One of the best Japanese movies ever. Period. Anyone that disagrees is a simpleton who should just stick to watching the "TNT" channel with the rest of the mouth breathing zombie herd.
@ArousingAdmiration Kaidan (怪談) (or kwaidan), an Edo period, Japanese word of Chinese origin consisting of two kanji: 怪 (kai) meaning “strange, mysterious, rare or bewitching apparition" and 談 (dan) meaning “talk” or “recited narrative.” Kaidan refers to any ghost or horror story of old-fashioned Edo period Japanese folktales but is no longer widely used: horror such as Ring would more likely be labeled katakana horā (ホラー, "horror") or standard kowai hanashi (怖い話, "scary story").

@LLEESSLLIIEE1 Yeah, but this movie sure has more depth than "Ju-on" and "Ringu"... Of course, those are scarier, but "Kwaidan" is from 1964!

Is it pronounced Kwaidan, and spelled Kaidan? On IMDB it is spelled both ways, just wondering why.
