I was just watching this video and reading some of the comments here. I really can't believe some of the stupidity found in some of these comments. AIDS is a group of symptoms from an immunosupressed person from HIV viral infection. Having antibodies to the HIV virus in the blood doesn't equal immunity. Depends on general health of person and where in the world they are. Without any therapy could be only 7 years from infection with HIV to becoming sick but can also be longer than 15 years.

Life is not that simple. It all depends on what you mean by generalised. We have seen extensive spread among heterosexuals in Russia for example - accelerated by other epidemics among injecting drug users. There may be special factors in Africa. There have been recent reports suggesting that there may be some genetic susceptability in some populations. There is still much we do not know about HIV and how it spreads in different populations but good news is spread globally is slowing down.
