!

  • "We worship you, Amon-Ra!"

Laura Bow 2 reference, by chance?

  • The right kind of food. Served by the right kind of person; a hideous female dwarf from the movie 'Freaks'.

  • The narrator DOES sound like Linus!...and come to think of it, is that narrator a boy or a girl???

"so in that light, Charleston Chews promote dental health"

"with the dipping sauce of your choice"

"you'll know it's working when you draw blood"

  • She leaves the water on when she brushes. We spent a LOT of tile in primary school being lectured about NOT doing that.

  • sometimes your teeth crave the blood of the innocent

  • Ignore the haters. You're almost as good as the original MST! You also have the right voice to match them and give that "I really couldn't care about this film" feel.

  • My GOD the kid's voice is irritating!!!!!!

  • "Good night, kids, and remember: clean teeth don't mean squat when you're beggin' some Jap to spare ya life!"

    Great message for kids.

  • "Exercise..." "Then shouldn't she be hanging by her teeth?"

  • "rinse until you can no longer taste the sin."

  • "Stop drop and roll... and bread."

  • Why were the lessons from 50's, 60's and 70's shorts so fucking rediculous?!

  • This is 1939, actually. So it's TOTALLY not ridiculous. Yep.

  • 1900-1970, all they're shorts were rediculous! XD

  • You know it's working when you draw blood!

    Rabbit fetishism! XD

  • "You might have to skip school, dinner and sleep to accommodate this regiment"

I love that. Such shorts as this often offer recommendations that would take all day to accomplish.

  • Great Don la Fontaine imitation!

  • (Salt scene)

Make sure you bake your brush after seasoning it at 375 degrees.

  • the girl's voice sounds like the singer Brenda Lee, or the woman who played the medium/psychic in the "Poltergeist" movies

"watch Johnny chew the crap outta his food!"

"you know it's working when you draw blood"

"i didn't realize teeth were so susceptible to peer pressure"

'rinse until you can't taste the sin"

  • Zelda Rubinstein played the medium, actually.

  • shouldn't this be called TOOTH be told? HAHA i'm hilarious

  • *dies of laughter*

You're rocking the voice-multiplier special effect... thing. :D

  • So, when you lay face down on the lawn under an umbrella you're helping your teeth, but when you lounge by a river with a hat on your face you're a lazy sod? Teeth are highly context-sensitive, aren't they?

Sunshine...on my toothbrush...makes me hap-py...Sunshine on my grinding surfaces makes me cry...

  • @steveasat2 Not to mention is that a topless swimsuit? Good thing she didn't flip over, or this would qualify for child porn.

  • This movie was created before in studio editing, or viewer interest.

  • Bravo, Josh. Excellent short! I'm glad to see you're being included in the iRiffs thing, I'll have to pick a couple of those up.

  • Good one!

  • You're a dirty old man.

  • This makes me want to get out a toothbrush and beat a dentist with it.

  • *Rolls on the floor with laughter.*

  • "I see London I see France."

    Haha! Too Funny.

  • Dude your new audio "special effects" are awesome.

    "NOT PARTICULARLY"

    "WE WORSHIP YOU AMUN-RA"

  • Man, I keep thinking about skin cancer (back when people would bake in the sun... ugh) and... Is that brushing girl leaving the water on while she brushes? D;

  • She absolutely is.

  • Ah, the days before water preservation, hm?

  • I'm always a little hesitant of folks doing their own MST style riffing but you really nailed it. Great work!

  • You are going to get me in trouble at work, lol. Everyone is wondering what I'm laughing at all the time. Great job!

"And now a counterpoint from the fingernails" -- LOL!

  • haha, nice touch with the multiple overdubbing.

  • This is why I don't want to be a dentist

  • i think theres a midget in the tooth eating all the food

  • Good god this is hilarious. As a hopelessly obsessed MST3K fan I was skeptical at first, but you are just brilliant. I love all of your work!

  • You're too kind, Tybaar. Thanks for watching!

  • Gary Busey got into a bar fight.

  • I for one welcome our toothy overlords!

  • We worship you Amun-Ra!

  • No "Is it safe?"?

And, hey, is it me, or do most of the people in this short seem really heavily medicated...?

  • I wouldn't mind a Toothbrush with Bluetooth XD

  • Yet another amazing video, keep it up, you're like the new mst3k!

  • Great to watch on a Saturday afternoon.

    Excellent job as usual, Josh

  • Multiple Josh Way attack!

  • Cartoon teeth are trippy...and annoying.

  • MORE!

  • Great job as always!

  • Ain't it the tooth.
