  • how gay only tech would do that

  • So clever i sould have thought of this myself

  • That was so awesome. As for "defacing the field," we put down a tarp when we took the field, and picked it up when we left. It's not like we dropped shakers on the field and left them there for someone else to clean up, as Georgia reportedly did at Auburn.

  • This was a legend that I heard when I was in the band in the late 90's. Cool to actually see it.

  • Hilarious!!!

  • I remember when this happened. They were booed not only the entire show, but then they played at a Falcons game later in the year and were booed there as well. Covering up another teams logo on their home field seems pretty disrespectful. But whatever, UGA won the game. I Tech thought they were so clever when they did that lol. Dont forget who runs this state nerds.

  • To Hell With UGAY!

  • I don't think the U[sic]GA rednecks were booing the band... I still don't think they have gotten over the loss of Hee Haw and were booing that. It was just a coincident.

  • I was there and they deserved every minute of booing they got...who goes to an opposing team's stadium and defaces their field?!? Oh yea, GT does...that's their style! Go Dawgs!

  • To Hell with Georgia!

  • Well now that I think about it.... the motivation behind it..... jealously. They couldn't deal with looking at a testiment to a better program. Gotta suck when the person you're obsessed with is not obsessed with you. Oh well.

  • clean old fashioned hate

  • If you boo them, you only make them stronger. I'm in the band and I'll take being classless as a compliment any day if its from a U[sic]GA fan. Someday, a UGA student will do something funny and outlandish and you'll know what it's like to be GT fan. Then you may understand how fucking awesome this was.

  • This stunt was awesome, just like your record against Georgia the last 9 years. Please help me by the way! As a collector of rare and valuable items, I'm looking for one of those rings yall minted after the 08 victory over Georgia. Why is it a collectors item? It commemorates an event that happens about once a decade.

  • This was awesome.... the balls kids used to be allowed to have lol

  • you georgia fans need to grow some balls and RESPECT these musicans...ass holes.

  • I still stand by what I said. true though...you sould not boo anyone we all work as hard as GA does. besides most GAtech students are really smart!

  • that doesnt really look like the G they have now... is it? or was it a different one?

  • That was the year that many college football teams in the south were celebrating their 100th season. The logo Ugag used that year said "100 years of Georgia Football" in an oval instead of their Green Bay copy oval G.

  • Thanks so much for posting this! I was in the trumpet section, and I couldn't even hear the cannon we shot off at the end of the 1812 Overture! :) Funniest thing I've ever experienced. We lost the game, but we won half-time!

  • Who won this game

  • i think UGA, im not sure tho...

  • I'm suprised there was not a riot!

  • I was at this game as well. I was visiting a HS buddy of mine who was attending UGAg at the time. We sat in his fraternity's block. I didn't hear a single note. Good stuff

  • One of the most awesome things I've ever seen.

  • I was at the game and laughed my head off. Go Tech. By the way, I was on the GT sideline and NEVER heard ONE SINGLE note. Go Jackets!!!

  • Too much culture for UGA (sic) I guess. ;)

    To Hell with Georgia!

  • To HELL with Georgia!!

  • Hahaha! Classic! To HELL with Georgia!!!

  • This video was originally provided by Jeff Brandon. I don't know who took it.

  • My father, Bob Brandon, shot the video. He was able to get a ticket last minute and knowing what we (the band) was going to do, I sent him with a video camera. The rest is history. It goes down as one of the best all-time harmless pranks. I still have the original on VHS-C. We still like to say it put Lewis Grizzard in the grave.

The "Tarp" or turf was originally painted for the 1991 Kickoff Classic in the Meadowlands to give the band home field adavantage over Penn State. Didn't work!

  • To Hell with Georgia

  • @patrickbiltgen gay tech's mascot is the vagina
