  • bad cover.

  • ahh kinda hoping youd also do the next solo too :/

  • that guitar is a thing of beauty

    nice performance

  • thats fucking awesome!

  • You shouldn't pick at legato

  • fucking great

  • thanks a bunch!

  • Grat song and amazing Gear!!

    I wish have it sometime...

  • =P thanks!

  • so why not use the 4CM? does the amp sound worse that way? i'm courios cause i have a gt8 and want to get a new amp.

    cheers.

  • If I use the 4CM I can't use ANY of my effects except for like the wah and whatnot, and even the wah sounds terrible.

  • yeah, BOSS is the best! Kaoss Pad is kinda cool too.. you should try one sometime.

  • yeah I love Boss, I'm very happy with the GT-8. Hmm I'll have to try to Kaoss

  • yeah, the moderators are really good, you should plug it up in parallels to get BOSS - Kaoss transition.

  • do you use the four cable mode with the gt8? or do you plug it just in the FX loop and use only post preamp type effects?..

  • I just plug it into the FX loop. It's frustrating though because I can't use the wah.

  • hey I have a dual rectifier and its not really working for me. Ive been looking at this amp and it sounds a lot smoother. If youve ever played a mesa how would you say it compares? and how is the 6505+ on picking noise?

  • Yes I played a dual rec before I bought the 6505+ and I couldn't get the tone I wanted. It was too harsh for me. The 6505+ is very smooth and ballsy. BUT, don't expect to get nice cleans out of the amp, because you won't haha. The picking noise is pretty quiet, but you can still hear the attack, which I like. I hope this helps!

  • definitely (fast reply too lol) are the cleans bearable? and I guess you think I should ditch the mesa and get the 6505+? (by the way I run a gt-8 too and was planing on getting the 1960 cab)

  • The cleans are bearable, but don't expect something like a fender deluxe clean haha. I actually played a Bogner at Guitar Center the other day and it was fantastic. Next time I go I'll find out what type it was and let you know. That amp blew me away.

  • Possibly an uberschall or caveman maybe? those were on my list of amps to try but they are so expensive lol. The only bogner's guitar center sells new I believe are their alchemist series

  • Great cover man.

I have a question about your guitar. Does mystic dream reflect different colors with the lighting?

  • Yes sir! The paint is phenomenal in person. Thanks for commenting!

  • mal empregadinha guitarra

  • holy shit whats your setup/settings? i love it !

  • well i pretty much just have my gain at 7 and my lows, mids, and highs half way on a peavey 6505+

    Im glad you like it!

  • Wow man. That was a sweet and saucy tone you had there! Very nice performance. As overrated as Petrucci can be, he's still underrated in many ways too. His tone is one of the most perfect tones I've ever heard, and the fact you damn near duplicated it gives me hope. Now I know that not everyone wants to dime out their gain and volumes, and scoop out the mids! :]

    Great video, dude.

  • Thanks a lot man! Yeah his tone is absolutely godly. Haha nope gotta have them mids in there to even out the tone!

  • u are a awesome motherfoker

  • Gread vid dude :)

  • Thanks man!

  • Ok, now instead of telling us about yourself Niko, you wanna comment about the incredible video?

    Faggot.

    Well done guitarstar38.

  • Hahaha I love it, thank you very much vonsn. I hate when people just leave comments to put people down on youtube, but there are always good people like you to stand up to them.

  • good for you to have enough money for gear like this...

  • Haha thanks yeah

  • what do you think would be a good noise gate for this amp

  • Hmm it's hard to say, I haven't really fooled around with noise gates. I'm sure whatever Boss has out for a noise gate would do just fine.

  • boss ns-2

  • The IPS Decimator is better.

Although, It really depends on how what you play. If you play alot of high end metal gain stuff, then the IPS. But stuff like this, you'd be fine with just the BOSS NS-2

  • ISP Noise Decimator.

