  • I saw one of these this summer and stood in front of it like a 5 year old for several minutes. My music teacher boyfriend wanted to walk away, lol.

  • This organ was built in 1908. I am not sure if the two figures on the front are original. Can anyone enlighten me please?

  • @ceredigio the figures are not to do with the instrument. They are just sat on the plinth infront of the organ as a suitable place to display them. Years ago they were exhibited elsewhere in Thursford. They're from some old fairground ride.

  • @pianolasociety Ah right, thanks! I used to have an old 70s/80s Thursford guidebook and they are not shown in that organ's picture! Wonder what ride they were on?

  • One of the best sounding band (I'm from the states) organs I have heard on video. It must be amazing to hear it in person.

  • fantastic organ

  • Sounds great!

  • Blue boy I am sure this is one of George Cushings Organs .its in wonderful tune and I am sure operated by Ken

  • That is one nice organ! =]

  • thanks to all who commented, it's nice to know somebody has liked it.

  • Hooghuys organs are known for their lightning fast actions, and their very pure, clear sound. Although this one was modified rather radically from a dance organ to a fairground organ, I am glad to hear it still sounds great. Thanks for the post!

  • @KawhackitaRag I didn't know it used to be a dance organ! Can you enlighten me further?

  • Excellent arrangement played on a stunning organ, I love Hooghuys organs!

  • this is the 101-key Hooghuys organ at Thursford in Norfolk

  • @dalekbitch I believe the Hooghuys at Thursford thats being restored was built around 1914 or just after the end of WWI

  • not all that big.just close up.sorry

  • that band-organ looks big??...

  • thanks for comment, i know very little about music ,i just really like it . band organs are beautiful works of art and the music sounds wonderful.

  • Under the Stars, arranged by A.Schollaert! Nice arrangement, and the plays rather well!

  • @bietebouwer Who composed it? Quite an unusual title for a march!

  • @ceredigio ...I have the name Oscar Weiss, but I'm not sure if this is correct ...
