But then I have to waste time pumping the bomb on the ledge instead of doing it en route... not sure if that'll shave time or add it, although it is convenient for consistency.
It's hard to say. If done optimally, you might be saving some frames, but you pretty much need to do it perfect if you don't have remote bombs because it takes some time to go from the corner to the middle of the ledge. One miskicked bomb might make the pumped bomb explode before you land on it. You might notice it only takes me like a second and a half to pump a bomb. It takes you almost as long to run across the ledge to get into position. Bomb jumping across is just easier for positioning.
I just got 1963 doing it. The trickiest part for me is ironically positioning myself on the skinny ledge in front of the exit, in order to land the big bomb.
All you have to do is bombjump over to the ledge and not hold any directions. It sets you up perfectly to just toss one pumped bomb over there. It's trickier to get the last bomb on the edge of the platform, IMO.
I like throwing a bomb up to the ledge before dizzy jumping, so I only need to do it once to get to the button. Then again, that's only in full power mode when they won't explode on me.
Doom Castle takes a couple minutes. Blue Resort levels are much shorter. Getting the cards in this level takes longer than getting all the cards in Doom Castle, though.
actually I for some reason said white when I'd meant sky palace, for some reason since the one before that is black I think of that one as white. Sorry, my bad on that one :)
For as many times as I used the knockout method of climbing for White 3 and for getting the cards here, I can't BELIEVE I never thought to use it to get to that button. Nice job.
Good but only about 2 seconds ahead of mufumi

3? The slippery one?
I am kind of hopeful you did mean 3, but you probably meant 1. :^(
