  • If there is one group that embodies progressive rock, it is King Crimson. Led by guitar/Mellotron virtuoso Robert Fripp, during its first five years of existence the band stretched both the language and structure of rock into realms of jazz and classical music, all the while avoiding pop and psychedelic sensibilities.

  • I wish I knew what it was... his PhD thesis, his manifesto, a song cycle, the answer to the question of life, the universe, and everything?

  • @SupernalOne I think Belew based it off of a letter he got from his wife describing a sculpture or something that she made.

  • @erikm12

ha, that's funny - it's such a positive-sounding yet completely unclear series of utterances - maybe that's art for you: emotion detached from subject matter, so the audience can free-associate & relate

  • @erikm12 and @SupernalOne : thats the story I heard. It nearly drove me nuts trying to figure it out for the longest time too, (the more I looked at it... no matter how much I [took] it apart... no matter how I [broke] it down...)
