  • I dont think this girl really understands how these religions work. Honestly the Catholic Religion as a whole does not care about the Bible. It is not Christian, and most likely has some hidden doctrines where sexual abuse is correct. Unfortunately the Law and the people who work for are controlled by the Catholic religion and would never allow itself to persecute or sue itself.

  • lol, the covert protection of the pope. the vatican's delta squad starring chuck norris as arch bishop mccarrik.

it has been countlessly proved that most "protection" the sex criminals received were from local governments - police chiefs, judges, and mayors protecting the priest that probably married them.

You should read articles in full before you make a video next time.

  • I totally agree that we should give the Catholic/Christian Church complete immunity to anything we reason to them (sarcasm). They just dont like their own reality and buy into the fake one that has already been made for them. I feel bad or most of them because by now theyve been born into one of these families ( i was born into a Catholic family by the way)

  • @victorianlulu "Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye when men shall revile you and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad; for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." [Matthew 5:10-12]

  • Really

  • Nice boobs

  • "For me, God is in my life. I don't hide from that." Ringo Starr

Isn't that wonderful! God bless him!

  • @gogreen~ Also, John's grandfather had a brother William who was a Catholic priest in England. Ringo Starr has reveled "He has found God." Los Angeles Times.

  • @gogreen~ George Harrison came from a devout Catholic family. John Lennon was raised Catholic, and his great grandfather was Catholic from County Derry in Ireland.

  • @gogreen ~ By the way, I love your Beatles shirt. Did you know that Paul Mc Cartney was raised Catholic and his Irish roots have strong ties to the Catholic Church? His mother was a staunch Catholic. Some of The Beatles songs include powerful and touching hymns to Mary and to Creation. ~George Harrison was also baptized in the Catholic Church. John Lennon at one time, became a Staunch advocate for the Rights of Catholics in Northern Ireland, and gave financial support to some Catholic priests.

  • The holy Catholic Church, with over One Billion members worldwide, is the One True Church. The less than 1% of bad priests will have to answer to God. Jesus said that there would be good and bad in His Church. Those bad priests are either old or dead now. The Catholic Church has the LEAST number of sex abuse cases. Most Catholic priests are dedicated men of God. ~The Catholic Church has been up against vile, satanic attacks from the start, but thanks to God, she is alive and well.

  • @victorianlulu The issue at hand isn't that the rapist priests aren't awful people that shouldn't be in positions of authority over children. Everyone agrees with that...

Except, of course, for the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. THAT is the issue at hand: that the Church's leaders have created an environment where the rape of children is tolerated. Yes, bad people exist in EVERY organization. It's how that organization responds to this issue that they're responsible for.

  • @porlob Actually, the Catholic Church IS doing more than the Protestant denominations and their sex cover ups! I have read where the sex abuse of children/students in our PUBLIC schools in this country is 100 TIMES worse than the Church scandal!! Are they not in positions of authority over chidren? The less than 1% of bad priests will have to answer to God. The Catholic Church has the LEAST number of sex abuse cases. Those bad priests are either dead or very old now.

  • @porlob Yes, the Public schools are passing around pervert teachers to other school systems. The Catholic Church, the One True Church will be here until the end of time, just as Christ said. Jesus said that there will be good AND bad in His Church, and that some will not enter Heaven. The Catholic Church is an easy target. Man is evil, the Catholic Church is holy.

  • @victorianlulu Are other organizations guilty of the same sort of protection of abusers and rapists? Yes. And those groups and people who have protected them should be held accountable? Agreed?

So then why not the Catholic church? If the best defense you have is "well, other groups do it too!" and "They're all old now" then we're done here, because you're now a rape apologist. The people who helped protect them (such as Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope) are still in power.

  • @porlob The Catholic Church is dealing with the problem. The 1% of bad "priests" will have to answer to God. You cannot condemn the whole Catholic Church for the sins of a few bad priests! Protestant denominations actually have more sex abuse of children, as high as 10%. I do not see the Italian authorities rushing to arrest Pope Benedict, in fact, his new book about the Life of Jesus, is a best seller.

  • @victorianlulu If an organization actively enables, conceals and/or encourages a crime, they should be held equally culpable. For example, if a company publicly stated that they were against the murder of Catholics priests, yet provided its employees with guns, a steady supply of priests, and a quite hidden room the Vatican would be after them like... like... Well, like a priest on a ten year old. The Vatican supplies the children, legal protection, and the churches. Your god isn't good enough.

