Downloaded a couple of concerts by the remains of this group with the terrible name F Deluxe. The singing is horrible. THey are a classic example of a group created by Prince that will never be great without him. Just like the Time.

He left the Time in 1985 and formed the Family with Susannah Melvoin, Wendy's sister and Prince's girlfriend at the time. This like many other songs is an unused Prince song. The original is fire!

Just one more reason I'm glad I grew up when I did. Along with ridiculous hair metal bands, questionable new wave groups and a lot of other nonsense was some incredible music. Prince, Sheila E, The Time, Jesse Johnsons Review, Mazarati and too many others to name really had an incredible sound and owned their flavor in a way that had not been seen since Motown.

Most R&B was pretty lame. Lionel Ritchie, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and the like were ok but got old fast.
