  • i wanna smack the little girl with the pamphlet.. Twice

  • I understand that these whales wouldn't survive in the wild because they were born in captivity. however, the original capture of their parents should never have happened. and instead of living in an oversized fishbowl, this calf could be swimming in the ocean with its mother.

  • @maryoverboard Pretty sure he/she IS with their mother. They don't separate families. They breed the whales and the parents are still there with their calves. You can often see calves with their mothers and even entire families/pods.

  • @Teamsong1 thanks

  • i know some whales were born in captivity i dont think captivity is great. i know they cant survive. but i just want tilikum free right now.

  • hahaha theres tilly in the backround! :)

  • @iluvtilly2 Ehm, no? This is taken in San Diego and Tilly lives in Orlando.

  • @iluvtilly2 Tilly doesn't live in san diego

  • dogs where wild once to, do you want them to be free as well.

  • @emmarocks Dogs are smaller, and most dogs aren't kept in a small place.

  • @B4Malfoy same situation. what about a fish in a domestic fish tank

  • @emmarocks Orcas are known to be more intelligent than a fish. In my opinion they can't be compared. We have no idea how smart these animals are.

  • Come on people!! these animals were born and raised in captivity, and that is their permanent home, and will probably miss the company of people if let free in to the wild. Besides, the ocean will be way too scary, and most of all, THEY CANNOT LEARN HOW TO HUNT.

  • @PunkRockGirl326 YES! i TOTALLY agree with u!!!!!! :)

  • @iluvtilly2 also, i is DEFINITELY not being cruel.

  • Kalia ! :) ♥

  • the kids should b their trainer

  • sooooo cute! ;D

  • a killer whale can be set free they have killer instincts and they always manage to adapt - as a group they can manage

  • @mylofox2020 what makes you think a group would accept another orca?

  • hes opening his mouth cause he feels like eating them and throwing them about. kids annoy killer whales so does flash photography, silly loud music - seaworlds are full of things that whales just dont like - its like after a while they get bored, f ucked in head and start really disliking their trainers and where they are at - and they just scream now and then to want to get out and be releases cause they've head enough of someone milking them and making them do silly tricks for money

  • @mylofox2020 its not easy to release a whale, how are you going to teach it how to hunt, throwing live fish in the tank? the ocean is not the same size as a pool...finding food in the ocean is harder than people think it is, i wish they were in the wild to but its harder then ignorant people like you think!

"making them do silly tricks for money"- they are not forced to do the tricks, if they dont want to they dont have to! what is the trainer going to do? educate yourself

  • @theicebabe Hahahahahah. SeaWorld have NEVER gotten a dolphin from the cove. They stopped capturing from the wild 30 years ago. Get your facts right before you mis-educate others too. Go to their YouTube channel, and watch the video "Investigation of The Cove Part 1". THAT is the truth.

  • I wisth here change part. people is stupid.

They understod, to delphin is not dogs.

  • Most of these animals could never be set free, but they shouldn't be at SeaWorld. It's so far removed from a suitable enviroment. Cetaceans are among the animals that are least suited to captivity. It's strange that whenever people talk of land animals in captivity, their arguments are not about a grotesquely small cage vs setting them free into the wild with no surivival skills. Both sides would be seen as insane to argue from those extremes. So why is this the norm regarding captive Orcas?

  • it watches them to do show :D

  • awwwwww :)

  • look guys if you dont like seaowlrd haveing whales then DONT WATCH THE VIDEOS!!! its tht simple..

  • Well they should not have been captured in the first place you retard. So dont justify this solemn excuse for entertainment. Its sick. Fair enough those kids dont know any better but the sooner this stops the better.

  • I saw Baby Shamu last time I was at SeaWorld

  • You think it's "cruel" to save whales? These animals were either rescued or born there. And they grow strong bonds with their trainers. A lot like how your dog grows a stronger bond with you when you teach it tricks.

  • @7391j they weren't rescued. they were taken away from their families at a very young age. and yes, the others were born there. they have these instinct but have no idea why they can't act them out. it took a long time to domesticate dogs to what we have now. you think after just one generation of breeding that the whale is gonna completely forget about their instincts? yeah, good luck with that sea world.

  • to say that the captive born calvs don't know about the wild is like saying a captive born tiger believes it should be in a zoo. they're still wild, they still have instinct, and they DO know they don't belong there. and it's our selfish behavior that takes away that poor animals natural environment. breeding in captivity is just as bad as capturing an animal from the wild.

