Extremely happy skill points are now a thing of the past. It really wouldn't have seemed like a new Diablo game with the same skill setup as the previous one. I imagine it will be equally as revolutionary as D2's skill tree was. Long live Blizz!
For all good honest folk there's only one option left: Hardcore. Sure it would suck to lose my character but at least I won't have to play with cheaters and use an obsolete market
I think the d3 devs would save themselves a lot of grief from adding a rune recycling system and random rune system etc if they just fixed the skills to be useful throughout the game (not so easily replaced) and/or just added more skill points with less benefit, but enough that you could *specialize into your flavor* be it crowd control, damage, tanking, etc.... I can't believe they haven't figured this out by now.
Removal of skills is such a piss off move. I am unbelievably mad right now. IMAD. IRMAD. DANG IT. I want to build my characters, I want my skills to be useful the entire game (as opposed to skills just REPLACING other weaker skills, how stupid), and I want to pick my flavor, and not just scale up statically per level and RANDOMLY find/equip runes and be stuck with a rune recycling system... just because they've failed on creating a skill/skill point system to begin with.
@chipmanman1 I agree, it seems like the game is getting less and less about customizing your character and more and more about being generic with all characters fairly similar, like wow.
@keekool Actually it seems its about getting more and more customization on what your actually seeing/doing than whats behind the curtain, honestly im glad there trying to change from d2 because if they essientially remade the same skill/stat point systems it would lead to the same kind of character customization as d2 and would just bore the shit out of anyone who played d2 a crapload, also It seemed as if they put alot of time trying to make it so theres like 193,028,512 builds for each class.
The RMT will have not change the game as we know it. Diablo already had real money transaction. It was all done across third parties. The difference is that people can now legally trade their items, but it's only that; trading.
Eve has a similar system; people can sell PLEX that they buy for real money and get a load of in game isk. So far, it has no messed up Eve's economy. In fact, Eve economy is still one of the strongest out there.
So get a grip, people, this is not the end of Diablo.

I don't know if i'll even buy the game now :( I feel like they have completely ruined the game with no customization anymore.
