  • True you always have to think the person your fighting wants to hug you to death. There for you have to train your lower body and uper body stance and dont let the guy grab you.If he has you on the ground in the first place you alreadly lost your pace.

  • OMG TKD guy doesnt even know Sprawl and he is in ring i train TKD i am a stand up guy but i know to Sprawl to avoid to get down ...

  • hahah but if u say a south corean soldier blackbelt in tkd itf to fight there, he kicks mma ass

  • Hey like Taekwondo, Martial Arts, and other cool stuff? Then check out my channel @TaeKwonDoJosh subscribe and ill subscribe back

  • what´s his name? ( tdk )

  • The TKD guy acted like his opponent wasn't going to do a take-down. In an anything goes fight, ANYTHING goes.

  • vertebras cervicales FAIL !!

  • There's a lot less TKD hate than I thought there would be. There is a reason people don't specialize in one martial art

  • They should bring in the ORIGINALS IMPORT DIRECTLY FROM THE EAST ;-)

  • the tkd guy was cocky and coming from a practictioner of the art itself, HE SUCKS!!

how did these guys end up fighting? I can see at least 20kg difference, sheer size nd weight are big factors on who wins and who doesnt.

  • @Smokeystyle With two equally skilled fighters size and weight make a difference, but in this case you could have given the tkd guy the weight advantage and he would still lose. Take Royce Gracie in the first UFC's for example. He owned everyone regardless of their size or weight.

  • wtf is not that good ,but itf teakwoodo is the real taekwondo !!!

  • Dude was way to small to be mixing it up with that big guy

  • TKD is absolute shit. period.

  • Big man vs skinny man, better title.

  • what a fucking pussy..crying on the ground..get the fuck up!

  • @krazzyyo2 may be the TKD guy has broken their neck

  • @krazzyyo2 Maybe you missed the part where the big guy fucking body SLAMMED his head/neck straight into the ground

  • Bitch ass throwing kicks around shiiiet!

  • he don't know how to protect his head while slammed down, that makes it even more hurt.

  • I was waiting someone shouts; "Rock Bottom! Rock Bottom!". He should continue with "the People's Elbow"

  • dont try this at home....

  • This is not a fair fight i can beat that guy

  • @Kariemyahia Which one, the TKD or MMA guy?

If you meant the TKD guy, I totally believe you.

  • @ThePinkMan Yes i mean the Taekwondo guy :)

  • i dont understand why tkd fighter kept holding on , it looked like that was the only reason the mma fighter took him up for the throw

  • @gonefishingstudios yes.. he doesnt know anything in the ground I think.. he was taken down, he did not have a guard on the ground.. the MMA fighter then passed it and went to the side control.. he kept holding on that is why he was slammed.. lol

  • IF THEY WANT TO FIGHT TKD AND MMA MAKE SURE THERE WAS A RULE... TKD IS JUST A KICK AND PUNCHES... WTF WHAT ABOUT MMA... GRAB THEN PUNCH UNTIL HIS OPPONENT DOWN...

  • el de mma no ganaria con las reglas de tkd lo digo xq soy practicante de taekwondo y mi hermano practica artes marciales mixtas y tengo conocimiento de las dos diciplinas

  • As a TKD practitioner, I can honestly say that I'm happy to have seen the MMA guy mess up the TKD dude like that. There's some seriously closed minded martial artists out there that need a wake up call just like this guy received.. At least it was in the ring, not in the streets.

  • @BayanAreef come on buddy.... this is MMA rules, not TKD rules, the MMA guy would lose so easily if it were TKD sparring

  • @Hem3fiction Of course the MMA guy would lose with TKD rules. MMA fights are closer (emphasis on closer) to real combat than TKD fights are.

  • Take out the referee and that's what an actual street fight looks like.

  • its funny taekwondo has grappling in it look up hapkido

  • Thats an unfair match!

  • @LorcRezKaze66 Royce Gracie had to deal with ppl bigger than him, however its also gonna depend on who has better jiujitsu.

  • the taekwondo man is to much bullshit

  • thumbs up if your watching this in 2011

  • old MMA was the real deal!

  • 0:34 FRONT KICK YOU DUMBASS -.-"

  • @LZMieczu

He had no time/he is not used to grappling so he didn't know what to do. He should have sprawled and get back up.

