If you decide to walk away from them, you have to hide income and employer info or they'll sue to garnish wages. Lay low, quiet, until the statue of limitations runs out for them to sue, and you've beat the system.
@Usurpish Idont mind paying back what I ran up. I did use the card . I should be responsible and pay in my opinion. But I have learned my lesson. Thanks for your comments.
@gfreakj - Well, if you've paid thousands and your balance isn't dropping, then you may need to reconsider (loan sharking?). Might treat them to a little "fractional reserve" (make them an offer).
I used to think the same thing about other people but I never missed a payment on any CC in my 30 yrs using ANY CC. Boom - my card went to 29.99 as well last month. I always pay min + a half more every month and my balance is continually going down and down. I am just a normal good customer getting fucked by citibank.

You should call the bank obviously if your apr was raised guess what you are a risk to the bank or you defaulted in your card agreement and you still in default and trust me I know this for a fact. So learn your lesson and dont make minimum payments or use a credit card you can't afford right now the banks can't afford to lend money at a low rate we all know that so before you start talking about CITI do your research because obviosly theres more to it.
I know how to handle my credit thank you. You dont fuckin know me or know shit about my credit so dont run your mouth when you are ignorant of the facts. I dont need to do research when it is happening to me and people I know. Next time shut your mouth when you dont know what thefuck you are talking about. Ignorant ass!
Its not all the credit card holders you dumfuck its only people that are revolving their balances for example if you are only making minimum payments obviously your balance is not going anywhere the bank is doing you a favor because they dont want using the card if you cant repay dont say "all customers" because that is not true the other thing is if you defaulted in your card agreement and your in default at 19.99% 22.99% or 25.99% you better call because they are going to raise it.
I have received a rate increase on two of Shitibank Credit Cards to 29.99% I called Shitibank and cancelled both cards the same day. I also cancelled my AAdvantage Amex. The rep begged for 20 minutes not to cancel the card, offerred me 3,000 miles on American Airlines or $25.00 gift card. I declined and cancel the card.
I am ridding myself of all credit cards . I am keeping one for emeregencies until they start charging me a yearly fee. Then they are gone as well. They are ruining their own business. Thanks for commenting.
Citi Bank tried that crap with me and I closed my account. Now they send me a couple of Citi Saphire Card offers a week. I don't think so. Hah !
I have several accounts at Bank of America - If you try this crap with me all my accounts go to my Credit Union. I only bank with you {15 Years}because of your ATM network. We aren't friends - this is a business arrangement.
If you are being bilked write the Federal Banking Comission. Try Googling them.
Im sure BOA will follow suit soon. Its a last gasp attempt to rip us off. They raised my rate a few months ago but it never took effect. It was in a letter to all their customers. I called and reminded them of an agreement we had and also told them I had a zero balance on another card and they would be happy to have my debt. That was that. Im sure it will end soon.
I buy almost everything with cash now. I agree simplier is easier. Thanks for info and comment.
I LOVE your "mess-ups". They crack me up because they show how real you are. You're not a phony, your honest and raw!
Citibank is evil. To do such a thing durring a recession while people are just trying to stay afloat and THEY have been bailed out with our money??!!! That's evil!!!! They're the anti-christ! ( Just kidding, well....maybe not :)).
LOL. That really made me laugh. I know a lot of people that would agree with that description literally and figurativly. I laugh at my own mess ups and I aint no frickin news caster. I feel no need to be perfect. lol. Plus I have so much I want to say I dont have time to keep redoing shit. lol
The problem is if people close their accounts there credit scores change drasticaly. That is unless you are one of the few intelligent people that has a small enough balance to pay off all at once. If they are going to rip us off we should get out of the game. Thanks for commenting.
Credit score is based on the amount of credit avaiolable versus the amount of debt. If I have 40,000 available credit and I have 10,000 in debt I may have a deceny credit score. If I close one of those crads and the amount of credit available drops to 30,000 I am now a worse credit risk. My score would change based upon that change in available credit. That is the way I have always understood credit scores to work. If you have other info please share it with me. I would love to be wrong on this.
A lot of us including myself also relied on cc too much. I look at this as a good reason to get the habit knocked down. If I cant get it with cash, unless its an emergency then I dont get it. Its a new way of liviing for me and a lot of people. Something good from something bad.
I still hate those greedy piggy fucks but I have to get something out of it.

It just amazes me how we (our tax money) bailed out these companies from collapsing and what they do in return after they recover?

Here's how you start to fix all these problems
Everyone.
Take that credit card and cut it up.
Call them and cancel the account.
Dont just stop useing it because they are working on a new penalty charge for "NOT USING" your card.
they will crap themselves when 40 million people call them up.. Then they wont have a choice but to fix it. Its as easy as that...
I declare March 1st 2010 the day we all call your card Co and take control.. pass it on.
Davidbzm01 2 years ago
Im all for it. I should have my little bit of left over cc debt paid off by then. Screw em all!
Ill put up a video about this soon. Thanks for commenting.

Not true. A credit score only changes when a person either is behind in his/her payments or when paying on time, that's all.
