  • whats the song?

  • Metaphysics for a professor living in an ivory tower - that one brought a smile to my face. Such questions are asked by most people that have been within my circle of contact. Is there are an absolute right and wrong? Does God exist? What is the universe made of? Does free will exist? Are we travelling on a predetermined path?

Finding a way to answer these questions brings enthusiasm; perhaps one requires creativity to undertake such a endeavor!

  • Participating in an online course sounds like a great way to take the first step to learn of this field. The practical ramifications of metaphysics; now this has to be applicable to everyone!

As you are aware, there are various approaches to teaching metaphysics and one can only be delighted as to learn of your approach. Lets turn the page and see what is in store.

  • at 1:10 there is a metaphysical being that flickers in the sky. Giant bird???

  • I eat, therefore I poop.

  • weird physics

  • the guy at 1:45 is a big beauty

  • I'm in this class

  • is there metaphysex?

  • @BadGrassDieHard

    maybe with a succubus thing

  • They said "is there an objective right and wrong" is a metaphysics question. It's not... it's a meta-ETHICS question. Big difference.

  • Some one please tell me the name of the song playing in the background!

  • Wait If theres a predetermined course of life does that mean i must make this comment? I could not. But that would stay on the pass. So no matter what I do its on a path that has to be followed. I cant change it. I can only abide to it. I could stop now and not post this. But that would be on the path. So whatever i do, its planned and i will do it...... fuckit ill post this

  • There is a thing called magnetism. I gotta drink some OJ. Stop throwing popcorn at the zebra.

  • i want to minor in metaphysics but i dont know if its avaliable in any 4 year universities i know

  • For some people, God is so re-assuring that they don't have to think. Faith in the dictionary is a "unshakable belief"or "belief that is not based on proof," in something. That being said, Christians have are so tied up in their faith that they can't think for themselves. Even if I were to provide an array of evidence, not one bit of it would enter their mind. They just feel they can leave it to "faith," because that will decide for them.

  • @inukami23

I am a born again Christian. I think about my faith everyday. I go to a liberal arts college, and I am currently taking a western civilization class. My faith is tested each day. I spend time each day questioning my beliefs, analyzing religious arguments, and looking at the "big" picture. What a naive thing to say.

  • @frogman360 ... and yet the idea of God hadn't seem to be extremely stupid to you? Boy you might need more hours of college after all. :O)

  • @holandes84

Lol! yeah, I have a long way to go. I am a physics major, and this is a required class for all students.

  • @frogman360 keep it up. I love Physics. :)

  • @frogman360 yet you still completely disregard that there's a very, very healthy chance that mysticism and deities are non-existent and choose to align yourself with something that provides comfort rather than something that puts you in a vulnerable state of reason and constant questioning

I'm not an atheist nor am I religious, I am a huge skeptic in the whole god department and I refuse to put myself in one group, but I do lean towards the known universe rather than the beliefs of men

  • @StOnion

Its harder being a Christian, trust me. I struggle every day with sin more than I will ever struggle with reason. Its easy to think about stuff.

  • @frogman360 but why attach the idea of sin to free thinking, or thoughts that go beyond what other have told you are your boundaries?

Not trying to convert you or anything btw, just interesting to hear from an open-minded christian

  • @StOnion

My interpretations of sin are things that hurt my relationship to God. I can still ponder the nature of time or quantum physics. I still question why God created things the way he did. I wouldn't be much of a scientist (or will be) if I didn't. We all have free will after all. My faith is not without doubt either. I know that it takes a leap of faith to believe in an all powerful entity.

  • @frogman360 sorry dude, sounds pitiful

  • I'm trying to remember which movie I've heard this song from. A Little Princess, perhaps?

  • Is this a course that you can take online, if so please send me some information.

    thank you

  • It's about time they offer a course that teaches knowledgfe is but a myth.

  • 2nd mvt beethoven 5th Symphony

  • @Bruce88keys - *7th

  • @frogbuster20 yes, 7th a typo-asshole

  • @theawakener7 I detect a believer in 'predestination'. Just one of the many things in the bible about which you can prove both sides of the issue. 'Freewill' would be the opposing viewpoint.

