  • less calories slows down metabolism tho?

  • Good video! by the way my cousin used this well known natural diet called: Impact 790 Diet and decreased 7 kgs within a month. I can't remember the web site just Google it.

  • I think the following is also worth mentioning: John Barban, a weight loss author who has done post-masters degree work in nutrition, points out that there is no consensus on what a "healthy" diet is in the first place. About the only thing most anyone agrees on is lots of vegetables.

  • I don't have a masters or higher degree in nutritional science or human biology or anything, but you people with your whole "Steve you're a fucking fool...It's WHAT you eat NOT how much you eat that matters for health and weight loss" are pretty dogmatic and frankly sound pretty damn stupid. There is more than one way to lose weight-there is however a caveat/stipulation that you MUST create a caloric deficit SOMEHOW. Health MIGHT be more about WHAT you eat, weight certainly isn't Ask John Barban

  • @UniversalTruths, That's bullshit i'm from Southern England and I haven't been ill once this year. Our weather isn't as crazy as most Americans think, we have winters that can be as cold as -10 and summers as hot as 30+degrees, as for rain we haven't had any for days or even weeks.... That's stereotypes for you.

  • Yes you CAN lose weight through calorie restriction but it will all come back with a vengeance when you start eating regularly. What most people won't tell you is that when you lose weight through calorie restriction you will lose sleep, you will feel terrible and your performance will suffer. Eat plenty of calories from fruits, vegetables, starches (potato etc.. if eating cooked foods) and nuts, beans and seeds. Balance all that with plenty of exercise and you'll lose fat whilst feeling great.

  • This man is correct. And I have a cheat day every saturday. Still losing weight and my runs are getting fast. Fuck this low carb bullshit. Balance it and portion control.

    This man tells the truth.

  • wouldnt it be better to eat healthy, whole foods and maintain a natural body weight?

  • Wouldn't eating the snickers slow down your metabolism? Teh fuk.. Sorry but I would rather have a faster metabolism plus the actual health benefits of eating things like fruits and veggies.

  • This is very true. I remember losing around 50lbs while I studied abroad in England. I basically ate the same, just less because of a heavy schedule, and I did loads of walking because that was my transportation. Wasn't even trying to lose weight, and it was melting off. Now, I wasn't healthy because I couldn't shake a cold that lasted on/off for months...but I surely was smaller. My aim is to get healthy AND lose the weight that I've since gained back.

  • @hellokittycutie2003 That's just the weather. Everyone in England has a cold for most of the year :p

  • Mate is completely disagree with you.

FUCK portion control. I eat as much i want of healthy stuff and am happy with my self AND am not fat.

Also you may lose weight but you will lose muscle as well.

  • @morph995 Too bad that doesn't work logically. Eat a snickers and guess what? You get hungry again. Why? Sugar. You start to crave sugary and carby foods and you GAIN weight. Eat a big salad with just as many calories and what happens? Your body signals that you are full. It's that simple. Not all calories are equal.

  • Its about time someone gave us Plain simple advice like this - Thankyou - Theres so much conflicting advice out there but you tell it as it is - Cheers ;)

  • why can I eat fast food and not gain weight as long as I create a calorie deficit ? what about the amount of high fats in them ? why will my body not store it ????

  • Hey steve....will TOO much sugar make you gain weight ? or as long as I create that calorie deficit will I not ? I heard sugar spikes insulin and raises body fat but idk please answer !

  • @SubZeroSkyLine As long as a deficit is created weight loss will occur.

  • this is probably one of the most idiotic videos I've ever seen. At first I thought this was one of those videos were you debunk a stupid myth but it turnr out YOU'RE SUPPORTING A STUPUD MYTH!

I can garuntee that eating snickers is never good for you. It won't help you lose weight and if you do it everyday, you probably shave off a few years of your life!

read Good Calories Bad Calories by Gary Taubes. He explains how not all calories are equal

  • Comment removed

  • Steve's not telling you to eat junk food.

He's using it to illustrate that if you eat less calories than you currently require to function throughout the day, you'll lose weight - regardless of what you eat.

What you eat is your choice - it's obvious that eating healthier is better.

If the majority of what you ate was from fats, you'd be lighter if your total calorie intake was less than you required to maintain your current weight,, but your body composition would be less healthy.

