I so agree editors film/tv makers are trigger happy when it comes to editing a good kiss. The raw footage was much hotter than the one shown in the episode. Why do they do that? It can't be because of 'before the watershed' ideology because it is just a kiss. They are making TV far too puritanical. A longer kiss wouldn't have hurt anyone. Kids should be ableto see affection between people who love, care and respect each other. Kissing is the best way to show love. I say more love on TV PLEASE

Aww! I did like the longer one, but I can see why they cut it down. I saw the extended kiss in the confidential-the show might have gone over time (OK, OK, I exaggerate, but it definiately seemed that both Billie Piper and David Tennent were enjoying themselves there.)

Rtd has given us a great gift in 10.5 because 10 and rose could never be together, and though 10 is sad, he was always gonna lose rose one way or the other, and this way we can have nice little daydreams about the doctor and rose getting married and having kids. thankyou rtd. You think the real cut was bad? Ever seen the CBC cut? Rose just starts making out with 10.5 for NO REASON. They completely cut out the part about her caring about the REAL Doctor. They actually cut a whole 20 minutes from the episode...
Here's the thing: no matter how much he would want it, the Doctor knows he couldn't stay with Rose b/c she's human and he's virtually immortal, although Rose would probably reist and try to stay, the Doctor could never forgive himself. Letting her be with the human Doctor is the ultimate showing of how much he loves her, b/c her happiness is more important to him than his own.
@graysonbatman I second that. You're right, pure love. If you look I think the immortal Doctor looks a bit sad that he can't spend the rest of his life with her but he seems happy that she can at least spend the rest of her life with a mortal copy of himself.
@graysonbatman The only reason Rose kissed the Human Doctor is because he told her what she wanted to hear. The Real Doctor was practically forcing Rose to choice the Human Doctor. If he had said "I love you too" instead of "Does it need saying?" she would have kissed him! The Human Doctor may have the Doctor's memories, but in my book he is no more the Doctor than the clone of Martha was Martha! If I were Rose, I would rather spend the rest of my life with the Real Doctor, not the Human one.
@shadowstargate once, when the Time Lords where alive, there was a council that could allow Time Lords extra regenerations, but I don't think they could give them other species. The only way I see that working is if The Doctor could have somehow taken Rose to the Untempered Schism, which is impossible. Even allowing that, there's no telling what that could have done to her. We've all seen the Master.... Also, the Chameleon Arch did turn make him human, but it also made him forget who he was.

If she had, she never would have left the original Tenth Doctor. RTD revealed in his book, 'A Writer's Tale' that he did intend Rose to kiss the original, but he changed it.

It's called "This is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home." It's actually used in the show in reference to Gallifrey and the Master in his childhood, as well as his current insane self. It's one of my favorite pieces for the show, but the bit used in the video is hardly appropriate for the Doctor and Rose's relationship, haha (there's a later bit that's less bombastic that would've been lovely, IMO)

It is the same song all along, called 'This is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home', appeared on the cd of series three, if i'm not mistaken. If you type in the title in youtube, the first thing is this one :)

Just wondering... How did you manage to get the extended kiss video from the DVD and separate it from the sound? I would kinda like to learn how to make moving vids and not slikdeshow vids, but I don't know how to capture clips from DVD. :-(

Aww! I did like the longer one, but I can see why they cut it down. I saw the extended kiss in the confidential-the show might have gone over time (OK, OK, I exaggerate, but it definiately seemed that both Billie Piper and David Tennent were enjoying themselves there.)

Its not really, its just shown the kiss panned out a bit, the show didn't have the camera shot like that, its just extra footage and some editing.

Rtd has given us a great gift in 10.5 because 10 and rose could never be together, and though 10 is sad, he was always gonna lose rose one way or the other, and this way we can have nice little daydreams about the doctor and rose getting married and having kids. thankyou rtd. Also, i agree with distantdreamer because i prefer it when its not just rose kissing and loving the doctor, i prefer it when he is kissing and loving her. check out a teaspoon and an open mind fanfiction site it is great!!!

You think the real cut was bad? Ever seen the CBC cut? Rose just starts making out with 10.5 for NO REASON. They completely cut out the part about her caring about the REAL Doctor. They actually cut a whole 20 minutes from the episode...

Here's the thing: no matter how much he would want it, the Doctor knows he couldn't stay with Rose b/c she's human and he's virtually immortal, although Rose would probably reist and try to stay, the Doctor could never forgive himself. Letting her be with the human Doctor is the ultimate showing of how much he loves her, b/c her happiness is more important to him than his own.

@graysonbatman I second that. You're right, pure love. If you look I think the immortal Doctor looks a bit sad that he can't spend the rest of his life with her but he seems happy that she can at least spend the rest of her life with a mortal copy of himself.

@graysonbatman The only reason Rose kissed the Human Doctor is because he told her what she wanted to hear. The Real Doctor was practically forcing Rose to choice the Human Doctor. If he had said "I love you too" instead of "Does it need saying?" she would have kissed him! The Human Doctor may have the Doctor's memories, but in my book he is no more the Doctor than the clone of Martha was Martha! If I were Rose, I would rather spend the rest of my life with the Real Doctor, not the Human one.

@shadowstargate once, when the Time Lords where alive, there was a council that could allow Time Lords extra regenerations, but I don't think they could give them other species. The only way I see that working is if The Doctor could have somehow taken Rose to the Untempered Schism, which is impossible. Even allowing that, there's no telling what that could have done to her. We've all seen the Master.... Also, the Chameleon Arch did turn make him human, but it also made him forget who he was.

If she had, she never would have left the original Tenth Doctor. RTD revealed in his book, 'A Writer's Tale' that he did intend Rose to kiss the original, but he changed it.

It's called "This is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home." It's actually used in the show in reference to Gallifrey and the Master in his childhood, as well as his current insane self. It's one of my favorite pieces for the show, but the bit used in the video is hardly appropriate for the Doctor and Rose's relationship, haha (there's a later bit that's less bombastic that would've been lovely, IMO)