  • i love this song what is it called

  • @SAMPINJ Jeeze, if I hear another dolt on You Tube refer to orchestral music as a "song" (which implies a voice and lyric) Its not a "song" its a great work of music literature, Beethoven 7th Symphony 2nd mvt.

  • Wierd, strange, completely out of the box thinking and mind bending contemplation!

  • @theawakener7 Christianity is what embodies spirituality into mans image in an attempt to define the infinite. Telling people they have no freewill places them in the control of those who "understand God's will" the best. I appreciate your guidance, but you see you really aren't saying anything I haven't considered before. The only people I see hung up on the term God are Christians and unsurprisingly they have a very difficult time defining the term themselves.

  • @theawakener7 Well yeah that's what the personification of Sun worship would pretty much entail. Jesus is light, God is spirit? Why call it God then? It's simply taking a concept and embodying it in our own image. The idea that there is some patriarch to guide us and care for us is very re-assuring afterall.

  • @theawakener7 Well Amun Ra to that! Bring me light o sun of the heavens! Make my crops grow, let me feel your warm glow on my face my salvation... my lord. If Jesus is the light then why not simply say worship the light?

  • alright, wel the universe doent need to be observed, but it knows when it is (down the rabit hole). there is no god. such a being, as it is omnipotenet and everywhere, would not require any matter to exist, for it already is all existence. it's really hard to reach the finish line when your staring at where you started, esp. when you can't even see that! No god, or savior has ever existed, and it's all been proven. (christianity disproves all others, pagan christ disproves christianity). go live

  • @theawakener7 The universe is just matter and things but quantom physics is on the edge of proving there is a level of consciousness too lifeless things, but thats besides the point. Ur trying to explain to this guy that the purpose of the universe cmes from the observer. That purpose of the universe is in the eye of the beholder. But its main purpose is to create sort of a playground for Light beings to experience in am i right? Thus the illusion of time, space, thought, form cumintoexistence?

  • @theawakener7 someone on youtube who actually discusses the topic instead of making a "your mom" joke or just typing curse words in caps

  • @theawakener7 alright thanks for clarifying that. the universe is matter and we are matter as well (atoms and molecules) which exist within the universe. What separates us and makes us distinct from the universe? we're made out of the same material it is made of and we do not exist outside of it. we are the universe, so if we have purpose the universe does as well. do humans require purpose to exist? if so, why? (by the way, im enjoying this conversation; it's really nice to finally talk with

  • @theawakener7 If i am reading your comment correctly you believe that the universe requires purose in order to exist and since it does exist so does purpose. But if you dont mind me asking, why does the universe require purpose to exist?

  • The existence of God has become an excuse not to think. God has all the answers, therefore, you don't have to come up with any. This statement and proclamation of blind faith proves this. You believe everything you hear to be truth. There is no truth. Admit that to yourself so you can begin to THINK. What is the meaning of life? This may seems painfully obvious, but i say that it is to LIVE. So live. Learn. And THINK. Don't confine yourself to what you've been told. Find out for yourself.

  • I love that you played Beethoven's 7th, my favourite of his symphonies.

  • metaphysics is just the realization that there is not outer world, our reality is us. We are our world and our world is us. That is all it is. when we know this than we will shift. life is multidimensional and All That Is is the same as Creator or God or Source Energy.

  • I just read a new book, God vs Satan Untold Story, by a new thinker on this topic. Who seems to have all these ideas, and more. He ties them into not only explaining God and Satan, but into politics, racial behavior, and modern political economical problems. If you like this stuff, you'll love the new guy. He takes all these ideas to a brand new level.

  • so where are the bootyfull booty youtube dancers. i see yoouu..

    \

    \Ooooops wrong video.. hehe :)

  • Funny and trippy video!

  • Yes, where are the other lessons?? =)

  • I think metaphysic is the physical world that exists but cannot be physically examined!

Those who deny its existence let their primitive hormones rule/take over their advanced brains!

BTW Thanks for the video! The music is awesome I love Beethoven, specially this 1 (2nd movement of his 7th symphony)! It is a dance/happy on 1 side and a funeral/sad on the other

Only The King can do that

  • @Matey3

    LOL what a moron

  • I think therefore I am.