  • @victorianlulu After reading some of the thread, I have realized that you are too delusional and indoctrinated to be saved. My apologies that you weren't rescued from idiocy before you drank the kool-aid. The only thing now is for you to save yourself, or find out after you're dead that you've been lied to, swindled even, by those you relied on to educate and protect you. You have my sincere sympathy.

  • @victorianlulu After all, if the rapists are deserving of eternal torture in hell as you say, aren't they also deserving of being tried, convicted, and removed from situations where they can harm others, rather than being protected, insulated and be reinforced that nothing will happen to them if they continue to rape children?

If it's "Satanic" to say that children should be protected from rape, then hail Satan. (Note to the irony-deaf: I am not a Satanist.)

  • Logic of liberal douchebags: a few so-called priests abused their position therefore the First Amendment ceases to exist.

No wonder these zombies love Obama. Dumb scumbags.

  • "...as well as the oppression of uteruses everywhere." I laughed so damn hard. HAHAA

    You're right though.

  • Well said!

  • God, you don't deserve an answer.

  • This is just simply lovely.

  • How the hell was Mother Theresa evil?

And yes there has been discrimination of gays but it is only in the past 20 years acceptance of gays has become the norm, you can't expect the worlds largest community to change in a heartbeat this Church is over a thousand years old thousands of years of history, in the past 20 years the Church has changed enormously, it will happen soon and when it does I will embrace that day. Child Abuse is sad but not all Catholics abused children in fact very few did.

  • @Ralftheblue Mother Theresa was evl because she supported a number of violent and oppressive regimes and refused medication to a great number of patients, which could have been saved by very simple and cheap antibiotics. She squandered loads of resources in building places of prayer in stead of buying medication or building hospitals.

  • @Ralftheblue I never said all catholics abuse children. I'm talking about the Church, being the institution that knowingly and purposefully protects those that did. And you don't get to smile away the discrimination of gays. Yes, no doubt the church will change, but not if noone opposes their outdated views. And if the position of the Catholic church on contraception is only a minor detail to you, then I'm done talking to you. This is endangering the lives of literally millions of people!

  • Dumb bitch ever heard of the First Amendment?

  • @mauro1970mgvr So the first amendment allows for children to be abused by priests? Here's a little hint: no it doesn't. You might want to actually learn what the first ammendment is, before you bring it up.

  • @weelittledragon but this is the catholic amendments or something, and it doesnt allow them to fuck the girls but they do it to little boys and occasionally little girls not every1 who says they obey god really do obey him.

  • Don't put thought into religion, it only leads to bad things. Enjoy life as it is, don't always ask why and how to everything.

  • My dad told me only a few months ago that an uncle I've never met was repeatedly (as my father put it) "buggered" by his parish priest for about three years. Poor ol' traumatised Uncle went off traveling for a few years and returned with his memoirs, detailing what he went through so he didn't have to tell the family face-to-face. Flash forward about five years, and he's become a priest himself.

WHAT THE FUCK. And all I asked was why I hadn't met the guy.

  • I don't understand your hate for the Church, there is still good in the Church, yes there is bad but the good outweighs it.

  • @Ralftheblue "the good outweighs it"

    You got that backwards, mate.

  • @weelittledragon

The Catholic Church were the ones who taught the children proved the health care and spread love, yes there was bad but you can't deny the church has done so much good.

  • @Ralftheblue Yes all good things that could just as easily have been accomplished through purely secular means. Besides, those good things were mostly in the past. Currently, the catholic church is doing mostly evil. For example, when it comes to health care, remind me again of the church's position on contraception? And educating people? Sure, there still are a number of great catholic schools out there, but it's not the church that has made them great, it's teachers who love their job. Cont'd.

  • @weelittledragon

But they weren't, it was God and Jesus who inspired the Christians to expand their beliefs and by doing that routes were establish and so was the expansion of knowledge. Yes they are against contraception and that is sad but a minute detail and scar on the Church.

  • @Ralftheblue As to the evils of the catholic church, historically we've had the crusades and mother Theresa (yes, mother Theresa was evil, deal with it) and now we still have discrimination of gays, child abuse, promoting gullibility, spending lots of money on promoting itself which could have been used to help people, and I repeat the church's position on contraception is a very problematic one. You should watch the debate about this with Stephen Fry (I think it's available on youtube).

