Just found this and it brought tears to my eyes, my Mum loved Connie Francis, when she passed away 8 years ago at the tender age of 60 my sister chose this at the funeral, when it came on, my legs nearly gave way and there wasnt a dry eye in the church. This song makes me so sad and cry. My dad loved this song so much and I miss him so much during this time of the year. I also miss my big brother who died almost 40 years ago (1971). He drowned in the river behind our home. My mother is almost 88 years old and she is suffering from dementia and it is so hard to see them go away slowly and you cannot do a thing.

"Mama" is a difficult song to sing, the singer needs to deliver emotion (which Connie does well), it needs accentuation and other aspects of the language. Language professors can explain better.
