This is one of my favorite films. This was made just barely after WW2. Every one was really happy with the celebration. Stalin was still in power. He also did not show up for the celebration. No questions asked about this film. I remember this when i was little.

By turns triumphant and sad, pompous and grave, it aims to create a mini Soviet "Fantasia" -and generally succeeds.
