  • ewww, that shits nasty get a powerbook g4 instead. damn ugh im gonna throw up shit all over that ugly shit

  • can u get windows xp or vista the g4

  • G4's are a completely different platform. So no, Windows will NOT run on G4

  • @FutureiMacuser it can if you have virtual pc 7 for PowerPC macs

  • @vantageIIx

Yes, but the way he contexted it, was running it native. Which is a no.

  • @FutureiMacuser oh yeah, you're right.

virtual PC 7 runs so slow on a g4 its completely unusable anyway :)

  • The PowerMac G3 and G4 look better than the G5 and Mac Pro case. In my opinion....

    Anyone agree or disagree?

  • In a way I agree but still...

The G5 and mac pro case looks more practical and it LOOKS more powerful!

  • Good point. The G5/Pro cases look more powerfull.

I just think the G3 and G4 look more for the home user.

  • well, er.....NO! however it is still a stunning machine, way better than any pc case!

  • Well you do have a point when you say:

"way better than any pc case!"

  • I think the Mac Pro case could use a style change, starting to look over used imo

  • I think the G5 looks newer, but the old powermac G3s and G4s are still nice and better then a 400 dollar PC right now.

  • True "nice and better then a 400 dollar PC right now."

  • i agree, its the best desktop case design ever made. I have the gigabit ethernet version.

  • Umm. what are talking about, the macpro case looks clean and simple, the way mac's are and should be. G5 FTW

  • holy cow i love yur hair

  • man i just bort 50 powermac G4s after the police seized them hopefully get £100 each on ebay!!!!!!!!

  • dannggg big box :P

  • dude your hair back then wow emo-ish

  • awsome machine

  • awsome machine

  • You didn't even know what system you were getting? lol?

  • juuuust kidding but that mac pro is way to fucking old

  • hahahhah g4 completely failed the market+ it runs like shit

  • islamisit12,

if he can't afford a G5, how can he get PS3, PS2, LCD Tv, iMac Aluminum, Powerbook 17", Nokia N73, Acer notebook?

  • nokia n73 sucks! XDDD (i have it and its slow as hell, GETTING A IPHONE!!!!)

  • oh right he had iPhone but it died and then he got a iPod Touch.

  • and iPhone.

  • Maybe because this was the last PowerMac with upgradable processors...?

  • He got it for like 75 on ebay..that's cheap.

  • Why not? I bought a PowerBook G3 and G4 off E-Bay to go with my Black MacBook. The G3 and G4 are still able to do alot, hell the G4 can be upgraded to Leopard which is why Macs rock!

  • But the performance is probably terrible. Sure, Steve SAYS that Leopard can be installed on any Mac made several years from 2007, but why even do it?

  • umm, actually, it isn't, it's quite good actually, Mac OS doesn't have the system requirements that Vista has and for that it runs faster, a PowerBook G4 comes with 512MB of RAM but can be upgraded to 2GB which is more than whats needed cause Leopard runs fast on 512MB of RAM and it comes with a 1.25Ghz PowerPC G4 Processor and Leopard can run on a 867Mhz PPC G4 and it can also be upgraded to up to 2Ghz G4 (if the processor uses the same socket as the one it came with) so it'll run pretty fast

  • Yeah, for basic web surfing and app running. But for doing intense vid editing in iMovie 08 and iMovie HD and such, your system's gonna move considerably slow.

  • you obviousely haven't used a Mac, you can't do intense Video Editing with iMovie, it's for people that do casual editing and btw, if you upgrade it you can run editing software fine, your just trying to make Mac look bad, Macs are not PC's ok, we can run things that are high-end without needing the specs that PC's need to run it, Final Cut Express runs fast with 1GB or RAM and a 1.6Ghz Core Solo Processor, again, i urge you to stop arguing cause i know more about this topic than you

  • I'm not an anti-mac person just for the record. I was simply stating that an old G4 wouldn't perform as good as a brand new PowerBook or an iMac. I'm not trying to make them look bad. You probably DO know more about the topic and I love to be corrected but you don't have to go assuming I'm a PC fanboy. And don't deny it either because you would've spewed it at me like a curse word in the next reply. When I get the money, I'm getting a Mac.