  • you should try recording yourself with a microphone or an interface into your PC. you cant really appreciate your tone and playing with the tiny microphone of a camera.

i can see youre a good fan of Mr.Petrucci haha got the foot on a chair and everything .. Nice playing dude ;)

  • Yeah I can't do that because there's no room for all of my equipment in the computer room haha. But, I just recently got a Shure PG57 mic, so I should be all set for recording. If you check out my 'Dreams' video I used an external mic hooked up to the camera and it sounds much better. Thanks for watching! ;)

  • oh truue .. i know what you mean. i used to have to stacks, a marshall JCM2000 and a Marshal JMP-1 rack unit .. and it was so hard to play with them in a 3x6m room lol

Check out some of my videos if you like, they might be a lil different from what you play but it may give you some ideas to your playing

    cheers ;)

  • Ah alright I'll definately check them out.

  • nice playing dude. im thinking about getting either this amp or a mesa dual or triple rectifier. Have you played the mesas? Any comments on which is more worth the buy?

  • Well, those were the exact 3 amps I was choosing between and I chose this. I honestly think you should go with the mesa, there are more channels and if you're looking for that rectifier tone then you can't have any better than a rectifier! :)

  • Can you please play this without all the garbage effects? I'm trying to hear the amp tone but all I can hear is chorus verb and delay.

  • 1. All I have is a little bit of delay

    2. Natural reverb comes from the room, I can't change that

    3. You can't judge the tone of an amp on youtube, it isn't the same as hearing it in person, I'd suggest going to Guitar Center and trying the amp out in person

  • Hey Vinny!

I have a question: I see you are using a Marshall cab with this amp, a lot of other people in youtube use these amps with 1960 cabs instead of the matching cabs. Why do you like this cab better? What kind of speaker?? Thank you!

  • Well, it's not necessarily that I like it better. That was just the cab I happened to buy. I really love it though because it has a nice bright sound to it. I know it has Celestions, I'm not sure which ones though, sorry. Thanks for commenting!

  • The 1960A has G12-75's. I'm getting a 6505+ soon and trying to decide whether to go with V30's or G12-75's. Nice playing man ツ

  • Sorry I took so long to get back to you, but yeah I haven't played my amp through anything other than my cab yet. I'd actually be very interested to hear it through a mesa cab in person.

  • nice playing..BUT..is showing off your gear and everything really that necessary? seriously, come on, lets be a little more modest?

  • Dude I'm honestly the least show offy person ever, I hate show offs. I'm just telling people what my gear is so if someone has the same gear they may want to know my settings, which a lot of people have asked me for. And if you mean I'm showing off my gear in the video, dude, all I'm doing is playing in front of the camera, what do you want me to do, put a cover over my gear or something?

  • Jesus. I think I will just stick to rock solid rhythm. You own, duder.

  • Ahh thanks a lot man!

  • well mint mate

  • Thanks man!

  • You have the 6505 or the 6505+?? cause the 6505 have a 1/4" jack...thanks anyways and show us more! great skills man

  • Ah I have the 6505+

Thank you very much, I'll be sure to post more vids soon!

  • Amazing.. can u use the amp control jack (gt-8) with the 6505?? thanks

  • Thanks darkaim1928! Well, you can't use the amp control jack unless you have a cable that adapts a 1/4 inch jack into a 7 pin DIN plug.

  • Excelente !!!!!!!

    Very Good !!!!!!!

  • Xelo8- Thanks for watching!

  • I see 4 things in this video that tell me you're huge influence is Petrucci.

    1. The song

    2. The guitar

    3. The strap height

    4. The the propped left foot

Can't really say no shoes is a petrucci influence though... Haha.

  • Rockonforever88- Haha good observations, I like that. I have no idea why I didn't put shoes on when i recorded this haha.

  • this is cool... kinda cheesey with the whole petrucci left leg up... haha...

  • Dude! VERY impressed here!...nicely done! i honestly have never tried to copy a Petrucci solo..he is so above me it sickens me, lol.

how is that Petrucci guitar? i have been seriously thinking about getting one. they look and sound amazing...great job man!

  • No you're soooo good, you could nail a Petrucci solo with ease. The JP sig is so awesome, I couldn't even describe how good it is, but, it's extremely easy to play, it's light, has great access to the upper frets, bridge stays in tune perfectly, the middle position on clean is unbelievable- very sparkly and bright, and not to mention it looks awesome!

    Thanks for commenting!!

  • Simply Awesome Vin!!!!! Teach me.