  • @PibbXtra08 Agreed. Plus you're getting absolutely zero nutritional value from a snikers bar aside from maybe 1-2grams of protein.lol They're full of Soy, Artifial Falvor(which is horrible for you)Sodium, refined sugar and carbs and basically empty calories ect ect. It's not natural. You never see body builders that are cut and fit add a candy bar to their daily diet every day or here and there. They eat REAL foods, Unless theyre having a cheat day.
  • Absolutely true. As a lot of people have been getting at, however, your body composition and overall health would be terrible as you would be malnourished and lacking the vitamins, minerals etc. to keep you healthy. This is a great hypothetical scenario to get the point across that overall calories are what count, but be assured that getting those 280 calories from high quality protein, carbs & vegetables would do you a world more good.

  • Well not if we want to stay healthy though.

  • thats cool. so i could eat Taco Bell breakfast Lunch and Dinner and not gain weight just as long as its in my caloric range of my body...even though fast food is loaded with calories im just stating a point

  • weight just doesnt mean fat youll loose muscle 2 cuz theres no ptotein in a snickers

  • wow what the fuck kind of advice is that. sure, you could even eat ice cream and lose weight if you dont go over the calories, but what about the needed nutrients? they help you be less hungry. You are an idiot

  • dude i eat 1 snickers per day king size im fucken anorexic but woman love me

  • You'll also lose muscle.. STUPID

  • LISTEN to him. he is not saying go live off snickers. he is just trying to say don't get so twisted up all about these so called "magic" lose weight shakes. it's the same as having a snicker bar for breakfast and lunch. our bodies were not put on this world to drink shakes for breakfast and lunch. there is no secret to losing weight. it's all about calories, work out, get fit and stay fit. like steve says, love your body.

  • @Starzziie Ok, say you eat a snickers at 7am. About 8:30 you are hungry as hell! But you wait for lunch. Say you eat lunch 12.30pm and you have a snickers. At 2pm you are hungry as hell again! Now you wait for the dinner and eat real food. Do that a week and you won't be able to go to work because you are too tired, lost your muscles and everything you eat is stored as fat. It's not all about calories! You need energy and protein to build too! You need to survived not just lose weight.

  • @HaasGrotesk

don't twist every thing i typed up. i would say you have missed my point but you haven't. you've repeated it lmfao. i wasn't instructing anyone to count calories ONLY. if i wanted to do so, i would of instructed exactly what you just typed or a fucking food plan lol really, people can figure that on their own.. my point was, no magic shake for weight loss is going to keep you thin in a healthy way. surviving off shakes would be like eating chocolate bars twice a day.

  • Yes the calories are equal, but the shakes would presumably be nutrient-rich and not contain 'empty' calories,as with a snicker bar. With the latter, the body would miss essential nutrients and you would feel hungry much more quickly after a snicker, especially as it contains refined sugars, and not slow-release energy from a quality shake.

  • if there was no such thing as a diabetes, my five meals a day would consist solely of snickers.

  • ugh nothing here to eat except the young lads fund-raising chocolates. so i tried it!

700 cals of chocolate for a meal is pretty queasy. bring on the vegies at dinner time.

  • wouldn't this diet lack nutrition are cause blood sugar to rise rapidly so more fat cells are stored

  • snickers have a lot of sugar though

  • So then if someone's body burns 1800 calories per day, and all this person ate was 1200 calories worth of french fries every day, then he or she would be losing 600 calories per day, and 1 pound of fat in a week since 1 pound of fat is worth 3500 calories. Only problems is that this person's sodium and cholesterol levels are going to shoot up. But as for weight loss, it would work. Correct?

  • @NawtyAngel911 Most likely your smoothies and teas have a ton of sugar. And 9 times outta 10 its probably refined=\

  • see i dont agree with this vid. I just cant cut down cals ..i feel deprived, I just recently started "Herbalife" you drink 2 shakes a day and eat a healthy meal. Well what i do is i make a shake for b.f. which i normally dnt eat b.f. then i go to the smoothie shop that sell HL smoothies.(16)oz and i drink it ..they taste like dessert! i also get an HL tea which i am full & satisfied from. I have stuck with this but have failed several times with calorie control. I do snack tho

  • holy crap! i'm eating 700 calories per meal and losing! i pity those who need to drop to a snickers for lunch. o0

phew i can eat two snickers and two fun size for lunch. :)

but i dunno if i want to be the guy using the WC after me later though.

  • @stupidnamenoonecares i remember one time i did this 400 calorie thing it was 400 cals 4 times a day. so like 4 meals. i didnt stick to it but it tricked my mind a little bit.

