woouuu!!!!!i take a question????whats the name of the girl????because i like!!!well if not problem!!!!even that i from mexico!!!i live in irapuato!!!and your look!!!!is very very cool!!!
You mention EL wire can't be bent into right angles, but what I'm wondering is: how tight a radius of curvature CAN the wire be bent into? Do you think it would accept a half-inch diameter circle? I have some ideas for a rave costume that I want to implement...
@TheMathGuy - It probably depends on the type of EL wire you want to use. I buy mine from coolneon.com, and they have some useful details on their product pages. For example, their standard diameter (2.6 mm) wire can curl around your finger. Angel hair diameter wire (1.2 mm), is more fragile, but can bend over onto itself 180 degrees on an 1/8" radius. A word of caution with the angel hair - I've heard it photo bleaches easily, so you might want to keep it out of the sun.
You can always cut the EL wire, splice and solder it back correctly, restoring the continuity of the two internal seperate wires.
Just pay attention to keep the two wires insulated from each other at your splicings, AND the splice insulated from you, floating high voltages here! | <- splicing
/ \ <- both of the branches you want to join at a right angle.
You can tuck the insulated splicings into the costume, and Voila!
Are Katteries included? I give it an AAA! Good thinkin on the vertex solution, too. If (Sanfran) airport security are the liberal free-loving daytime-streaking types, they'll understand :)

Extremely cool idea, I'd never thought of animating a single shape using the EL wire on mulitple channels

Thanks for the positive comments! I hope to see more people try 3-D imagery with EL wire!