  • @Ralftheblue The Catholic church has the potential of being something amazing. They have the power to inspire millions, yet they fail on pretty much every count. They routinely play with human lives, as a cat does with a dead mouse. I don't care whether people believe or not, but saying the catholic church has done more good than bad, is simply not understanding the church's history, past and present.

  • Priests must be sued but not the Church.

  • If there is no God then how do you describe those beautiful, miraculous boobs? Well call me a believer cuz those look like heaven to me.

  • 130 people agree with raping little boys!

  • @larsonb33 2,220 people tried to sue the church and lost because the accusations weren't proven and this is a bunch of bull shit, and the ones that did were convicted and have nothing to do with the Church as an organization, but only as that one person, just as a city's public education system isn't sued when a teacher is convicted of sexual abuse, which happens exponentially more than it does within the Church... because that's absurd.

  • @larsonb33 Probably all Christians, who of course are just getting ready for their eternity of being anally raped by Yahweh and jebus.

  • And my erectile dysfunction is cured! It's a MIRACLE!!!

  • Thanks 4 your courage sister! I am a recovering Catholic who is still Christian and am infuriated at the way "they" are using my God and his sons good image. I mean, WTF is this MFing BS they are offering in defence of institutionalized trauma! Robin says, "Holy Shit Batman,. looks like the Riddler is doing Pro bono Legal work for the Vatican again." Batman replys, "If memory serves, the Riddler does ALL the Vatican's legal work Robin, just like peas and carrots." Robin, "One less thing, right?"

  • contradictory smh. sum ppl like ta believe priests do no wrong when actually they just normal people they do wrong too n often times they get away with it just BECAUSE their priests. people act so friggin DUMB sumtimes ppl keep themselves in ignorance often because they dnt wanna see the truth when its sitting right in front of their eyes. okayy. now if u just plain dnt KNO...thats ignorance but if u REFUSE ta see the truth thats stupidity and ignorance is far better

  • @kikiVisQUEEN If only they were normal people! They are, in fact, men who are required to suppress their normal sex drive because of celibacy and are not even permitted the normal outlet of masturbation.

  • @mikelheron20 but it doesnt mean they dnt anyway. ive heard of several priests RAPING woman and cheating on their wives

  • @kikiVisQUEEN You've heard of priests cheating on their wives? You've lost me.

  • as opposed to the pentecostal ministers and othes who nail a lot of ladies in church! they all the same. sue them all BUT how much is the ladies fault for not keeping her legs crossed. its all the same we all look to lay blame for our own choices....

  • I want to marry this girl. But before i do that i would like to stick my scrotum in between her wonderful breasts

  • I LIKE YOU ,YOUR FUNNY.

  • You should come over to my house. Don't worry though. I'm not a priest, so you're safe ;D

  • It's so funny watching these videos that so clearly contradict themselves.

You make the accusation that the Bible contains unproven claims, yet the offenses that you're demanding retribution for are all accusations of Priests that had no evidence to support them. If they did, they would be in jail.

    Funny, hypocritical, contradictory stuff.

Good luck crazy, closed-minded, militant, liberal, atheist, girl!!!

I'll pray for you. ;) (I know you guys love it when we say that kind of stuff.)

  • @bananymous1 Actually there is pretty of evidence to actually close down such a depraved and hypocritical institution tomorrow. The only reason that such an institution is still there is because it has become too powerful to close it down. If you look for evidence the Inquisition would be enough to close them down permanently. There is more, just check history and you'll find plenty of evidence to sue them, but more usefully, destroy them completely.

  • @Blasthood I have checked the history and heck whats this i have in my room...why its a Bachelor Degree in Religion from a SECULAR university taught by professors of faith to no-faith...needless to say your comment is just angry talk and not rooted in any evidence. You say there is plenty of evidence to shut us down, but you don't give any. I would urge you to either get educated on the matter or just stop talking entirely and leave the topic of religion to those more qualified.

  • @pmfrankcabrera Your qualification in "religion" is null and does not mean a thing, nor does it erase the crimes committed by your ilk for centuries. The problem is, that such a dangerous institution has become too powerful, hence why it is now so difficult to get rid of it. It is because of weak and gullible people like you that they're still here. The Inquisition, the Witch hunts, instigation of hate and segregation as well as incapability to deal with diseases is just enough.

  • @Blasthood first of all, what evidence? You can't just say there IS evidence and not give any. So no, i don't believe you.