  • @TheWhaley6 mkay so your saying just cause we have a pet dog it wants to be free too like they used to be? or a bird wants to fly in the sky? or a rabbit wants to be in the fields? or a horse wants to run free? at what point do you guys call having animals justified..makes no sense. i think the whales are perfectly happy and they get taken very well care of....

  • @Cranma5678 you can tell when a dog, horse, bird, etc is unhappy. like when a bird stops singing or a horse stops running or eating. how can you tell if a 8,000 pound killer whale is unhappy? it kills it's trainers. time to change some things when the whale kills the thing it "trusts" the most. there's nothing wrong with keeping them in captivity--as long as the conditions are similar to their natural habitat and are big enough. you don't see zoos training their lions do you?

  • how inhumane. the people in this video are clearly very ignorant. disgusting.

  • trainers say that for the most part the whales are VERY happy because they are praised. MASSAGED. FED FISH FROM A BUCKET... THEY WOULD NEVER GET THAT IN THE WILD!!

    I love shamu!!

  • @MadisonLane121 - Your ignorance is very clear. An orca doesn't need "massages", "praise" or being spoon fed. These animals are denied EVERYTHING that is natural to them, and that, in itself, is cruel. They are wild creatures, and if one truly loves them, then you would respect their need for space, freedom, and a stable pod.

Yeah, the trainers said they were happy. The tobacco companies also said cigarettes didn't cause cancer.

  • @FreedomForOrcas i agree 100% with you. its sad how selfish people are in this world.

  • that is so kool

  • Every Orca born in captivity receives an automatic life long jail sentence with absolutely no chance of parole. This is not a domestic reared animal but still an instinctually wild animal cast into a Circus environment.

  • How cute! Took so much interest in that stuffed shark lol.

That little girl that suddenly popped up with the stupid paper was annoying.

  • i bet shamu want them for lunch.

  • poor orca's :( they want to be and hunt see lions not nasty fish -.-

  • @TheMonkkiller Ha, Most of the killer whales at seaworld are either icelandic or N/S resident. Only transient orcas hunt mammals. Some pods ONLY hunt fish..

  • so cute but they deserve 2 b free!

  • This is a sweet video, kids are so innocent. But I also feel bad for the baby whale.

  • The kid who threw the hat was ignored once Shamu saw the shark

  • He just want to eat you.

  • nahh ,he dont , if you are bully'ing it than it will kill you but otherwise they dont seem to like humans for food , they are just curious and residents are friendly to. I think it should be free in the wild but that also counts for zoo animals.

  • thats like teasing the orca it thinks the shark is a fish for food

  • Aww, I hope the keepers treat them well. They are so intelligent.

  • They don't deserve to be there but it's nice to see them friendly. You still can't completely take the "killer" out of Killer Whale..

  • stupid yanks........its not cool...set the whales free

  • They are so smart and beautiful I feel sorry for those whales.

  • omg that is adorable <3 love ittttt

  • They're smarter than people give them credit for. I hate the women who said "he's like 'oh it's a fish!'" Thinking that this animal is only concerned with food like how a dog looks at you while you eat. But they're not dogs, and they can't be domesticated (and the ability to learn tricks and be nice around people is not being domestic) They know what they're looking at more than we do. They can see right through us, they can see our heart beat, they can see if we're pregnant, etc

  • Comment removed

  • @RoadlessPath the little killer whale seems healthy and slightly entertained by the children.. i think it goes both ways.

anyway i am still shocked by the fact that one lady went ''look it's a shark''

  • God I realy hope the woman who said "Look its a shark" was talking to the baby whale about the girls toy

  • she was talking about the toy

  • @whalelover120 i noticed that after i hadn't even noticed the girls toy the first time i watched this.

  • @Kuriix I believe that she is referring to the shark toy the little boy has, as in she is tell the Orca that this is what a shark looks like.

  • @daytrippervyr Yeah i guess that makes sense never thought of it that way. it already seemed odd to me she would teach her kid that's a shark

  • they get lots of time to rest and they rnt tortured so dont go saying things u hav no idea about i kno because my friend works there and is a trainer

  • @RoadlessPath

Shut up, idiot. Get your lowly view of human existence out of here and go to North Korea.

  • @v01741r31

Why should I go, when I enjoy irritating you.

  • dieses video ist ist cool.

  • did that lady call the killer whale a shark?

  • wow.. he just go up for breath and come back ! :D i'll be there next week!

  • the poor whales don't belong in captivity, whne people bang on the tanks it messes with their echo-location. Plus they have no where else to go to get away from annoying people.

  • yea right... :\ damn.

