the reason they are using TE's is they have to put $1,ooo,ooo into ever new full time employees pension fund i have a friend waiting to go fulltime rural carrier but wont because of a hiring freeze for that reason
The facts are if he is a TE, then he is saving money for the Postal Service, because he is working his butt off, for straight pay, no benefits and the constant fear that he can be let go at any moment, and there isn't anything the union could do to change that, regardless of what anybody says. Reality, it cost more to pay a regular carrier, so they are just lying to the public, and you can see the frustration in the snaggletooth manager, as he attempts to lie his way out of this.
As unfortunate as it is, if he's on a yearly contract, then he has to be a T.E. Carrier, which is my title as well, we know that for any reason at all, we can be let go after our yearly contract. If they would have tried to fire him BEFORE the contract, that would have been different, and the union would have more than likely gotten involved.
Better that Isaac doesn't go back to work for the USPS; it's a toxic environment. I'm resigning in the spring of 2012 and I can't fucking wait!!!!
