  • I was with 3 PPCLI IN 94 in Victoria when we left the city and were broken up to be spread out all over the country .It was an amazing group of guys.

  • whats that song

  • Stand proud 2nd Batt ...

  • there is a reason Canada and the USA are allies and that is because Canada needs the U.S and the U.S needs Canada

  • Thank you Canadian Vets, fior giving so much and expecting so little. We owe you much. God Bless You

  • @ BigSock099 Made up glory? Really?! Please humor me and tell me what about the United States glory is MADE UP.... Curious too, what country do you live in?

  • @USMCSEMPERFI601 i mainly said that... sorry about late reply, that many "yanks" pose as that only their army gets shit done- yes iam bad for bashing bashers. but iam just saying that many ive met- over the internet and in reality... have that condescending prejudice towards other nations- usually canada... i see you might seam to be a marine or have marine interests. We must try more than americans, yet many bash us. our basic rifleman- is better trained than a Marine rifle man.

  • @BigSock099 - iam going to say that because for all i know you might be the same way. if not i apologize and do not mean to bring any offence towards you.

  • stupid americans have eaten to much Mcdonalds to notice that most of their armed forces glory is made up... they only seam they're better cause they have a bigger army thats it, we have the same equipment plus better we have access to all of theirs plus the E.U.'s aswell as our forces are all trained and able to perform all operations with out the need of "special ABN and Marine" units..... dumb condescending americans

  • @BigSock099 True... true my brother.

  • @largerPOTATO huh? that doesn't make much sence!

  • @BigSock099 "most of their armed forces glory is made up" fuck off. You know who we call when we need close air support in Afghanistan? the Americans. Do you know who air lifted half of our shit to Afghanistan? The Americans. Show some fucking respect before you say dumb shit. And this is coming from a CF member.

  • @largerPOTATO mr potato... - how is that glory exactly? thats doing their job.. not glory

  • @BigSock099

You're just as bad as people bashing the Canadian military. Get off your damn high horse and find a little respect for the Americans who died helping to preserve the freedom of North America.

  • A solid, fine battalion.

  • if you can find a more trained and mre prestigous military force in the world then come back and try to bash canadians

  • Beautiful video, good lock a people which in are origin.

  • WOOOOHOOOOO IM PROUD TO BE CANADIAN

  • Good Bless 2VP where ever so dispersed - Be Safe

  • I still don't understand moving a proud Regiment like this from Winnipeg to Shilo. The base and housing still sits empty. We Winnipeggers are the poorer for it.

  • @juniorsurprise06 we regret it believe me, shilo sucks

  • @SuperDumaurier We miss you boys and will not not forget you. RIP my friend Norman McCowen (St. Vital Legion) who I asked what battalion he was with and laughed telling me "My dear boy I was with the Regiment (PPCLI) as they did not come up with Battallions until the youngsters were serving in Korea" he joined in 1936 and served until after WW2.

  • yo wats the name of the song you used

  • would be better with sound

  • yahhh!!! moving from winnipeg to shit ass shilo, shit ass base

  • the Korean Conflict may have ended very differently if the PPCLI hadn't held the line at Kapyong. I Remember Them! :)

  • @bearwalkerr let us never forget

  • @bearwalkerr the korean war is still not over there is still hostilities and there was no offical declaration signed to end it, and there is still a strong chance of us going back there, let's pray that doesn't happen.

  • AMAZING!! Truly captures the pride of the PPCLI, The sharpest dressed and the sharpest drill of any Regiment.

  • Thank-you for posting the video.

Above all, thank-you all for your service and sacrifice for Canada and its citizens. Even those who would criticize you are able to do so because you stand ready to protect their rights.

Kapyong isn't the same since the PPCLI left and the culture of Winnipeg is poorer because of your move to Shilo.

Thank-you for your dedication to duty, and may you remain safe and able to enjoy the love of your family for a very, very long time.

  • Thanks for posting that video and all the work that went into it.

Above all, thank-you for your service and sacrifice for Canada and its citizens. Even those who would criticize our members, do so because of your protection and ideals.

I wish you were still in Winnipeg, as Kapyong certainly seems lifeless without the PPCLI out on the square doing super-sharp drill, or seeing the convoy on the Trans-Canada heading to or from Shilo.

May you remain safe to enjoy the love of your family.

