@ceredigio the figures are not to do with the instrument. They are just sat on the plinth infront of the organ as a suitable place to display them. Years ago they were exhibited elsewhere in Thursford. They're from some old fairground ride.

Hooghuys organs are known for their lightning fast actions, and their very pure, clear sound. Although this one was modified rather radically from a dance organ to a fairground organ, I am glad to hear it still sounds great. Thanks for the post!
I saw one of these this summer and stood in front of it like a 5 year old for several minutes. My music teacher boyfriend wanted to walk away, lol.

This organ was built in 1908. I am not sure if the two figures on the front are original. Can anyone enlighten me please?

One of the best sounding band (I'm from the states) organs I have heard on video. It must be amazing to hear it in person.

@dalekbitch I believe the Hooghuys at Thursford thats being restored was built around 1914 or just after the end of WWI
