I've had them. They are fresher than cripsy creme because the toppings are freshly made. They taste kind of like cake and are very sweet. Only problem is that the line can go out the door for an hour and the place itself is very small.
@uhohstop Thanks for the info. How's the texture and "chewiness" (as you say) of donut plant's donuts first thing in the morning when they're the most fresh? Here in Bermuda our donuts aren't even fried, they're baked and are the artificial pre-mix kind. Those are the most popular kind.
But some of the bakeries that that DO fry them up here , you can still taste the oil. It's gross. I'd call it greasy extra chewy sweet dough. Totally disgusting.
@BermudaEntrepreneur ive tasted their plain glazed donut, their mango frosted donut, and jelly-filled. the texture is chewy but not in a bad way, like bubble gum. it has a nice "give" but it doesn't just break apart like cheap spaghetti noodles.
If those donuts are too oily, the people frying them likely didn't have their oil hot enough. When oil is the right temperature, it pushes moisture out of the food which keeps oil from getting deep into it.
@uhohstop Fast food franchises are outlawed here, so I'd have to open up my own bakery. Have you tasted their yeast and cake donuts? That's all I'll ask. Thank you for your reply. Hopefully I can travel to NY soon.
@banhcanh123 Thank you. Well, even if they aren't, anything beats a nasty Bermuda donut. I will travel there first thing in the morning someday. I'm a donut fanatic!

@toxicmegacolon When you say they taste like cake, are you referring to the CAKE donuts, or the traditional staple yeast donuts?
