And to the whole "Malmark or Schulmerich bells" discussion: the Schulmerich bells do NOT sound "thin". They have a much warmer and more well rounded sound than Malmark. Our choir has used Schulmerich bells for over 20 years now compared to that Malmark bells sound very metallic. I would always prefer Schulmerich.
Handbells :*) such beautiful music in 5th grade my school was hosting a handbell choir it was 5th grade only and you had tohave goodgrades andbehavior and i got in i played the C4and D5 i wanted to do the big onesbut dang thoseare heavy! Wesounded beautiful but not ascloseas these guys :D
it's not conducive to turning the sheet music pages especially for the big bell @ 0:40 but all due respect it sounds great! i thought the guy with the dickie-bow dropped his bell near the start
saw them at a Prairie Home Companion performance in Ann Arbor.. An amazing performance of Bach's Toccata and Fuge in D minor. They were Great! Nice to see them again Thanks for posting!!
Is this a commercially available arrangement? I would be a challenge for our choir, but we've been known to tackle a challenge from time to time. Either way, I'd love to suggest it to our director!
The bass bells are the only Shulmerich handbells on the table, the rest of the set is all Malmark. You may be hearing that, I don't think you would be the first to call Shully bass bells "thin" sounding. They are in fact several pounds lighter ;-)
soo soothing..

@timtoring -- this was released as a VHS recording; I'm not sure how it was digitized, but that's why the sound is less than optimal.

Their bass bells sound really funny. Very thin sounding. What's up with that?
