Personally, I don't see this as such a bad ending.
And I like the approach they took on death, that after yuo die, you go into a dimension with no time where you spend the rest of eternity with the people you've had the most meaningful expriencies with.
Plus, I think that after waiting so long, that ending was well deserved, and way over-due

Maybe that is telling ya something about who your inlove with Sawyer!!

But they both got off the island and have a chance at a clean slate together, would love to watch there cage fight !!!