  • @Blasthood and second of all, the reason they're not shut down is not because they're too powerful. Even if they did have evidence and did convict the handful of priests that have been accused, they wouldn't shut down the Church. There are more protestant ministers, school teachers, rabbis, etc accused and convicted of sexual abuse than priests by a long shot and none of them are shut down. You can't shut down an institution, especially a church, for the actions of some of its members.

  • @Blasthood thirdly, the Spanish inquisition was not by the church it was by the Spanish Monarchs, Ferdinand and Isabella. The inquisition was throughout europe and it was just a census to see how big the Church was. Only in Spain was it taken out of hand and that was because the Spanish Monarchs took control of it, appointed their own people as priests and went crazy. The Church even begged them to stop what they were doing. Get your facts straight and do some genuine research.

  • @Blasthood oh and another reason that the Church isn't "shut down" is because it's the largest religion on the face of the earth with more than a billion members, it is the most charitable organization on the earth, it has established the most hospitals, schools, orphanages, homeless shelters, etc than anyone else in the world and the world would be screwed without it. They say if the Catholic hospitals in America (about 1/3 of them) were shut down, it would be equivalent to a natural disaster.

  • @bananymous1 Actually you should learn your facts. The church itself was part of all this mess. It was the entire body that approved of even harsher methods, especially against dissidents of the same faith, just look at the Lutherans and the Calvinists. The reason why they separated, the scamming of the peasants through "confessions" which had to be paid. Surely there was disagreement if people internally disagreed to each other's methods. We're talking history here btw.

  • @Blasthood Notice it's the "Spanish" Inquisition? Implying that it was only a problem in Spain. if you actually knew anything about the subject, you would know that the inquisition was THROUGHOUT EUROPE. It was a census. It was taken over by Ferdinand and Isabella in Spain where it was corrupted. The priests that opposed them were sent back to Rome and new priests were appointed by them to do their work.

I've done plenty of collegiate study and research on this. I know what I'm talking about.

  • @Blasthood Oh and I noticed that since you clearly felt that you were caught in your lies and bull shit, you conveniently changed the subject from The Spanish Inquisition to the currently irrelevant issue of Indulgences. Ok then, I'll take that as you conceding defeat and move on...

No clue what you're talking about with Lutherans and Calvinists though... what about them? They didn't even exist when the Spanish Inquisition was started and were found nowhere in Spain when it ended.

  • @Blasthood For God's sake, you can even just read the first paragraph of the Wikipedia page on the Spanish Inquisition and you'll see that it supports everything I'm saying:

"...the Spanish Inquisition was a tribunal established in 1480 by Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile."

"...to replace the Medieval Inquisition which was under Papal control."

"The body was under the direct control of the Spanish monarchy."

    Etc., etc., etc...

  • @Blasthood anyway, moving on to your desperate subject change...

Indulgences: offered by a single bishop in Germany, NOT the whole Church. Were NOT "confessions which had to be paid", but rather indulgences, those being: "a grant by the pope of remission of the temporal punishment in purgatory still due for sins after absolution." They were offered after a confession for lessened time in purgatory. Confessions were free my friend and indulgences were optional...

  • @Blasthood ...were they a good thing? No, it was a corruption of the concept of indulgences which are meant to be obtained by prayer. But remember it was a single bishop and was authorized by one of the few political popes who were corrupt and didn't belong in the papal office. there was no "scamming" according to the way God set up the Church, those people still received true indulgences. So again, another "issue" that people have with the Church is largely a misconception.

  • @Blasthood Yes I though we were talking about history, though some of the "facts" you pulled out of your ass made me question whether it wasn't just your imagination or a fable from liberal atheist fantasy land.

  • What crimes are we talking about? the unproven accusations?

  • The Catholic Church is the largest mafia and should be tried as such

  • Holy boobs!!!

  • if she was so religious, why is she showing her cleavage? I can see why she's not a Catholic! Also, she is wearing a Beatles shirt! Can't this woman at least take a shower and fix her hair and look appropriate before she makes a video of herself? I don't think i would want to date this woman gogreen18!!! God Bless! Joe.

  • How are you so beautiful and smart at the same time?

  • @MmmBrowneisMmm Well, she is not so smart. She wears a Beatles shirt and is a staunch atheist, but she knows nothing of The Beatles and their Catholic roots!~ Did you know that Ringo said that John Lennon is in Heaven? Ringo's so smart!