  • ok so where are the rest of the lessons?

  • Can you post the link..??? google is not finding it... Thank you

  • I don't have any of the answers. I only know the right questions.

  • there is no such thing as the right questions. there are an infinate number of questions to ask for each topic and none of them no matter how you ask them are not the "right" questions. in order to know the answer you have to ask every single wrong question and have them correctly answered. dont dwell on it and definately dont say you "know" anything.

  • $That was kind of my point. ¢

  • @FCKEVRY1 Oh, in that case the answer is 42. You're welcome :)

  • I spoke to God... he never heard of you.

  • hahahahahahahahahah... man thats funny

    cool video ^_^

    Peace

  • or are you Skitzophrenic??

  • what is the music at 1 20!

  • Beethoven's "Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92, II. Allegretto" . . . I know this from the movie The Fall, lol.

  • thank you so much..

  • No problem! Always love being helpful. :)

  • i beleive the song was in Master and Commander as well... but good call. shows class man.

  • i think its second movement of beethovens 7th.

  • I think, therefore I eat.

  • I wish there was an equation that describes everything in the universe.

  • Oh but there is! Pie=Greatness.

No? Oh well, it works for me lol

  • x=42

  • they are working on it

  • there is

  • ok. what is it?

  • @chewbuggars it's not a small equation, but you can derive every atomic and newtonian force from it. It's part of string theory.

  • there is!

  • $Im sure there is a very very short equation that answers EVERYTHING. The problem is that the moment we find it, everything will change and the equation will no longer be valid.¢

  • I don't think evolution applies to an equation that can DESCRIBE EVERYTHING!!!! or else it wouldn't describe EVERYTHING! get what i mean?

  • Hitchikers guide comes to mind.

  • I love things like this. I love theory and all of those good things. Yay for being made up of tiny little vibrating strings! (string theory)

  • That was very interesting.

  • i got confused at the beinging the dude needs to talk slower lol

  • wow trippy

  • I never took any such course, but I know some people who did. One classmate said that by the time he finished the course, he wasn't sure whether he existed or not. Another guy at Georgia Tech said the first day in class the professor held up a pencil and said, "Now this is an elephant," and on the final exam there was one question: WHY? The student answered WHY NOT - he got an A.

  • @author HAHAHA nice.

  • @author

LMAO! The story of your bud made my day! I can't stop laughing. I wonder what would have happened if you ignored him?

  • @author That whole concept is a farse, I think therefore I am, we are conscious of the world around us the issue is more that people do not know how they are being affected by the many impressions, its all economic transgression tied to the material structure being a form of bondage tied to the presumptions of identity, but the question is why, but what does it matter when you know that you are really alive...

  • @author They all learnt "Wisdom" huh?

  • BTW, I just went to that school's website, it looks like they have some fun classes there! Woohoo! Oh, and hgryphon - I hope you don't feel like I was attacking you. Kisses!

  • Uhhh, hgryphon... you took the short bus to school, didn't you? Haha, seriously though, why do so many people think that just because THEY can't understand something that it just doesn't make sense, or is not logical? But I guess your right, 1 object could never be in multiple places at the same time, right? There's no way an electron can behave as a particle AND a wave, right? Oh, wait, yes they can! Physicists have proven that this is true over 40 years ago. Quantum physics is fascinating

  • aaaaahhhh...huh? This video makes my head hurt....

  • Tf00t is great, I watch all his videos as well as the videos on his other channel, Beautyintheuniverse i think its called.

How on earth can you say metaphysics makes no sense? Do you even know what metaphysics is? You must live a sad life if you never think about metaphysics.

If it makes you feel any better I am studying astronomy at one of the best universities in the country. I don't know if you consider that particular field a topic that makes sense.

  • I'll have to take your word for it. So, you're a big fan of metaphysics, OntologicalQuandary? Yet you follow Thunderf00t. I'm confused how you could follow someone with so much sense, as Thunderf00t has, yet be interested in a topic which makes next to no sense, as metaphysics does. Or am I viewing that from the wrong direction and you think Thunderf00t makes no sense, so you watch him to see what evil lies he's spreading?

  • Nice graphics. Too bad it's on a video about metaphysics.
