Thanks for the video! Really considering getting one of these! I bought an LED TV that has no network capabilities and I have of course an Apple TimeMachine that has a 2TB harddrive. I would LOVE to be able to access that HD directly from the TV! Is that what I could do with this thing?
@jwadleigh1 That's a good question, I'm pretty sure that's exactly how you're supposed to use this thing. I haven't really tried to use it for what they've meant it for, I'm more interested in getting under the Linux hood and toying with the hardware platform. You could always ping HSTI about it - though so long as you enable "Windows File Sharing" on your mac, this should work for what you have in mind - so long as your TV supports playing content right off of a USB Flash drive / memory stick..
@DocDawning I just pinged the company to see if I can directly access my (sorry it was a not a Time Machine) Apple Time Capsule that has a 2TB internal drive. It would be awesome.
I agree with you on all the other stuff you say in your video. Would be cool to under the hood of this and its a very powerful product. I am not a UNIX hacker but I think the product has huge capabilities. I also read from their website that they are intending to add features like DLNA, online content and more.