  • this is what happens when ur a pussy n dont want to stand up with someone.

  • @choyleefutkid1 The MMA guy could've knocked him out in one punch. The decision to go for the takedown was arbitrary. He could've finished him any way he wanted to.

  • @ThePinkMan sure, then he wwould of stand up with him

  • This fight is such bullshit. Even if Mr. TKD was MMA, the weight difference, on top of being rushed, there is just no chance. Mr. Fatass took a v-e-r-y cheap tactic on him, something he wouldn't have done so easily had he fought a fair adversary.

  • MMA e pra bixinhas que gostam de se agarrar

  • @diedrich92...guess what they had no weapons.just hand to hand combat

  • SMASH THE HEAD

  • in a street fight there is no wieght class..or style...you go for what you know.go fight and the best fighter won

  • @reed91478 if the small guy had a knife and stabbed the bigger guy would you say the same thing? "Well, in a street fight you never know if the other guy has weapons so the best fighter won". lol. But yeah the mma guy obviously would have won even if they weighed the same

  • thats wat happens when ur too agressive, thats why u see in professional fights the fighters size each other up first

  • AJAJAJAJAJAAJAJ bjj! is live!

  • He landed on his neck . Ouch .

  • Damn that MMA dude is a fatass

  • perhaps if TKD guy managed to control distance better and stay in offensive mode... Perhaps :)

  • the title of this video makes no sense

  • he knew he didnt have a chance at ground game so he had to take him to the ground, any pussy would do it

  • @DANKvideoproductions any person who's in the business of winning and making money.

  • @DANKvideoproductions Of course.

Like, if you are a boxer, fighting a wrestler, do you then try to take the wrestler on the ground, beause you will give him a chance or what?

  • @DANKvideoproductions wow, you're pretty clueless aren't you?

  • Counter Leg takes down is easy to learn...I'll fight again later...

  • looks like a 40-50lb difference

  • @dlygrisse1 Royce Gracie was often 40lbs less than his opponents but he still dominated them...

  • @URAGR8M8 yeah, but unlike royce gracie this guy had no experience in ground combat.

  • @dlygrisse1 So what if the other guy is 40 or 50 lbs bigger, look at Royce gracie, he had to submit people that were much bigger than him the point is if you don't know how to fight on the ground, you don't have a chance at fighting.

  • @dlygrisse1

I dont think thats what cost him the fight. If the TKD guy knew how to grapple, then he wouldnt have got slammed like that.

The TKD guys newbie ground technique was the cause to the end.

  • Are these fellows even on a same weight class? I don't think so..

  • LOL i wonder what happen after

  • Looks like an ogoshi to me

  • Lmao, that was like an embarrassing death you'd see in a mortal kombat movie.

  • None of them knew how to fight.

  • both of them dont know how to fight on the ground...

  • @todaman The MMA fighter did, he just wasn't taking the fight seriously.

  • mó diferencia de peso do karaí...o otro parece um mamute ...

  • uno se lo merecia!! y el otro que gano estaba en una posicion muy facil para hacer un armlock se nota que no sabe jiujitsu ese luchador de mma

  • :-D

  • Awww The tkd fighter deserve it ,like a whore asking to fuck a donkey for crack. fuck weight difference he know what he was doing....muahahahaha TKD is the best ptttt hahaahahah.

  • I'm a black belt tkd now, i know how whip my ass with my feet..cuz i can't use the art for nothing if i get mugged i give em my moneys..you playing the race card victim , but Korea love stealing culture from Thailand ,china, japan and phillipines, but I'm guilty for being racist awww shut the fuck up!!!

  • does anyone know hat happend with him after this painful event?

  • @Shugenjya I heard there was an MMA radio report that said he was OK. He never fought again, but we can assume he realized he didn't have the skill.

  • 555 TKD is soooooooo noooooooooob ฟักกิ้ง โมรอน

  • when your alot bigger and stronger than your opponent... you usually win.. lol tkd and other martial arts are useless if your to stupid to know how to size up your opponent.. what that guy did to the loser tkd guy took brute force.. not too much skill

  • Typical TKD fighter, not training ground game and ACTUALLY thinking TKD can compare to actual, useful, martial arts.