  • @victorianlulu Yes, Ringo had a nervous breakdown and "found God" in his 60's. Because of that we should give his Church special treatment and allow them to rape children. Since this video is about suing the Church hierarchy for specific crimes they have committed and only got away because of a ridiculous double standard.

  • @johnrainrules Ringo stated recently to the Los Angeles Times that he finally found God. He also stated that John "was in Heaven." I just love Ringo!~

  • Catholic people are not bad at all - well mostly not - but their cult leaders are the scum of the earth without a doubt. They should rename the Vatican to something more contemporary like - um - Hypocrite Central maybe?

  • not all catholics are bad.

  • what i mean is, not all catholics support how corrupt the church has become.

  • WRONG ON EVERYTHING!

  • Penso che dovremmo cazzo bombardare il vaticano (I thought it would sound better in Italian)

  • Their call for reason and evidence reminds me of their warning to adherents when Avatar came out to not take the film too seriously, and to remember it's not reality. I was shocked. Why would the Vatican doubt its adherents ability to discern fantasy from reality? Oh, right.

  • @etowncards80 your comment made my day :)

  • wth i had no idea that they got away with rape.i wonder if they get away with murder too.

  • @cherri7 Lmao!!! Thats a good one cherri!!!

  • It is amazing to hear a true scholar speak! (NOT!)

  • You're very attractive :)

  • Keep up the anger. No reason to hand religions (let alone the people living by them [preying on believers]) with satin gloves. There are still many notches they need to be taken down...

  • The vatican itself is a contradiction to it's own beliefs. You think Jesus would of wanted his followers living in a giant palace, wearing silly hats and sitting on throwns while dictating down to others? Probably not. Then again, wtf do i care, I'm an atheist. SCREW THE VATICAN! DOWN WITH RELIGION! Religion is NOT above the law, nor can it claim to be the law. Don't defend the church, defend the children, because they're the ones in need of protection.

  • I'm an ANIMIST and I agree with you 100% we should protest

  • The beatles look great... there. Also, you're very bright and energetic. I enjoyed this video, well done.

  • One thing to point out. Being a Catholic doesn't make you special. You're still a person. The Catholic church is the largest human organization on the Planet. There's almost 2 Billion people in the world that are Catholic. This"sex offender"thing is not actually any worse than any other sex offender crime in any other human organization. It IS horrible. But it's blown out of proportion JUST because we're Catholic.I'm sure the number of Mexicans that are sex offenders is high too,HATE ALL MEXICANS!

  • Nice boobies!

  • I want to cum all over your face.

  • wow you lost weight! good job! you look great, well you looked great before but even better now.

  • I am a Christian and I agree with you to a certain extent but the it's all Catholicism fault and the preists are to blame is like saying it was the Germans that killed alot of Jews and people but it wasn't it was nazis

  • Not at all

  • boobs and philosophy, i love you <3

  • I support you ( even though I'm not an atheist)

  • I fucking love this girl.

  • eventually the masses will get the concept of religion..

  • WTF ?

By same logic, we should sue the state and ALL government employees a billion times, for violence and theft!

I dont get it. Why are ALL atheists, braindead socialists ?

Some arent, like me. But almost exclusively they are always statist. Very few are freedom-loving anarchists, which is the only logically tenable position.

  • watch?v=zRQs5F2HtHE

  • I imagine you no cloths. wa wa wee wa. i likeee.

  • i think im in love....

  • I am agnostic.

    but, I was raised Catholic

Catholic is part of our culture

much like JewishAtheists are still usually culturall Atheist to some extent

so fuck off with sueing the Catholic Church

yes, I think the priests who did bad must face justice

but, sueing the Catholic Church is nto the anwser

    why only the Catholic church?

there are many cases of Jewish rabbi pedophiles too

  • I like you, I really really like you.

  • @sstan1337 yeahh..........me tooo

  • nothing like the beatles over boobs.

  • Now i just wonder what kind of person votes thumbs down on this vid....

  • Blaming the whole catholic church for an extremely small percentage of priests is like blaming all Germans for the holocaust. STOP attacking our religion and just respect it. I don't give other religions a hard time, it's their choice and I respect that. God be praised

  • @theycallmenutty so you don't think all those priests who have abused children should pay for their crime?

