  • Meraviglioso...

  • amazing what can be done when you slow tape down or reverse it..phew, what next, in focus?

  • so beautiful.........she IS a godess

  • in the movie, it has to do with erotica as we see it placed on a woman's breast. and finally the peacock feather is a symbol of royalty as the woman/Sayat Nova's muse was a Georgian princess.

obviously different symbols can have different meanings for everyone, but generally i think these are the right ones.

  • the advancement of the Persian army. Also notice his palm is dirty. it is probably earth, and red, red for blood.

the flowers are beauty, for he was a poet and beauty was something he clearly could well appreciate. the candle looks like one you would find in a church, therefore = religion.

the lace is something we see the woman weaving and later in the movie it changes colours (from white to red), it might be a symbol of the love between her and Sayat Nova.

as for the shell, we see it earlier

  • @astghikaguero Don't tell anymore... You're killing one of the most important things in art: the mistery and the curiosity.

  • the book and pen he is holding - obviously the literature in which he was immersed.

the cups, one with earth the other with grain - simply the earth, to which the armenian people are very connected

the lavash bread and the earth - food and our lands, both of which we need to survive

chicken, and i think he's holding his kamancha/musical instrument in his other hand - animals which we need to live as is

the skull in the helmet - might be the foreshadowing of his death, for Sayat Nova died during

  • can someone please explain the symbolism

  • @artur8188 art is about whatever you can make of it. When it's really abstract, it's more about what you can make of yourself.

  • the people who are think that this crap is a piece of art should immediately consult a psychiatrist.

  • Brilliant and wonderful !

  • honestly. i could watch this movie. on repeat. over and over. until i either die, something breaks to make it impossible, or i fall over and pass out. I don't understand HOW TO love something as much as I love this entire film, from Child swinging to the Burial

  • what is the actors name in the beginning?

  • HOLY SH*T IM TRIPPIN FACE!!!!!!

  • Beautiful.

  • it is beautiful to watch, but it doesn't make sense.

  • a poem in movement

  • Damn, i thought that was a guy, a beautiful guy is a womaaan! Life is just not fair....

  • @Serpentarius666 As a guy who digs androgynous women... score!

  • The whole movie plays like this clip. For those of you looking for a plot, look elsewhere.

  • @Platsick it's a woman. She plays several roles in the film

  • totally my bag.

  • what is that song called? It's very beautiful!

  • this is like watching a dream in real life

  • @Araxii ah hahaha so true!

  • One of the most extraordinary, original and stunningly beautiful films in cinema history

  • yet what the fuck is it?

  • @mizofan what makes this shit beautiful? there s absoloutely no sense in this shitty nonsense where a man is holding cups / hen/ stick ....

  • @mercede75 "no sense in this shitty nonsense where a man is holding cups/hen/stick" < buddy, first, read some literature. second, look up the world "symbol." third, finish high school. then, rewatch this. maybe if he were driving a car you'd understand sexual/masculine symbolism, or if he were having nails put into his wrists, you'd understand that as Christ-like, right? Well, just because you don't "get" these connotations, being so removed from Armenian culture, doesn't mean there's less sense

  • @blindmansarrow very true glad someone said that

  • @blindmansarrow

    he is from Pakistan ;-))))

  • @BeautySavesWorld who is from Pakistani culture????

  • @blindmansarrow

The guy who was slanderring off this movie...

  • @blindmansarrow Symbolism is meaningful in some context. Without context it is complete nonsense.

Nails into wrists ... show this to some African tribe and you think they will understand your symbolism? I have read literature, and the work of some of the greatest people in Art. Whats Armenia? a country in Russian region. Why should anyone be bothered about its culture if "Armenian" are so defensive about it