  • Dude ur so right! I love how u put things into a realistic perspective.

  • @maqnchs Thanks! I also have a BlogTalkRadio com show. You can listen there or on iTunes. Search Steve Turano. Recent shows can also be heard on my site home page at the bottom once they upload. You can also listen to archived shows of my Tampa radio show at GreatFatLossPill com. Click on the On The Air tab at the top. ~Steve

  • can i use ice cream snickers instead?

  • good idea!!!

  • I understand the philosophy but dont necessary agree with it. It doesnt make it ok to put snakcs into your body just as long as you decrease your intake calories from your other foods throughout the day. Its still unhealthy even if the calorie count is low. Snickers are very high in sugar which is great for energy and carb intake, yet the saturated fat, calories from fat, and fat grams are high. I do eat snacks yet every once in a while on my cheat day.

  • BUT WHAT ABOUT THE FAT IN THOSE BARS DO WE ONLY PAY ATTENTION TO THE CALORIES

  • what about all of the sugar in the snickers wouldnt that spike your insulin and raise blood sugar and make your body want to store fat?

  • @bizeboi Nope. Listen to the seminar on my website. BodyPerformanceTV com

  • @bizeboi yep, you're spot on.

A calories in/calories out diet works, no doubt about it. As long as you don't care about the high amounts of insulin in your body and increased risk of related illnesses. This advice is what ppl WANT to hear; 'eat whatever, as long as you burn it off'; gives ppl peace of mind. Should eat a paleo diet, it's the best for creating a hormonal environment where your body creates its own energy (from ketone bodies) and encourages a lean body mass.

  • True but my diabetes says otherwise to the snickers lol, im doing 200 calories in 2 cups of watermelon and 1 cup of canteloupe and 1 cup of strawberrys yum yum, and my sugars dont go wacky for some reason!

  • @needtolooselots TRUE! That's because fruit sugar (fructose) doesn't raise blod sugar as much as people think!

  • @BodyPerformanceTV in fact it doesn't raise it at all. only the liver eats fructose and it needs no insulin to do it.

  • Yeah, but all callories arent created equal are they? You would loose weight sure, but what kind of weight? Aren't most people trying to loose fat? Without the proper ratio of protiens, carbs., and fats, you could loose muscle, gain fat, and at the same time still loose overall weight.

  • @porkchop6021 calories are a measurement of energy. heating a gallon of water 1 degree or something like that. its all the same. you still need nutrition but if you only want to lose weight? its all that matters. of course you can gain muscle which burns calories a lot and for that you need protein but thats different. and snickers has quite a bit of protein you know

  • @mandowarrior123 Quite a bit of protien? It only has 4 grams, along with 14g of fat and 30 grams of sugar. When people say they want to loose weight, what they really mean is that they want to loose fat. Good luck with that if your eatting snickers bars for protien or any other nutritional value.

  • @porkchop6021 its better then a mars bar with virtually no protein. kapeesh? not the best choice certainly. whatever eat the protein snickers :P

    Protein = 31g

    Total Carbs = 23g

    Sugar = 15g

    Total Fat = 7g Saturated Fat = 3.5g

    Calories = 290 kcal

still alot but thats a good amount of protein no? besides keep a defecit and it matters not what you eat really to lose weight.

  • @mandowarrior123 I dont know what kind of snicker bar your looking at but its not a regular snickers bar. But my point is yeah, u can lose weight when your at a calorie defecit, but your gonna lose muscle along with fat if your eating candy. You could lose weight smoking crack too, but at the end of the day, what are you gonna look like?

  • Comment removed

  • @sakoking yep. simple math.

  • I luv how u explain things :)

  • i thought u had to eat healthy to lose weight??? not eat junk food. im going to try it tho because it looks like it be a fun way to lose it ;p

  • @IPWNBXRmash no, you dont have to eat to lose weight ;D at all. xD just well junk food tends to have a tonne of calories.

  • Awesome video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

  • @FreeUpYourMind Thanks! Theres also more great info on my BlogTalkRadio show. Once there search Steve Turano. I had great shows 4-13 and 4-14. The show can also be downloaded from iTunes. • How much calories you burn doing spinning for 45 minutes.

  • @checkmatte MAYBE 300

  • @checkmatte Theres also more great info on my BlogTalkRadio show. Once there search Steve Turano. I had great shows 4-13 and 4-14. The show can also be downloaded from iTunes. • Yep you'd lose weight eating junk if its a calorie restriction just you'd lose muscle as well as fat and become skinnyfat, stick arms and legs with a pot belly.