  • the Catholic Church is the true church founded by Jesus Christ A.D 33 . dont question it . these priests made mistakes and god has a punishment for them . humans always think they have to take every matter into thier own hands . your not God ! let him do his job! lets live right ! instead of waisting your time making this video go to church and stop cursing . that gets you nowhere in life . praised be Jesus
  • @RAHWAY1113 So if god has a punishment for those that do wrong e.g thieves, murderers, rapists should we just leave it up to god and not bother wasting money on police, prosecutors, judges etc?

  • @RAHWAY1113 what a load of crap!

  • @RAHWAY1113 "umans always think they have to take every matter into thier own hands . your not God ! let him do his job! "

Since he hasn't shown up to work in 2,000 years it is up to humans to do all of the work.

  • @tigerknome First of all, she's not saying that all priests are rapists and molesters. I myself was raised Catholic and have never encountered a priest that would ever hurt a kid. That doesn't mean that the priests who did molest kids shouldn't be accountable and charged for abusing kids. If a regular man molested your kid, you'd want them in jail, wouldn't you? Second of all, the church persuaded the "slaughtering" of others by using god and religion as a reason. People back then were afraid o

  • In fairness if you leave your child in the care of a priest, what did you think would happen? It's a priest! If you left your child with a bear, would you be shocked if he was eaten? A person who devotes their life to expertise in the field of magic crapola is inherently untrustworthy.

  • If I was a Catholic priest, I'd rape this bitch...twice.

  • Okay, I'm a Christian but I agree, raping children is wrong and these people need to be locked up and the key needs to be thrown away. They are not only raping but also ruining someones innocence and childhood, there is no reason for them to get away with this. I hope that these horrible sex offenders are locked up.

    That is all...

  • (2:42) "it's fun for the whole ___ family"

You don't know this, but the members of that family are your brothers and sisters. The way that your father keeps all of his children in his family is by deceiving them.

  • I'm big time in love.

  • A very small select group of people do something bad:

Athiests: Hey! Only these people are bad not all of us

Christians (specifically catholics): CHILD RAPISTS@!@#$@ ALL OF THEM!!11!!

  • Its like fun for the whole fucking family!

    That's epic.

  • I love Catholicism guys!! I can basically do whatever the fuck I want (rape, murder, steal, etc.) since I know I can go in front of a priest and confess so that all my sins will be resolved!! It's awesome..

  • @jolohmm you will only be forgiven if you have a truly repented heart in confession....and even if you would be able to fool the priest you don't receive real forgiveness because you cannot fool god who provides the forgiveness and peace u receive, and even so all men will be judged by god on judgement day.....so you have it all wrong when it comes to the teaching on sacrament of confession

  • @theden It was sarcasm. I don't need the pity of a jelous & insecure god who can't even forgive because his creation ate a freakin fruit. Sorry but, to anyone who pauses for a second and actually analyzes christianity.... it's pretty stupid.

  • Catholasism is the only religion i hate more than islam

  • @reptile1000 why?

  • @theden because it's the most sexist

  • I'm catholic and yes somethings don't make sense, but you can't bash the whole church. There are good priests and deacons. I agree people should not hide behind the church for protection if they have done horrible things, but again not everyone in the church is bad.

    ~Just Sayin'~

  • Ron Paul 2012

A lot of libertarians are secular

  • Rubbish, the abuse was terrible but you have no right to speak so harshly of us. Are you even a Catholic?

  • @OFreegal she doesnt have to be a catholic to speak her mind..

  • You're a dumb bitch... I really mean that sweetie.

  • Hey, I'm a Catholic girl, and I can honestly say that I've never been abused by any religious leader. Ever. Neither has anyone I know. But I am strongly, strongly against the abuse that goes on in a minority of Churches (if you can call a place that practices abuse a Church). The majority of Churches are perfectly normal places.

I'm not trying to convert you here - I believe that if you're a good person, regardless of anything, you will go to heaven. Just trying to erase a stereotype :)

  • LETS FUCK! :D

  • We get it you hate Catholics.

  • @Rook3800 No, she hates catholicism. She probably hates some catholics like Ratzy but its ridiculous to think she hates all of them.

  • lol @ Catholic Church haters. No Catholic wants their children molested. The fact is that the rate of child abuse in the Church is the same as in the world population (~1.2%) at large. It is terrible, yes, but acting like it is doctrine to molest children is laughable. The coverups are bad, but the Church is a net good to the world. I once thought the bible was a big book of fairytales too, until I took time and read it. I am blessed to be a part of the Church founded by Christ himself. Peace.

