i was wondering today what people do when sigur ros play live. for some songs i'd like to lie down and just listen.but others make you want to bounce around.
have a look at their Hoppipola video - lying down seems very acceptable and some are more 'energetic', but generally it seems family friendly. I'm keeping an eye out for concerts to invite a friend (and his wife and son) to as I know they've never heard of them and I think it would shock them that they could take their 1 year old to a concert.
It's tremelo strings on a very fast delay which has a crescendo effect - look at craigmcarthur1's video with a boss GT-6 delay presets to see what I'm talking about.
Jon didn't use (or very rarely) any vibrato on his voice, contrarily to many high octave singers (even classical singers), he didn't need because he sing just and it's so better.
*snooze* I absolutely love these guys...but Ageytis Burjyen, no? I mean, even my hard-rock friends find a place with that album, and granted - they're stoned - but that seems to be the only way for the 'others' to come into recognizing this band as a legitimate player in the realm of music that means. Right?
This song is so powerful, especially if you see it in person at a concert. This rendition is ok, definitely good, but not nearly as awe-casting as the one last spring in Tokyo.
that effect near the end with the shadows was really cool!
how'd they do that?

Does anyone know how they create that sound at the start?

Well, they play the exact track from the album, so it would probably be a production question.

Great, especially how you captured the silhouette effects toward the last two and a half minutes.
I saw them in Detroit. It was an awesome experience!
Thanks.