  • @14dlns but you cant put them back into the wild once they've become accustomed to being fed.. especially ones who where born in captivity... they wouldnt know how to hunt for food in the whild and wouldnt last very long

  • I totally agree, I think Seaworld, and aquariums like it should stop artificially inseminating them.

  • did you notice how he opened his mouth when the kid waved the stuffed animal shark the orca must have thought it was food

  • well that is the best observantion

  • The most intelligent creature in the ocean...I wonder what orcas think when they see all these people. Are they observing our actions just as we're observing theirs?

"That little female human keeps waving that piece of paper around. I think she wants my autograph...I'm sorry, little human! I can't give you my autograph, because I can't write! Because I have no opposable thumbs! Man, we need to get some of those. We'd be running this theme park in no time."

  • this is a bit harsh teasing the whale with hats and a dolphin if i was that whale i would of gobbled them kids up thats afer i have broke the glass lol

  • u would hav effectively just killed urself by breaking the glass

  • but i would of still got the kids lol

  • aww kalia is to cute

  • How is a captive-born animal going to survive in an ocean they've never seen?

  • Maybe they don't KNOW what an ocean is....

  • i understand that, but a lot of other people don't. they see these videos and say "the whale wants to be free, etc., etc.", not realizing that some of these whales were born in these parks, and don't know anything about the wild.

  • yeah but do you think he would love people pressing their noses up to the tank and flashes from the camera, always people around their tanks, if you bang on their tanks they can hear it across the other side. Besides no one knows what they prefer...we don't speak Orca.

  • @snizzlefrazzy and maybe some dont want to leave

  • @snizzlefrazzy If they were just left in there rightful place there wouldnt bee that debate

  • @JoshBraunz You're right. But, they're here and we can't just airlift them out to sea and drop them in the water. Look at Keiko. Sure he was returned to the ocean and interacted with wild orcas, but he never actually joined a pod and continued to seek attention from humans

  • @snizzlefrazzy They need to take them out of the gulf, but teach them tricks? Really?

  • @snizzlefrazzy

But it isnt right to take those animals in a park. It doesnt matter where he is born.

THIS isnt the right way... animals for entertainment - its totally wrong.

I hope the time will come humans stop taking animals in those parks

    to entertain each other.

  • @DracoAlexstraza most of the orcas living at Sea World parks, were born there. Sea World no longer captures orcas from the wild

  • how's aN unborn human baby is going to survive in a world they never seen??? HAHAH wut an idiot...

  • @snizzlefrazzy i agree!

  • It is my one main goal in life to one day go to sea world and spends HOURS just playing with the orcas.

  • ok this is why kalia is my second favorite killer whale at sea world san diego....this is like the fourth video i've seen with her interacting with kids....she is so wonderfully curious and cute......it was kinda sad watching her try and get the toy fish thinking it was a reward for her though

  • at least these kids aren't bangin on the window like the jerks in the first Free Willy movie! i think this is cute!

  • but still, the noises they are making such as laughing and talking is defeaning for the whales, they have very sensitive hearing. So at the shows, the music and screams of the public must be horribly deafening.

  • yet...th whale dsnt seem to mind n comes bk repeatadly...

  • please read 'the case of marine mammals in captivity' its on the web for free reading, please take a look, you might just learn the truth.

  • Kalia, what a playful orca girl calf

  • awwr i do love whales :)\ x

  • aww cute. the poor whale thinks its fish.

  • this video almost brought me to tears. nature is soo beautiful and evryone should be thankful we all get to enjoy it (:

  • nature is beautiful in nature, not in a tank. Nature is sad and destroyed when in a tank. Killer whales are who they are in the wild, their rightful home.

  • Thats what i always feel,I get sad every time i see an poor orca stuck in a tank,

Maybe the baby orca wants to break free to the ocean

  • exactly. Finally someone understands! :)

  • yes,i wish that they woud release the baby and all the other orcas,i woud feel so good

  • all orcas, especially Lolita should be retired and put back into the ocean, their rightful home.

  • rigth,I mean that all the orca shoud go home to the big blue ocean, hunting fish, seals and sharks and enjoy theyr free life

  • exactly.

  • well a lot of the orcas are born at sea world and have no clue about the wild

  • that's not strictly true. please read the case against marine mammals in captivity. its free read on the internet

  • @bumble1995 exactly.. you cant put them out into the wild cause they're used to being given their meals instead of hunting for them... they wouldnt last very long

  • It almost seem fake its so cool how he fallows their movements

  • aww poor whale, can't eat the hat thinking its a toy or fish

  • Orcas are dolphins.

