it looks like a monk praying, there used to be a chapel in the castle so it might be a spirit praying

I think it's most likely double exposure, just playing on the likelihood, and this was during the use of film cameras. BUT if it isn't, it's certainly an amazing catch and a real head scratcher for the skeptics, no doubt.

i lived in Edinbrugh for 11 years and i was born in Edinbrugh but i moved any way Edinbrugh castle is 1000% haunted and so is Mary Kings Close they are both haunted so that is a real picture of a ghost girl because i got a picture of my standing there and that little girl was in my picture she is very friendly she is crowching down in the corner she is very scared her mother told her storys and the little girl would sit on the floor wilst her mum told her a story. well there you go :)

Skeptical of this (ghosts in general)... I ran it through Photoshop. I inverted it and put the contrast up, brightness down a little and was gobsmacked. It's clearly a young boy with short dark hair wearing a robe type thing with a with large collar.

Perhaps a ghost, nobody knows. It couldn't be the flash unless the paint was put on there recently and thats obviously not right. It couldn't be mist inside a castle that doesn't have mist anywhere else. I think it is a ghost while others may think otherwise.
