Let me just say in response to "telling the secret", that I've been a magician for 11 years and I've found out in my eleven years that it doesn't matter if you know the secret or not. Knowing the secret is only half the trick. Being able to sell it and having the talent to make it seem real is the most important part. So before you say "I know how it's done" ask yourself, "can I do it?"

In response to this I must say that you are right from your own perspective. However, as a person of the audience it is not our job to be able to do the trick, that is quite clearly the magicians job. The fact that you can't do it doesen't mean that you don't know how it's done.

What I'm saying is that your arguement is wrong because it is directed towards the audience.
