  • Videos on YouTube are like companies selling products for $39.99 or $99.99. You round off and say "It's 30 bucks!" or "It's less than 100 bucks" except it's not. And YouTube videos are 3 minutes, so you start to think, eh it's not much of my time, and then all of a sudden you can't understand how 3 minute videos have suddenly taken up 1 hour of your life.

  • And how do you feel that hour of delightful nuggets was spent?

  • I like the bag of chips analogy--YouTube for entertainment is like junk food! It's easy to get, you know it's not good for you but you eat it anyway, and when you're done you're still hungry, or when you eat too much you regret it.

  • i like the part where i'm watching someone film a youtube video on youtube.

  • TOUR #2, ENTERTAINMENT: We're endlessly hungry for Britney...two more videos follow on the tour! Go ahead, watch. What, you had better things to do with your time? You were going to write a book? Come on, you know there's no time, room, or inclination for action with so much distraction. Come on, act. Leave a comment! more at aljean.wordpress dot com.

  • I think it is interesting how although this video exposes the "logic" of YouTube ,it still operates in a YouTube-esque mode--that is, it uses humor, sarcasm, vulgarity, etc. Is it possible to critique YouTube without emulating it or is this mode of presentation simply inevitable if one wishes to reach an audience?

  • Youtube works through its speed, accessibility, and a structure that operates much like opening a bag of chips: you can't eat just one.
