The best way to deal with that guy is to remind him that those people are not protesting him or his service to his nation. They are protesting the war itself -- which begins in the American culture.
Soldiers do not cause the war; they are like firefighters rushing to put it out.

He was very angry. I tried to tell him that he was actually crying instead. War can be heartbreaking. It's good when soldiers break through the anger to the tears. That's healing.

I'm am by no means trying to start something or be an ass, but I'm not even a soldier and I get mad when I see people preaching about how our soldiers are bad people for killing. They go out and fight for you every day, at least show them a little respect (they are the ones allow you to keep your freedom of speech)... If you honestly believe you would be fine without them fighting for you, you need a reality check. You haven't seen what he has. And if you had, I'm sure you'd go crazy too.

If there's anything they want to blame, it should be war. A soldier's life is not his own and he does not kill for the sake of killing. His orders given to him are absolute. I take neither side myself, but I can't deny the fact that our troops are people too and they don't deserve this kind of disrespect and alienation.

Also I can definitely feel for this guy, I am in the Military but DO NOT have PTSD. Look, what is my job in the Military? I support soldiers by taking care of their wives / newborn babies back here on US soil, if I was suddenly out tomorrow and people were talking crap about anyone serving I would be just a pissed off as him, but I probably wouldn't handle it the same way. Don't get involved in something you DO NOT understand, we signed a contract and have the obligation to fulfill it.

Yes, some people joined thinking it was to save America only to find out the problems were much deeper, but saying no is not an option when you can get kicked out and given an other than honorable discharge when you say no, which looks bad on that person forever. They should do away with general discharge and just make it Honorable. No one deserves PTSD for not wanting to ruin their hire desirability for when they get out of the military.

I can't even count anymore the amount of times I have seen not only my loved one who has fought in Iraq and his fellow soldiers and myself as the loved one of a soldier get spit on flicked the middle finger and given dirty looks and told we are animals by liberals. I give much support to the Iraq Veteran who went off on those liberals. They don't know what goes on over there, they have never had a loved one over there fighting in this war and they have not had to stay up late many nights after the loved one comes home after fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan and hold their soldier and let them know they are home and they are safe and that you got them. Our Troops and their families get shit on by liberals every day. God Bless our Troops!!!!!!!

If they're not insulting soldiers, if they're not insulting the sacrifices we've made, and they're just wanting War to end.. Let them protest. It doesn't hurt anything for people to want peace, that would be the whole point of peace. I won't obviously ever protest the War, but I don't see harm in letting others.

I was not a POG, nor am I a "Hippie," I don't smoke pot and I am fully retired from the Army and again, I love the military and I believe in what we do. But we fight for freedom do we not? Hmm Maybe I should also explain, I have two purple hearts. My legs were shattered by a suicide bomber, I was set on fire, and shot in the head arm and back.. So I'm no stranger to combat. But again, I'm still proud to say i fought for this country, and that I've bled for this country.. I'm just so curious to know as to what was on the signs.. But I do think Jasonturner2 was right about one thing.. Saying the guy is off his meds? That was just pure speculation on the camera man's part.

Hey brother. I was a little confused. What did their protest signs say exactly? Obviously peace, love, and things of that nature..But, What exactly did they say/?? I'm only curious cause when the soldier lost it and was screaming, one of the protestors yelled at him "Go Get your gun Johnny, Go get your gun!" hmm who's Johnny also? Just curious. I spent two years in War including leading in the invasion.. So I love the military and I'm very proud of what I've accomplished through my time.

2. The current US military is not fighting for any of our rights. Human rights and liberty are extremely important to me, not just for American's but all humans including Arabs.
3. When you say "leave politics to their rightful owners" you make no sense. Those owners are us, the citizenry. It is up to you and your comrades to decide to act rightfully in time of war, the Nuremberg trials make this clear. Be a free responsible American, not a tool.

The lady should not have argued with the soldier. The onlookers should have attempted to de-escalate or lower the signs that they were holding. I’m sure that there is a 50% chance that the protesters young grandchildren, nephew’s nieces will fight for the USA in some future war and may have a different view in the future. Why bring all the memories back by telling the world what happen and go through pain? You ask too much of us but all we ask is to support us. You do not have to support the government but it is the soldiers out there fighting for your freedom so you wont speak another language.