    Bob Bonvino

  • Please you have to get a new camera, so your tone will really stand out. It sounds really good though.

  • yeah i just bring my equipment to my grandparents house and my grandfather records me, we don't have any fancy camera... but my grandfather is amasing with electronics and computers and so on, and hes working on hooking up an external mic to the camera, cuz the camera we're using now only has 2 soundholes for the speaker :P

  • A mixer will make you sound 100x better at least. I'm not sure about your financial situation, but if you have a JP you must be ok. The Alesis i|o2 is good and cheap.

  • Fingerboy18- Thanks for the help, but actually for Xmas i received a Shure PG57 mic, and my grandfather figured out how to hook it up to his camera, so my new videos will be much better. I'm going over there this weekend, so I'll make some new videos.

  • very very well done

  • hi bro.. you're doin awesome!

btw, i wanna ask you a question bout your guitars, how do you like your Axis? is it good? do you think the Axis, if compared, could hold it's own to the JP6?

I'm planning to buy a guitar, actually i wanted a JP6 since a year ago, but it's out of my budget :( and my interest has driven me away from 'shred' guitar to 'hard rock' guitar..

how do you feel of the axis neck? does it feel good for shredding? how much less shred-able than the jp6?

    thanks..

  • Thanks man.

Actually, that Axis is an OLP. I routed out for and installed the Floyd Rose myself, and I put some Dimarzio pickups in it. It's great.

(I have to put two different replies because I couldn't fit everything in one) haha

  • The real Axis does not compare to the JP. The JP has 24 frets (2 more than Axis= more freedom and access), its extremely comfortable with the sculpted armrest, it has perfect intonation due to the compensated nut, and the bridge and locking tuners help keep the guitar in perfect tune even when I divebomb. The Axis neck is comfortable, but the JP neck is thinner and easier to shred on.

  • never heard of a guitar with perfect intonation :P not logical.. your talking about the buzz feiten system which all new EBMM's have.

  • no mine doesn't have the buzz feiten, im positive, and believe me my JP has amazing intonation, pretty damn close to perfect

  • very good man!..

  • How much do one of those EBMM Petrucci's go for?

  • well depending on what options you get, its around $2000, thats how much mine was

  • if you do honor thy father, ill do an internet jam with you.

  • Sweet, it'll be coming soon. I've never done an internet jam, what do you do? Is it pretty much self explanatory?

  • Man, great sound, great skills, show us more!

  • Thanks! Actually I'm workin' on all of Honor Thy Father and also the Glass Prison arpeggios. I'm gonna put Glasgow Kiss up soon also, but I'm just too lazy to record it.

  • Wow, Honor Thy Father and Glass Prison are really cool! I've got the JP signature guitar too, every options, and it's so cool. I recently got a digital camera so I'll try to post some videos as well, but most of the stuff I know isn't 100% perfect and I'm reluctant to post those videos.... it takes time to nail a JP solo/lick perfectly!!! I wish I could quit my job and just play the guitar.....

  • Ahh nice! I love the JP it's amazing. Yeah JP's stuff is hard, you just gotta take your time.

  • Gawd. Dontcha just love the JPM. Ive got one too, but havent seen it for 6 months because EBMM still has it bc of a heel/pocket crack.

  • Ahh man that sucks! Yeah I absolutely love mine, it's the perfect guitar for me and Petrucci's awesome. I've heard a lot about those pocket cracks but i don't have any in mine luckily. Good luck with your JP and if you would please comment back when you get the guitar back because I wanna know what they did and how it looks. Thanks

  • not bad dude, i have a 6505+ and 1960a myself, can't go wrong with that setup. btw could you tell me your amp settings

  • i know i love it, its a great setup. my amp is on the lead channel and the settings are: low- 8 mid-7 high-6.5

  • it sounds like you are a little behind in speed. but what do i know? im a drummer :P

  • hahaha im not, my video camera separates it like that for some reason

  • hey what are your settings/parameters on your gt-8?

  • i dont have anything on my gt-8 in effect except for delay, and i have the volume on this patch turned up a little more than my regular amp settings for my lead

  • I truly, deeply envy your gear! T.T

  • me toooooo ! T_______T