  • @dnaak

Church...good? Interesting idea. How do you justify the church's dogmatic opposition to safe sex, and its imposition of that ridiculous belief via missionaries in African countries where HIV is rampant and overpopulation stretches resources thin? Call that what you will. I call it incidental genocide.

  • @colourfulwithaU

They do not oppose safe sex. They oppose fornication, aka unmarried sex. If you do not have unmarried sex, you will not spread HIV. It is ridiculous to have sex before marriage if you ask me. If you give yourself to someone that isn't your spouse, what do you have to give to your spouse when they do come around? I practice chastity, so it is not impossible. Not to say I don't fall sometimes, but I always get back up and continue my mission.

  • @dnaak

I'm glad that you're chaste, and that's your decision. But chastity is not for everyone, and it's not "ridiculous". Also, chastity and promiscuity are not the only options. It's possible to have sex before marriage (or even, without getting married at all) without being promiscuous.

But that's not the point. "They do not oppose safe sex". That's another interesting idea. Let's have a race. You find five quotes from Catholic clergymen in favor of safe sex, and I'll find five against.

  • @dnaak

Here's a fun piece to read.

  • @colourfulwithaU

I understand what you are saying, but you have to understand the whole of the teachings on sexuality within the Catholic Church to understand their view on "safe sex." The Catholic Church teaches that you should not have premarital sex. Therefore, their teaching on contraception goes hand-in-hand with that. We believe that you should only have sex when you are married. In the Catholic Church, all sex is safe sex because it is always with your spouse.

  • @colourfulwithaU

I do agree that it is possible to have sex without promiscuity. That's not really what is at issue. The teaching is that you don't have sex at all, nada, zip, before marriage. If you want to have sex with them, get married to them. If you aren't willing to get married to them, don't have sex with them. It is taught that sex is the greatest gift you can give your spouse. It really is that simple.

  • @dnaak

That's great that it's taught in the church. But in the real world, people have premartial sex (and that's NOT, I repeat, NOT, a bad thing). And I would prefer that that premarital sex remains safe.

  • @dnaak Not everyone's views on sex are going to line up with your own. You don't want to have sex until you're married? Good for you. But most people do have sex before they are married, and there is nothing wrong with that. And regardless of your beliefs, everyone needs to know how to protect themselves.

  • @TellingItLikeItIsSJM

Hey man, I totally agree. The person I was discussing with earlier said he didn't like the view that the Catholic Church holds. It's not about what I believe anyway. I'm not arguing that others can't hold different beliefs. I'm just saying don't expect the Church to change its view because you (in general, not you personally) want to have premarital sex. To understand its views on safe sex, you have to understand their teachings on marriage. Peace be with you.

  • @colourfulwithaU

In the real world? So the Catholic Church doesn't act in the real world? You may believe that premarital sex is not,and as you repeat, not a bad thing. We disagree. Plain and simple. I've had premarital sex.Of course it has been absolved through confession. I believe that premarital sex is not, and I repeat, not a good thing. If people don't have premarital sex, safe sex is unnecessary. The Church doesn't change its teachings to fit what others want them to be.

  • @dnaak "The Church doesn't change its teachings to fit what others want them to be." Well if that isn't the biggest pile of crap I've ever heard in my life. The Church is CONSTANTLY changing it's views on issues to fit the rest of the world. For example: The church said years ago that they hated gays no matter what, now it's changed to, "we don't hate gays, just don't practice sodomy." I call that changing their opinion to fit in better with the real world.

  • @dnaak Really.. you read it and actually believed it?

    Omg... evolution going reverse guys..

Please tell me that you're old. I don't want to imagine our youths' brains to regress when we've already went so far into the evolution chain.

  • @dnaak "The Church is a net good to the world."

    Certainly not this world.

"Until I took time and read it."

Implying that atheists don't..? The Bible is one of the biggest atheist makers.

"I am blessed to be a part of the Church founded by Christ himself."

Being as anti-family as he was, and seeing as God condoned rape, I guess I can see him supporting the molestation. I don't remember him being a big fan of the incredibly wealthy though.

  • @dnaak Trouble is you can't quantify child abuse in the church b/c alot of children who are abused are too afraid to come forward and all the coverup. Please cite your source of 1.2% abuse in church and their methodology for gathering data. How did reading the bible reassure you that it was not a bunch of mythology? Reading the bible had the opposite effect on me. Christianity was founded by primitive men.
