@Savetheturtles80 Hi, yes any mash including beer, or wine will have it, and thee is also acetone, esters, aldehyde, propanol and yes you still have to get rid of and this is not that hypothetical 100ml as volumes of processed of mash are may vary from couple of liters to hundreds of liters so the amount of this impurities is different from distillation to distillation from 100mm to many liters and proper fractional calculation must be applied every time to remove it correctly.
Is any methanol produced when you use a sugar/water mash? Do you still have to throw out the first 100 ml when it's distilled?

@sylvanenergy No, just normal tap water - I will distill it later :-), you can let it settle a bit if in your system some chlorine is used.
