That's a little insulting to Italy, considering that it is and always has been one of the richest nations in the world. I think he and his family would have done just as well if they had gone to Turin or Florence as opposed to New York... and therein lies the problem with "Italian" Americans. They know next to nothing about Italy, just spaghetti and tarantelle. Instead of being fixated on the past, focus on what Italy is now.
