@captaint1000 yeah u r obviously an old geiser that i bet iz alone,a nerd/comic book geek, dosen't have a life, and is still living with his mom.SO GO READ YOUR COMICS YOU DIPTHONG!!!!!!!!
I loved how "V" stood for victory in the original mini-series. Some chick spraypainted it on a wall & it caught on. In today's mini-series V stands for the Visitors and the cast calls them "the V's" So lame
@cyphrinfinity I think it's interesting that at the beginning Donovan and Tony are filming a guerrila resistance in action; and later on Donovan becomes part of the Resistance!!!
Well. I have seen V in 19xx years 1st time. Remake motivated me to watch all of it again. I pretty much love how it made and at 1st its a story. And for me its much better then Star Wars or X-files sometimes. I guess remake will accelerate all story pretty fast and I am in hope they will show something really new. But... All will be in same rash in story. Too fast.
I saw the premiere of the new version last night. It was quite good. Makes the original seem campy but, then, we are talking about different eras and tv technology. Still, a good start to what might be a good series.
When the "V" series was made during the early '80s.The country of El Salvador also had a civil war during the early '80s(actually,the end of the '70s).
I absolutely love how this scene is mirroed at the end of the miniseries with Juliet.... The resistance fighting standing alone against seemingly insurmountable odds. I love this show..
They should remake the miniseries and final battle, while keeping the feel/look of the original (and not go CGI crazy over the top like current stuff).
The feel look of the original is very campy by todays standards. If they did that it would just be a nostalgia fest for people in their 50's or older. I don't think thats what they want.
20th Century Fox called. They want their anti-aircraft pistol scene from "Patton" back. :-P
Boy, it's been longer ago than I thought. I forgot about that rip-off/homage of when General Patton shot at the strafing aircraft in his movie. Of course, I don't remember Blood 'n Guts scoring a kill.
I guess that added to the remarkability that our hero videotaped... and made even more poignant the big "that wasn't NUTHIN'" feeling compared to... well, see the next minutes. ;-)
ah..yes....those little sandanesten bastards.....wow what great memories,,,el salvador, reagonomics, ollie north&iran contra hearings...80's heavy metal n high doses of coke(blow)as we called it,and lots of alcohol, broads, and partying!
Hey, nothing like V! Now, here is one series I wish would make a return to TV- and not through the Sci Fi Channel either (they screw up everything). Anyone know of a remake or continuation in the works?
Supposedly (according to wiki) they are making sequel to origian series, ignoring the Final Battle and regular series. This is written by the original Producer. Hopefully the movie (TV) comes in 2008.
This rumor has been going around the net for sometime now- a few years anyway. But, originally, the original writer of V and V: The Final Battle was going to write a new miniseries that would take place some 20 years after Final Battle and ignoring the TV series entirely. And, I hope that it comes into reality as well.
Kenneth Johnson is in negotiations with Warner Bros for a new series, V The Second Generation, (witch is already a book by the way) for release sometime in 2009. It takes over 20 years from the end of the original miniseries, disregarding the events of V the final battle and the tv series
You rock so hard for posting this. My friends and I used to run around on Summer days & nights with shop glasses on and our plastic guns turned upside down pretending we were in V. Great memories. And Mr. Roboto was my #1 favorite song back then, lol. Awesome.
You must be joking. Bin Laden seeks(or sought) to create chaos and disorder through bloodshed on a massive scale. The freedom fighters in El Salvador were heroic in their efforts to topple a fascist regime, which, at the time was, ironically, funded by the US.
You missed all the fun. Two months ago, some moron responded to my initial comment, by suggesting Osama was somehow misunderstood and not a terrorist. Apparently, that comment has been erased, probably by some administator with either good taste, or a low regard for free speech.
Considering when V came out, it took a lot of balls to present the freedom fighters of El Salvador in the positive light they deserved, as opposed to the death squads the US government was funding.
my absolute favorite TV show ever. actually, my bad, its second only to The Walking Dead. but still badass
