It certainly could have. But after the main laundry pukes the rocket falls at 15 fps.....which from 1,000' would take 60+ seconds or another cut to where it's about 40' off the ground. Once the main is out it's mostly anti climactic, it when the laundry reefs or doesn't come out at all then it's exciting to take it to the ground.
I never understood why they didn't put computer guided little fins/flaps around the nose of the rocket, this prevents it from going sideways while going up and helps it going straight trajectory into space.
Very nice example of the dual deployment drogue parachute followed by the main parachute ... I am working on a L-2 Cherokee rocket, and although I do not need dual deployment, I thought that I would try to master it BEFORE I attempt my L-3 - thanks! .
I attached 4 bottle rockets to a hot dog then launched it without a permit. But after it landed a dog ate it so I couldn't study and improve my designs.
Wow, beautiful launch!! that looked absolutely great to see the launch and parachute depoloyment go off OK without any problems...plus the launch looked like it went smooth as well...wow, that must be fun, I have only worked with the smaller estes rockets, a bunch of them, but not in about 10 years. Maybe I can try my hands at the larger ones someday. This looks fun.
If by gasoline, not that I'm aware. While I know it's been done, it seems that a critical temp and ice become involved, which also involves time to sit an look at the ice melt.
im gonna sound like an ass but did you set up with the thor thing then shoot a toy replica i knoe im an ass but that shit comin out looked like a toy 1 or sum shit cool anyway
Parachutes.. .cool, for a second I thought that was a ballistic missile launched at another territory.

First: How the hell did you launch a HUGE rocket of a pick-up truck?
Second: Do you legally have permission to launch shit into the air? I mean it could kill a passerby spartan....just sayin'....
Third:.......Where in the heck did you get the funding for the rocket?
Fourth:How did that man/woman get in there? It looked a little tight >_>

Big rocket launch sites have all the advantages.....the pickup truck only transported it to the pad.

@mertyiM yea i know the guy that did that balloon hoax guy had to pay fines for launching it

Why did it tilt?I am makinfg a rocket but mine is going into space..
HelpSaveTheEarth2051 2 years ago
It only had an M in it, an N would've taken it a bit straighter given the weight of the rocket.

What do you mean by M and N ? Nice rocket btw..