  • @butcherofbielawa Actually, you wouldn't if you had a decent amount of protein and complex carbs for dinner to fuel your workout and there's no such thing as skinnyfat. I've trained as an athlete for years and I've never had to avoid eating things like chocolate or crisps altogether. The important thing is to get enough carbs and protein to fuel your workouts and so you recover damaged muscle afterwards.

  • @athlete117 Everyone gets unfit if they don't exercise, regardless of what they eat.

  • @athlete117 and the opposite is true

  • @athlete117 yep, you keep the amount the same but are forced to eat some stuff thats the way it should be ;)

  • Yes, but if you ate only a snickers bar wouldnt you get hungrier faster then eating something of the same amount of calories but more protein?

Yea, you'll still lose the weight..but it would be an incredibly uncomfortable way to lose it. and you'd probably end up putting it right back on in my experience.

  • I don't think I've had a Snickers bar since I was 12 years old. (I think). I don't eat that stuff anymore and I am a natural whole foods eater....just the basics. Nevertheless, this video IS CORRECT, and understanding the principles behind it that he's trying to teach,...helps me to get even more ripped in my lean lifestyle and adjust food volume and calories of HEALTHY food as I need to depending on how ripped I want to get. It's a GOOD video!!!

  • Decreasing your calorie intake will cause weight loss, BUT eating simple sugars such as sneakers, white bread, sweets, white sugar, etc. will shock the insulin level and eventually cause diabetes.

  • I train for marathons and on my longer runs (35-40k) i down 2 snickers bars for energy during the run.. mmmmm.

  • @JogBird a marathon for breakfast, a marathon for lunch, and a sensible dinner ;D sorry i had to! :D

  • I dunno... I feel like eating just snickers would be absorbed too fast and my metabolism would slow down. prob be better to eat 2 egg sandwiches on some whole gran bread. or maybe 4 halfs of egg sandwich's spread out. maybe some oatmeal w/ fruit or somethin. wouldn't get as hungry either.

  • Haha... it really does sound like he said "love you, bye" instead of "love your body" lol!!!

  • Steve,

    become a beachbody coach!!

  • 288 calories in a snickers bar if you wanna be extremely precise. lol.

  • Hey man your videos are incrediblem but one question that hopefully you can help me with. I completely understand what you are saying about calories, less is best to lose weight, but with what you said what about all the sugar and fat in a snickers? If you have say 1500 calories in a day but you have eaten a big mac and fries and say a cheesburger, even tho the calories may be around 1500 would the all that fat and sugar matter. Thanks for the help, cant wait to hear what yo uthink.

  • first of all youll slow ur metabolism doing this, second u do not get proper nutrition frm snickers

  • That's not the true point of the video.

  • Comment removed

  • steve how about a beer for lunch, a beer for dinner and a sensible lunch

  • @sodapop90210 hahahaha

  • This is the question i have been asking for the last 9 years...I thought it made sense that it's all about the number of cals that u burn and not necessarily what u eat....Thax for sharing!

  • It matters much more as you get in VERY good shape but not until then.

  • its by no means healthy

  • what you eat determines what you lose, how much you eat (or don't eat) determines how much you lose. Any foods will work for weight loss, not all will work for fat loss while maintaining muscle

  • It matters much more as you get in VERY good shape but not until then.

  • This is true for losing weight but to be healthy (which should be the main goal for anyone losing weight) you need to have a balanced diet, between fat, protien, and carbs

  • I don't suggest doing either of these, shakes or snikers, I would feel sick to my stomach all morning and lunch.

  • it was an example

  • man u know what ima do start eating broccoli in the morning lunch and diner :P loool ...is that good Steve?

  • Sound like he said "Love you, bye." Or Love your body? xD

  • No you just want to think he said that to you.

  • Lmao. fuck no I don't.

    D:

    That's gross ):

  • No and Yes!

  • Quick question. And I've always been unsure about this so please go easy on me here. When watching calories, lets say I'm about to drink a shake. If the shake says it has 250 calories and 75 calories from fat, does those two numbers need to be added together or is that already included? And correct me if I'm wrong but basically when it comes to weight loss we just need to burn more calories than we take in?

  • your dumb first off calories are calories they just list em from fat because most ppl are to dumb to add them up them selves

  • @dillondoty Wow, you have an attitude problem..

