I don't know why, but i don't find that anime so tearjerking... It's a great work, the story is pretty good and the animations and background are fantastic. Also it has an emotional character but it is just too surreal to be tearjerking. It's just my personal opinion but in the end this whole "fate"-thing is something they were imposed with by the sect their "parents" were in, or am I wrong? I think you have to see this anime in a symbolic way, and thus it can't be tearjerking in my eyes.

I don't really care at all for kanba disappearing, but FUCK YOU IKUHARA for killing Shoma and forever ruining RingoxShoma.

The most innocent, self-sacrificing, noble character in the show and he suffers the worst fate along wih his mass-murdering adopted brother.

Shoma saved plenty of lives and he didn't resort to sacrificing morals or innocent livesto do it, unlike kanba. Don't pull that "punishment" BS on me.

@GaimeGuy it had to happen either way. Besides it left more of an impact with Shouma and ringo separated. Look on the bright side, Ringo will be reunited with Shouma one day. One day.

But Kanba was equally self-sacrificing as Shouma, remember he did share his fate with him. The apple of fate is a gift chosen to people who are willing to die for love. Both of them kept the promise. So as much as i disliked Kanba, he turned out to be just fine in the end.

@LittleCookieGod Kanba was self-sacrificing, but he was also sacrificing of others for his own selfish interests. How many innocent people did he kill over the course of the series for himari's sake? In the end all his wrongs were undone by the fate transfer, but that doesn't change the fact that kanba strayed. I admire shoma because he NEVER stooped so low. He never tried to save his loved ones by sacrificing an innocent person. Ever.

@GaimeGuy Sure, Kanba stooped low enough to hurt innocent people. But, i still can't think of him as the bad guy. The ending scene basically resolved all hatred i had from him throughout the show. I love shouma, don't get me wrong he's the only reason i stayed and continued watching. But i loved everything about it and can't take sides. I believe they both did what they had to do to save the ones they loved even if it meant hurting other people.