  • i hope you guys all realize this has nothing to do with TKD being bad. the dude got lifted and smashed on the floor. how many different fighters have been through the same? most videos i see of traditional martial arts failing, its always the other fucker diving in and taking the fight to the ground, but i never see the actual art failing. i see the fighter failing

  • @StopFlaggingVideos I don't know what fight you saw, but i saw a TKD fighter get his ass kicked. Coincidently, that is the last time i've seen TKD in the UFC...interesting...

  • What a painful way to meet reality! I hope the guy did not ended up with permanent damage.

  • awww fuck weight diffident the tkd guy went in there asking for it with his arrogance. i bet you don't see tkd fighter join UFC do ya

  • @TKDsuckass You dont see TKD fighters join the UFC because the UFC is for MMA fighters...

  • what a cunt, threw him down on his neck.

  • I really don't see weight being an issue here royce and of course helio fought guys more than over their weight class. People are to arrogant to incorporate grappling into their art. TKD and a black belt in GJJ and he would have done well he suffered because of arrogance.

  • wow, that guy is like double the weight of the other guy

  • -_- seriously???.....u big anti-maartial trolls really think that thats TKD?....omg what pepole think?.....that wasnt taekwond that was an idiot pretending doin the art....really a taekwondo guy would kik him in the head in like 3 secs.....and another think I AT LEAST know how to react in a ground situation and grabing stuff....my master made sure of it...like today i played for fun with one of my friend that do MMA... he grabbed me got me uo to the air i grabed his head and pwn him to the grnd

  • hahaha tkd, waste of time, money and energy

  • That's not tkd you piece of shit if it was the tkd guy would knee kick or front snap kick the bitch in the face when he lunged. Plus that guy is some mexican gypsy who doesn't know shit.

  • @xprtshad0wkill The front or knee seldom works against a takedown.

  • @ThePinkMan The guy is not even precise any tkd fighter has to have speed and agility. Plus it's all his fault because wth is that jumping side kick in the beggining. Everyone knows that one precise kick with enough force is a knockout. I don't see anything in the guy that is so called TKD.

  • @xprtshad0wkill Your response literally has nothing to do with what I wrote. I wrote that knees and front kicks are ineffective defenses for takedowns.

  • @ThePinkMan What do you mean ineffective one knee kick could cause permanent brain damage or even kill you don't know what you are talking about.

  • @xprtshad0wkill Well, then explain this:

    sdO2mGcd6oU

Rutten (Who has 2nd degree black belts in Taekwondo and karate, and was also a professional Muay Thai fighter) actually landed a knee when his opponent went in for the takedown. Not only did he fail to knock his opponent out, but he also lost the fight.

What I'm trying to say is that although the knee defense sounds good in theory, it has repeatedly failed when put to the test in real fights.

  • @ThePinkMan Ok whatever you say I'm not going to argue, Plus second degree means nothing a tae kwon do dude with just a black belt won the fight from a 2nd degree black belt in the turnament. All that matters is how much training you put in in whatever you practice. Do you watch anderson silva he will deffinetly say that knee kicks are important. One good knee kick to the head and your done.

  • Comment removed

  • wow, i am guessing that is his first time being hit; also, did you see the MMA fighter after, he actually felt sorry for the guy that got knocked out

  • MMa is all about ground and pound if it was a pure stand up fight i think teh MMA fighter would get owned....i've hardly seen any MMA fighters win by pure stand up

  • @Tenshiyami13 I doubt the MMA fighter would lose here. He has 91 knockout victories.

  • Man I feel bad for the Taekwon guy. He got crushed...

  • the title doesnt make sense

  • That guy was a bit bigger though, i would say a couple of weight classes bigger

  • Taekwondo biggest weakness is close combat such as grappling and even boxing. that's why it is encouraged for korean martial artists to learn both Taekwondo AND Hapkido

  • Look how much bigger the mma guy is to the TKD guy. Don't they have weight classes in this tournament?

  • @rabbit32073 Yes, but the TKD guy lied about his weight.

  • @Ljenkins9000 .........oookkkkaaaayyyy??

  • @Ljenkins9000 That don't make no damn sense, we can all clearly see the size difference between the two. He puts on paper he's 200lbs, and they just act like they don't see the size difference??? Is that what your telling us!?