  • but what about the nutrition? the shakes probably contain vitamins and things GOOD for your body and sneakers just contain FAT and well eventhough u can loose the weight the shakes are healthier. and i know u only put this as an EXAMPLE but still idk.. just wondering.

  • Sounds great! Now let us die

  • how much calories does one have to have in order to lose weight? im like 5'7 160 i wanna get down to 150

  • u can eat mcdonalds and loose weight just gotta work out more the more calories u eat the more u need to work out to burn the calories. an ave diet is about 2000 Calories per day so eat less than that and work out alot and you should loose weight, but hard intense carido, not "i did A situp im good for the day" lol

  • People telling you need more than calories/carbohydrates. Meal replacements and snickers have fat+protein+sugar alltogether, so I don't see the point.

and +2000 calories = weightgain and lower than 2000 = weightloss? That's really a very common average. It really depends on a lot of factors. Some athletes can take 3500 calories a day and still not gain (fat)weight. A lazy guy can take 2300 and gain weight.

GENERALLY speaking, Steve's right, it's calories in - calories out.

  • i think people have it all wrong. you should eat a sensible BREAKFAST - cuz thats what starts your metabolism and itll give you energy the rest of the day and then eat a "snickers" for lunch and a "snickers" for dinner.

  • Turns out new england journal of medicine did a study (from Steve's seminar) that demonstrates it doesn't matter one bit what time of day you eat. You'll lose the weight as long as calories in < calories out.

  • I understand what your saying with eating snickers because the calories are appropriate for breakfast and lunch... but I don't think snicker will give a human enough energy to last from 7 in the morning, until 7 in the evening. Especially if the person's body is active all day long. Am I right or wrong?

  • YESSSS! Thank you!!! Most of these people with negative comments don't really want to listen or learn. I deal with it every day!

  • He is not advising to eat a Snickers diet!! His point is calories in vs. calories out. Yes, you will be more full if those calories come from healthy foods........Steve knows this!! Again his point is calories in vs. calories out!

  • Ok this guy just lost all credibility... Sure you will lose weight doing that but who could function on just a snickers bar your concentration will be rubbish, plus you'll probably have a major relapse and pass by a mcdonalds or something and that will be the end of that.

  • You totally missed the point that the guy was saying. He was talking about weight loss solutions that say, "use our shake for breakfast and lunch." He's pointing out that if you decide to participate in such a diet, you can substitute that with anything you want - including a candy bar or cookie - and have the same exact results. You will lose weight - and you will save money. He doesnt say GO do that - although you will lose weight.

  • You're not understanding his point. He's not saying to go out and do this...he is saying those ads and what not that tell you to have such and such for breakfast and such and such for lunch and a healthy dinner, is the same thing as having something with the same amt of calories in it ie. a snickers. So in other words IF you chose to pay all this money for these "diets" you can just eat a snickers and get the same results. He even said it's not the best way to do it, but that it's the same.

  • He's speaking of Thermodynamics but he's not being realistic. The fat and sugar cause you to crave. Thermodynamics is a scientific law that states; If your body burns 2000 calories per day then it will gain mass with over 2000 and loose mass with less than 2000. Truthfully you need Protein, carbs and fat in every meal.

  • I just stumbled on your videos, they're GREAT! Common sense, and great. ::I'm 26 year old college student and am battling the "Freshman 15"... although, I'm not a Freshman any longer! Gotta lose those 10 lbs! I'm on my way with your motivating videos. Thanks for posting them! :)

  • Snickers in my location has 522 Calorie

oh!!! and can any body tel me how many Calorie in the wight rise

  • i really have to say that this video is idiotic. There are 3 simple rules to lose wight eat healthier and exercise and finally REST.

  • Theres one simple rule to lose weight, dude. Don't take in more calories than you can burn. What about people in wheelchairs? Will they become fat because they can't exercise? According to your rules, they won't be able to lose weight. So you're kind of the idiot because you totally didn't get his point. Pay attention to the video before you say stupid things.

  • Your body burns calories constantly, even during sleep (a lot actually during sleep) and wheelchair bound people (often known as "Crips" in the ghetto which I am from) can still use their arms for exercise.

  • You missed my point. Some people cannot exercise. They can still lose weight.

  • I did not miss it, you burn calories even while not exercising.

  • True.