  • ok, gd, no problems and yes i did think you were a PC fanboy so sorry :( my bad, anyways, i can help you with your new Mac, what will you use it for? and do you need a laptop or desktop? there are some great deals on eBay

  • Well my eyesight isn't the best so I wanted to get a 24" screen or atleast a 20" screen but I don't want to get anything ancient either. I'm contemplating on a white C2D iMac or a 24" Aluminum iMac but I'm not sure. Then again I could buy a PowerMac G5 with a 24" Dell monitor and save money but I'm starting to get a bit confused. I'll be using it for serious video editing and LiveType effects. But if I got an Intel Mac I could always run VMware Fusion...

  • you should get the white 24" iMac because you'll save money and it comes with a 2.16Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and you can upgrade the RAM to up to 3GB of RAM which is great for editing and you can also get Final Cut Express for video editing and Apeture for editing :)

  • Yeah. I think I'll like Aperture very much. Danny even says he loves it. From there i might get myself an iBook or PowerBook G4 and set up an old WinPC as a media server. PC's aren't COMPLETELY useless. They just have a spot for different things.

  • ok, i was at eBay and i saw an iBook G4 for $600, specs are:

    1.33Ghz PPC G4

40GB HDD, can be upgraded to a bigger 2.5"HDD

    Airport Extreme

    Bluetooth 2.0

    Mac OS X Tiger

512 MB of RAM, can be upgraded to 1.5GB

    This is a great deal

  • Good but I'd rather get it from a trusted dealer like Power Max. They have great used Macs for very cheap.

  • ohh, Power Max? never heard of them, anyways, gd luck with that :)

  • Yeah. They're a great company. Google them.

  • wow man, their prices are gr8, they have a 24" Core 2 Duo iMac there for $1550 a new 24" iMac costs $1800

  • excellent, though if you can get a 1.42 that is far better, and may may come with a 60gb hdd. I'd reccomend valuing RAM and battery over HDD space though, as a HDD can be upgraded quite cheaply and externally also, RAM is quite deer and battery life is usually of optimum importance for a laptop, especially of the 1.33 's age, if used alot and not properly maintained - though ibooks fair much better than other laptops

  • why didnt you get a mac pro?

  • dude r u rich all summat all i can see is all hi tec stuff

  • hey! we got the same chair!!!! that blue one

  • did you record this with your imac

  • HI Danny, What model powermac is that? I heard there are quicksilvers and so on but which is yours, and if i was to buy to upgrade which model should i look for thanks :)

    P.S. Love teh vids :)

  • it could range from agp graphics to digital audio models. Quicksliver is the best model to choose overall for upgrades. MDD would be good, but the nuances make it very difficult.

  • Like the video, Upgrading G4's are fun and costly, lol. I upgraded my quicksilver to dual 1.8 ghz. Good luck on yours.

  • Thanks for advice, ill look into this in the future :)

  • I notice you stepped up a gear with the quality of your videos adding a bit more personaility towards them. Your vids have always been cool anyway so keep at it. And try not to get worked up with all the haters that try to mock you, take it as a good sign.

  • Sweet! Can't wait for the upgrade video. I upgraded mine on Sunday and made a video, but I'm having trouble uploading it. They certainly are easy machines to work on.

  • Great vid and good luck upgrading! One suggestion for a future video might be to fade out the music before you start talking. You don't have to, it's just an idea.

    Keep up the great vids!

    Tim

  • Hi Tim, Yes, I've tried and I can't find it in iMovie 08 lol. Does anyone know how to do it? thanks your comments everyone! Danny

  • just s you know, if you put a HDD drive bigger then 128GB in there, like a 500GB, the mac will only recognize 128GB of it. unless you buy a pci card slot loading hdd connection thing and hook up the HDD cable into there, then you will get the full HDD space. just FYI. i had the same problem.

  • Aha! - that explains why I only saw 128 of the 160GB disk I put in mine! - thanks for the tip!

  • lol yea. is called a Ultra ATA 133/100 controller for Mac or something similar. your smart youll figure it out right. lol. anyway, arent i subscribed to you?? :)

  • Yeah - checkout my new video - I put the new disk in - guess I wasted a bit of it :-)

  • lol, watched it already. anyway, pretty cool. it was up for 38 mins already before i watched it though. guess i missed it lol. just came back from bestbuy. pretty cool how they have a mac store in there lol. easier for me to mess around with them new imacs.

  • Also consider putting the names of the tracks you use in your videos in the description if you don't mind.

  • wicked danny nice video

  • cool man cant wait good luck upgrading it

  • Goodluck

  • cool i am the first

  • nice one danny!

    hope you succeed upgrading it