  • @bigblackracoon Ljenkins may or may not be right. But either way, this fight took place in 1998, before rules and weightclasses were actually regulated in MMA. The promoters could pretty much do whatever they wanted to.

My theory is that the Taekwondo kid kept begging the promoters for a fight, so they just threw him into the lion's den just to shut him up. Believe it or not, this had been known to happen before. Look up Mark Kerr vs. Greg Stott.

  • TKD martial ART

    MMA SELFDEFENCE sport

    nuff said...

  • luta de animalll...para que isso???coitado do lutador de tkd

  • This MMA guy, looks like Phil Anselmo in the face.... xD

  • Any judo or jujitsu practicioner, even a beginner, would have known to employ a breakfall intjat situation.

  • this not taekwondo vs mma, this is a poor guy vs a fat bear

  • the guy outweighs him for starters. By at least 20 lbs. Lucky it wasnt ufc otherwise he would have gotn some smashes to the face before the ref got there and the dude would be in a wheelchair.

  • lol

  • K.O sahushashuahsuahusahu

  • hey guys check out this video, they are strictly using Kung Fu, no BJJ, you can see that traditional martial arts ***does*** have ground fighting. watch?v=q9Ef9hgkZVQ (just add that to the youtube url) just because they don't emphasize the ground doesn't mean they don't have ground/anti-grappling.

  • What happened to the guy? Did he break his arm or back?

  • why TKD always lose? this is very dissapointing :(

  • I'm an advocate in MMA and jujitsu being a part of that but the MMA fighter is way bigger than the TKD fighter. There is an obvious size disadvantage which makes this a horrible representation. For a TKD guy to agree to fight a guy not only trained in ground fighting but also a lot bigger than him, its plain suicide. The MMA fighter didn't even win by technique but by sheer size and strength when he body slammed him.

  • 1. This guy is a bad representative for JKD. Initiating with a jump kick to the head?? That's more like Bruce Lee the actor, not Bruce Lee, the martial artist.

    2. The other guy must have at least 50 pounds on him. No wonder he gets owned on the ground.

This isn't an achievement of MMA style, but a result of superior physicality and cage specific training. Street fights dont happen in that kind of environment.

  • @Haromane Royce fought with a 300lb disadvantage, the gracies pretty much proved it was technique.

  • Wtf is this... This isn't even a fight... I'm srry mma but forcing ppl to the floor while holding them isn't fighting that's just homosexual...

  • Except that something like 60-80% of real world fights end up going to the ground. Striking fights look pretty in movies, but a good fighter knows how to handle themselves in BOTH situations. I train in both TKD & BJJ for exactly that reason.

  • @vekaras in my experience real fights only go to the ground IF it is allowed to go to the ground. If you know how to keep distance, take down counters who can take you down? go for a low take down usually is countered with a straight knee kick to the face resulting in a ko. Coming in close for the grapple to throw is met with repeated cutting elbows to the face. take downs only work if the other doesn't know how to counter it. though i agree. Train for all situations is best.

  • @KensaiZen In my experience, real fights can end up on the ground whether you want them to or not (And even if you know what you're doing). Even in pure boxing or kickboxing matches, fighters still end up clinching inadvertently, and the same thing happens in the street. Knees suck for takedown defense because they leave off balance and you can rarely knock them out in one hit. All that stuff sounds great in theory until you're pinned to the ground and getting your teeth knocked out.

  • @ThePinkMan strangely enough in my experience I have been able to use the straight knee kick quite effectively against someone trying to come and grab my legs. what made it work even more effectively was the fact that i was moving directly into them coming forward making even a glancing hit stunning them completely. Once stunned it was just attack attack attack, don't stop striking till they stop moving. simple as really. though it depends what you have trained for.

  • @ThePinkMan if you train for grappling, most likely you will try to counter takedowns and locks with more grappling. Strikers also train for anti takedowns, though with sport trained arts they leave it out due to there being a ref to seperate them. Next time you see someone lunging for your legs or waist, just move in with knee up and see.

  • @KensaiZen The problem is that strikers won't understand the mechanics and nature of takedowns if they don't train them. It's a lot easier to counter takedowns when you actually know when they're being set up and what it feels like to have someone try to knock you off balance.

