  • OOOOPPPSS, ME BAD, that is the M60A2 with the 152mm Shillelegh main gun. Same as was used on the M551 Sheridan, used by the 82nd Airborne. This is not the engineer version, which does have a 165mm demolition gun. Me issa so embaresssing. the search light on this tank went on the left front side of the turret even with the front of the turret.

  • correction thats a 152mm main gun.

  • That is the M60A2, the engineer version with the 165mm demolition gun. It is not the M60A1 or A3 main battle tank version. Almost looks what i did to a stupid German driver in West Berlin years ago. Co. F 40th Armor the largest active duty tank company in the US Army at the time of the cold war.

  • That is one of the newer M60s with no search light. I can can close my eyes and hear the turbochargers running. It was a unique sound that you never forget.

Thanks for posting and letting an old tanker hear it once again.