  • Look it up we are the best trained in the world and we got roughly the same equipement as americans. Don't believe me, do some research

  • Fail troll is fail.

  • what is with all of these army cadets comments on here saying how hard their training is .... the cadet training is a fucking joke compared to reg force bmq or biq is

  • well your right, but some courses the Cadets can be apart of are the same training as the Reg Force ( Para ) but yes for the most part Reg Force is WAAAY! harder than Cadets

  • you claim to be 22 - and army cadets are what, 12? Yeah, good way to be the soldier they want to emulate. Perhaps they deserve a better example.

  • wow your the same as every officer in the military your head is so far up your ass and you think you know it all ...you fucking joke i was just prooving a point the kids they think they have it hard

  • ''that ''

  • whats going on? what about army cadets

  • amen when the pat's moved away from winnipeg ot was the worst days of my cadets corps life for we roud to be afilliated with such a marvilus group. good wishes from @&)! PPCLI RCACC based out of the kapyong barrach winnipeg manitoba

  • 2 PPCLI eat Marines for breakfast. They are feared around the world, and renowned on the Reeperbahn! Well done, lads! 2VP '82-'89

  • i just gotta say... usmc force recon

    good job tho

  • I noticed that some of the ranks on the soldiers arms were on their Left arm i thought it was supposed to be on the right or is there a specific reason why it's on the left?

  • im an army cadet also...

in the Canadian Forces, thats navy, army and air force, the ranks are worn on BOTH sleeves.

while sea cadet wear ranks on the left

army cadet wear ranks on right

and air cadets wear their ranks on both arms

  • well, I'm with the CF, on our CADPAT we don't wear ranks on our sleeves.

  • what i meant was on DEUs..not on CADPAT...

on CADPAT...ranks are worn in the centre of the chest while on DEUs its worn on the sleeves of the uniform..if im not mistaken

  • im an army cadet also...

in the Canadian Forces, thats navy, army and air force, the ranks are worn on BOTH sleeves.

while sea cadet wear ranks on the left

army cadet wear ranks on right

and air cadets wear their ranks on both arms

  • Hey guys, I'm ex 45 Commando....did not realise............well you take your rickidumdah and stick it to the authorities. With my best wishes to you all from Stonehouse Barracks in 1968! Take care you geat guys! My heart is with you - PPCLI - what more can I say? Go get 'em Pats!!

  • Ranks dressed, bayonets fixed and Colours flying! A superb formation of men... GIVE EM HELL THE PATS!

  • Canadian soldiers are so tall.

  • It's partly the camera angle notice at 1:34 ish, how the camera is so close to the ground. but that only adds 2-6 inches so meh. Otherwise all of us are really tall. lol.

  • die please

  • die please

  • die please

  • You're missing the point: We carry on the scottish military tradition not because we want to pretend to be scots. We do it because it embodies valour - the willingness to lay down your life for your country.

And you are here denigrating their service telling me they're just pretending to be scots? How many Canadians spilt blood for your bloody country anyway? How dare you.

  • I guess the gaelic accent of the maritimes and the fact they celebrate wakes and play the fiddle came out of nowhere. Maybe they're more irish that scottish.

Simple fact, my friend, is that to understand a nation you must understand its historical context. Why does Canada have a British parliamentary system? What is our constitution based on? Why do we have a Queen? Why do we have Scottish regiments? Hmm let me think, I wonder if it has to do with our historical tie to the United Kingdom?

  • Maybe you don't know much about Canadian history and how influential Scotland was in it's colonization. Oh, let me think, great names like Nova Scotia, Calgary, Banff, the fact that there is a dialect of Candaian Gaelic, or maybe the fact that the Scottish Regiments helped originally trained the Canadian Army. READ A BOOK SON!

  • there not pretending ,we have Scottish regiments in Canada. xD

  • iam member of 241 rcscc arrowhead, support our troops and safe journey to you ppcli and to all canadian military members and thank you for ur dedication to keeping safe our borders from all thoes that wish to harm our citizens

  • i prefer the original parade music than add-on

  • Yes and Cadets are brainwashed it drives us guys nuts haha throw MOST of that stuff out the window if you join up. Of course your drill and basic leadership/teamwork will come in handy but my guess is that Cadets do drill every single time they go to their unit. The Reg Force is busy with many other things (training)

  • Good video, and being an army cadet we get told we sometimes do drill better than reg force and reserves well some of them lol

  • Don't think for one second just because your a "army cadet" you share half the hardship that a soldier goes through in his career.