Anyway, knees have ALREADY BEEN PROVEN to be ineffective compared to sprawling. The knee was a legal counter in PrideFc and Vale Tudo, and still is legal to some extent in the UFC. It's just a hail mary move.

  • @ThePinkMan Thats ok. I'll stick to what I know and works for me :) Different people train for different things.

  • @KensaiZen Unless you're actually testing your techniques against qualified wrestlers during training, you still don't know what works for you and are just playing games.

  • @ThePinkMan and how often am I going to find a trained and qualified wrestler out on the streets? ok thanks bye

  • @ThePinkMan heres some other points of reference. Hermes Franca vs Sean sherk. Knee's beat the take down. These people have trained to use both. At the end of the day it depends on experience. Have you trained to counter take down with knee's or you haven't and trained for a different method. distance also plays a very important part, and like I said if you keep your distance, you can see it coming a mile away. All depends on experience :)

  • I'm sorry about that TKD guy :/

  • If you have time to really "fight on the ground", you shouldnt be fighting at all. real fights dont have multiple rounds while rolling around on the floor mopping it with sweat.

  • @dcrt75 Shit happens, fights spill to the floor. In a perfect world you would have complete control over every violent encounter you're in, but that's not how it works. Grappling isn't some esoteric strategy that only happens if a BJJ practitioner is involved in a fight. It's a reality of combat, whether in the ring or on the street.

  • OH MY GOOD the tkd fighter its ANDRES INIESTA!!!

  • what happened to the TKD guy? I mean, how is he doing now?

  • Fatality!!!!!

  • The TKD guy should have known better to throw a kick or get out of the way before he got tackled. Oh well

  • Well I made Tae Kwon Do for 4 years myself and to be honest TKD is really good for lifting the toiletseat with your feet xD

  • @guetoxX i done it for 5 year, i can whipe my ass with my feet and lift my toilet too.

  • @TKDsuckass Cool

  • @TKDsuckass One word, seven letters: R E S T E C P!

  • @angeldanny87 tkd suck ass ptttt ...what now ?are you going to cry?, i think you going to cry btw you misspelled respect ..ah nvm i don't want to get you angry.

  • @TKDsuckass Dude don't pay these chumps any attention, they still think TKD is actually useful on some level...

  • @zacktillery No they asking for it , so i bring it.. they created a Monster muahahaha..i get attack by tkd douches every fucking day slightly criticizing them. so i grew tired of there shit. every style has explanation but tkd they teach you shut your mind like a cult..

  • @TKDsuckass They're weird, and they're ALL together it's ...really weird haha

  • @zacktillery I took tkd before i wasn't allow to talk about other arts...the Korean tkd teacher said "tkd best art and omg i hate krav maga " ..and kids lesson where kids "you musta behaving while mom drive car"

It's like why he don't teach kids important stuff.

  • @angeldanny87 Emm... maybe I quoted some dude named Ali G, maybe I don't like tkd and don't even practice it and maybe your comment made me laugh... that's all, stop being so pessimistic about everything :) get laid, I dunno, do something about it! Cheers!

  • @guetoxX indeed it is nearly 10 years ago i practise tkd, but i still lift toiletseats with my feet today.

  • @guetoxX I never done TKD and I can lift it without any struggles..

  • @waaromleefik2 I didn' t say it' s the only possibility for being able to do it. I only mean it' s usefull and if you want to, you can also use your feet to turn on the sink! :D

  • @guetoxX Ookay, gotcha :DD

  • Can't you see that they're not the same weight, this is fucking ridicuolus

  • @betosolana

Because in real life, we all get to choose who attacks us and their weight as well.

  • @betosolana

Because in real life, we all get to choose who attacks us and their weight.

  • is he dead lol

  • hes got like 60 lbs on him...

  • This is what happens when your opponent can lift you in air with one arm...

  • @jogadorlobinho Yea ik he prob didnt mean any harm it was just heat of the moment i totally understand i hope hes ok too.

  • huge weight difference!

  • hahaah he was doing a ghetto lock haha and his face ... haha fucking stupid rex kwan do dickhead

  • I love tekken.

Say something i will kick your ass. :l

  • MMA broke his body
