That makes no sense....Twisted Metal isn't a race, it's a demolition derby. That's why Death Race is a poor example of Twisted Metal. However in defense Death Race did come out way before Twisted Metal was even a thought. The original movie not that Jason Stratham crap...

TMHO is like a hybrid of all the previous TM's.

Art looks like TM2 + TMB. Some plots from TM1 & TM2 continued. Some wishes were almost as stupid as TM3's. And TMHO has ghosts like in TM1.

And Sweet Tooth took over like in TM4. Not much TMSB, though.

Before "I know what" happens, yes, the idea for Mr. Grimm (who in most of the games is supposed to be the living manifestation of Death/The Grim Reaper) is inspired by the idea of Ghost Rider, who basically started the whole retro change from "flaming headless horseman" to "flaming skull motorcycle".

However, this is a VERY old videogame, so do not assume they stole the Ghost Rider character (who is very badass) from Marvel or that he is in this game. The idea is not copyrighted.