  • Amen to that brother

  • If this is so, how come cadets fall like flies whenever they're at standing more than 10 minutes there, bud?

  • Yeah im an army cadet also and i just got back from 6 weeks at Vernon Army Cadet camp and we were doing drill when it was 41*C out lots of us fell like flies out there at about 20-30 min in but you know we don't share half the hardships of the CF soldiers but we do sometimes get commented on our drill occassionally. Even if we do fall like flies or stand at arms dress with our arm up for 5 minutes with some cadets putting their arm down because it was too hard.

  • You dont even share a quarter of what we go through, not even your so called "officers" there are times even a private can correct an OCdt.

  • I know and im not saying that we do share any of the hardships that you guys go through.

  • im an army cadet also, what course/company were you in this summer?

i took Cadet Leader Instructor Drill & Ceremonial, in GUARD COMPANY.

ya...us cadets..face NOTHING like the canadian forces does, and to tell the truth...in the CF, BMQ (Basic Militar Qualification, or basic) is 22 week now, while our CIC officers only take an 8 day course...

  • I went to Vernon British Columbia for Cadet Leadership for 6 weeks. I was in Charlie Company 11 platoon.

  • 22 weeks is inaccurate -> 13 weeks is the real deal. 22 weeks is probably BMQ + SQ but BMQ alone is 13.

  • oops my bad

someone i know told me it was 22 weeks

    :)

  • it's 14 weeks for BMQ...don't forget the first week of initial grace till shit hits the fan! lol

  • Oh yeah... Week Zero... ahaahahaha!

  • nono 22 weeks is not BMQ and SQ together.

when i go for armoured, SQ is only 20days, thats the same as infantry

    hollyy

  • im an army cadet also, what course/company were you in this summer?

  • lol you got that right buds there was times i remeber during basic hell even battle school when it would get so hot you'd be passing out during a march and you had to keep goin and it would be so cold it hurt to breath but ya still had to run your team is only as good as it's weakest member

  • wtf, you're making me dread it Q_Q

  • "As the maple leaf, so the sapling" very nice guys.

im in the Royal Canadian Army Cadets (3025) im starting to think of joining the reserves.

  • lol i think it's As the maple, so the sapling... im gonna join the reserves too and i'm in army cadets

  • I was sure there was a leaf in there i have it in my RCAC greenstar book but then again they made a few typo's in the anthem so it could be wrong

  • Do you have the old one or the mew one?

  • I think it's the new one

  • a los soldados los tienen pasando filo por que estan muy llevados

  • Scottish regiments though all of us are immigrants we suually just base our battalions by england...But one scottish regiment i forget the name has never lost a battle since it started up in 1900? ish

  • thank you very much

  • @88lostprophets88 canada's america's hat. lmao. we're always better.

  • @andyli916 you bring something up i said 3 YEARS ago, fuck off loser

  • Comment removed

  • @88lostprophets88 Yes, the Canadian military is a formidable modern military. Don't be fooled though and think that your armed forces are not fighting right along side all of the other coalition forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. (been there, seen it) People are quick to call the US "war mongers", but most countries are involved in military action around the world.. they just don't make it public knowledge like we do. I guess they can't handle it and would rather keep quiet about it.

  • Britain salutes the heroes of Kapyong!

  • Thank you. Brought back memories of being attached to Bumbling Bravo waincon 77. Memories of "the Bitter ole" of the odd evening spent in the Wo's and Sgt's mess or Officer's mess telling lies and rubbing shoulders and smelling like a man again. Most of my comrades are retired now. Good luck and carry on.

  • My Daddy was a drummer in the PPCLI - occupied Korea as a peace-keeper... Alas! The winds of change!

  • Memories...I remember when the Barracks were out in the boondocks...thanks 2nd Battalion, PPCLI.

  • they couldn't have picked a better song (wind of change)

  • i remember this i lived in winnipeg for 19 years moved to bc to be a doctor and then join the army as a medic

  • /salutes

  • y were they leavin?

  • We left Winnipeg because they moved us to Shilo, about 2 hours west.

  • I remember that