  • you're absolutely right! :)

  • aww Kalia is so cute!

  • That is so cool!!! 5 stars

  • "Shamu" died in the 70's. but to avoid confusion, that is all of theyre stage names. the real names are-

San Antonio - Kyuquot, Keet, Unna, and Takara

San Diego - Corky, Kasatka, Ulises, Orkid, Sumar, Nakai, and Kalia.

Orlando - Katina, Kalina, Tilikum, Taima, Kayla, Trua, Nalani, and Malia

  • finally some1 who knows what there talking about and not just saying silly things....:P

  • you are an AIDS out crackwhore

  • aaaaaaaww :) cute<333

  • 5 stars!!!!!!

  • bubbles :)

  • there are only 2 seaworld's in the US and both of them have the same names for the killer whales but there is only 1 true Shamu, the one in Florida, with the other killer whales that have the same names as the San Diego sea world

  • You forgot the one in Texas!! o.O

  • Theatremagic:

The first Shamu died many years ago. Shamu is just a show name or a "Last name" for the Orca's now.

  • There's actually 3 Seaworlds currently in the United States, Orlando, San Diego, and San Antonio. There is no Shamu, the original Shamu died at Seaworld Sandiego in 1971. Today it's just used as a stage name for their popular "Shamu Shows", all of the whales have their own individual names though :)

  • No. Sea World San Antonio in Texas. And they have theyre own names, but on stage theyre all "Shamu" so they dont confuse people when one dies. Yes, the one who started it all was"Shamu" theyre real names are - Corky, Kasatka, Ulises, Orkid, Sumar, Nakai, Kalia, Kyuquot, Keet, Unna, and Takara.

  • No, they get fed all the time, not just at the end.

  • Cute! The lady walking right in front of you makes me so irritated though! How rude!

  • I was going to comment with the same thing. Some people have no social regard whatsoever.

  • thats so cute. i think the whale is the one being entertained

  • That is an awesome view. I would like to go to Sea World, but that takes money and I don't have any saved right now. LOL!

  • I woulda cussed that red head bitch out for standing in front of you like that.

  • Thats so nice..

it must get abit crazy somtimes for the orcas..

with all these ppl jumpin and screamin u cant blame the whales if they do.. do anything Shocking but yes there lovley

  • it is NOT sad that orcas r bred into captivity we get such a special moment if we ever get 2 c them, plus it helps 2 protect them in the wild & really shows the beauty of them inside & out!

  • i am cring

  • i mean crying

  • THATS SO CUTE

  • i think it tight these whales could obviously never go bk to the wild they too soft but i truley think that after these ones they should stop addin more i really do say no of them bred they should not be pushed to n they should just let them fade frm sea world altogether its just mean xxx

  • they dont add more, simply the ones in captivity bread, and well you cant seperate a baby from its mother can you?

So there borin into captivity, its quite sad really.

  • Lol I would be scared they would burst through the tank xD

  • isn't that white line there for a reason? To stop people walking over it and crowding/teasing the whales

  • why does everyone assume its teasing and that its so terrible!!! baby shamu is probably enjoying that! Just like when you tease ur dog with toys by playing tug of war. the dog loves it!!

  • i totally agree with you that they just cannot be put back into the wild its like putting a human beeing who was born in a big city into the jungle. he never would survive

  • Worse than that they trust humans and the Japanese would butcher them....so they need to stay where they are...

  • THEY WERE BORN IN CAPTIVITY YOU CANNOT JUST PUT THEM BACK INTO THE WILD. Besides the killer whale program and holding tanks @ san diego zoo are the best in the world, this isnt china, we arent feeding cows to tigers, this shit is the best of the best.

  • u said it bro

  • so cute!! Get them out of there

  • get them out of there? where would you send captive-born animals?

  • LOVE it! It's so adorable!!

  • They shouldn't be in captivity!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would bet anything that the orca thought that the little boy's stuffed dolphin was a real fish! And probably thought he was going to give it to him too! Too funny.

  • WOW!

    How cool is that!

I didn't realise they came right up to the glass and waited around like that.

Shame about the old hag that came along and stood right in front of you there.

  • I love watching little kids being entertained(:

  • lol. They were having a show at the time, weren't they? :P

Kalia is adorable... she loves kids.

  • That red head got right in front of you! How annoying...

  • This is a cute video, although I hope that ignorant woman apologized for walking in front of you. Just gotta show you HOW RUDE people are some times.

  • that is the cutest! thank for sharing such a cute video...it made me smile.

  • It's so cute when she blows b