  • You're not understanding the point of his video. He is not sayint that this is what you should go out and do. He is simply stating that taking something with the same amount of calories like a snickers and a slim fast for example will give you the same results. He's saying you can figure this out on your own rather than forking out extra money to the people who are trying to sell the "shakes for breakfast and lunch"

  • While you can lose weight although eating 2 snickers a day and it's true, that weight loss is solely dependent on the ratio of calory intake and output, it should be mentioned that this is NOT advisable. Eating healthy has nothing to do with losing weight, but why whould you want a great looking but sick body? You're body needs vitamines, trace elements, roughages and such to fuction properly, and Snickers won't give you that. Vegetables, fish and fruits on the other hand will.

  • ok so 2 snickers a day right? imagine someone kept this diet for a year? there are 265 days in a year,Times that by 2 you get 730 snickers a year?

What would be the amount of sugar in a year from snicker bars? Does that seem healthy to you guys? 730 snickers a year?

  • all your videos say the same thing

  • Are you hitting the repeat button? Or I suppose they are because fitness and weight loss is pretty simple if you think about it.

  • It's simple, but it's not easy.!

  • Very true

  • Forgot to mention that sugar is addicting and will make it more tempting to eat unhealthy.

  • lol steve are you mentaly challenged? A snicker=280 calories, its loaded with sugar that will fuck up you metablism and slow your body from burning fat. Also, your not looking too slim yourself, so why should i beleive you?

  • so, if a caloric deficit is needed to lose body fat and a caloric surplus is needed to gain muscle, how can you do both at the same time?

  • The problem with choosing simple sugars as your calorie source is that you become hungry quickly after insulin gobbles up the glucose and fructose, leaving you hungry, sluggish and not well prepared for energy expenditure through working out.

  • What I don't like about this video is, that it may encourage people to eat more unhealthily by telling them this, true it may result in weight loss but the costs are higher because you are more unhealthy.

  • negative calories > snickers : )

  • Absolutely. I have a number of videos on that subject.

  • So it doesnt matter what you eat as long as you have a calorie deficit? What about the cholesterol and refined sugar in a snickers bar. So you may lose weight but you can chance of diabetes, heart disease and so on. Thanks

  • alright steve ..just a quick question here ..u said we can loose weight if u do apply what u said..but would u loose fat or something else?? and would u still be able to gain muscle ?

  • He's not saying to eat snickers all day long. He's saying as long as your in a calorie deficit you will lose weight regardless of what your eat. Obviously, you want to make to make good choices.

  • I have been looking for this kind of tip for a 100 years!

Steve, I love you!(and absolutely love Snickers, of course!)

  • You're welcome. Eat the foods you, just eat less.

  • dude ive been looking on the internet for so long to figure out if it matters what type of calorie a food is or just the number of calories it is and you just answered it for me thank you so much my mind is eased lol

  • im like deep fry 5 of them for one meal~~haha

  • Sure. Your body still requires energy. Even is you're eating glucose you'll still be running a calorie deficit. If you don't believe me then YOU explain to me why you wouldn't lose weight.

  • to answer your question... let me ask you another question... "How many types of weight loss are there?" ...

    1)you can lose fat

    2)you can lose muscle

3)you can get pregnant and after the delivery you can lose 7-8 lbs overnight

4)you can lose your body organs

here we are more concerned about the first two points.

Now, to lose fat.. ur body has to be in a "MODERATE CATABOLIC ZONE"...i.e. your blood sugar should be below the level required for maintenance of living function.

  • however eating sugar whole day... you are in "Excessive Anabolic Zone" i.e. your blood sugar is too high.. which causes you to store as much fat as in can. But still if you are not consuming too much glucose for a longer period of time(calorie deficit), even when insulin makes u want more.. your body goes to a starvation mode. the body is scared that it will starve so it stores as much fat as it can and using the alternate source for energy... i.e. breakdown of muscle. so the body loses muscle.

  • understand this... everyone think weight loss comes in a bottle or in a medicine or it super easy... but the truth is ... you need to make a sacrifice you need to eat less and burn more calories... thats what steve wants us to understand...

he's telling , you want to eat hamburguers eat 1200 cal of hamburguers..

want to eat more ... eat 1200 cal of apple and you looser the same weight ...

did i make my point ???

  • Sorry but I'm not wrong. Sugar is a disaccharide composed of glucose and FRUCTOSE. Fructose must be broken down by the liver BEFORE is can be effectively absorbed by the blood stream so even pure table sugar doesn't increase insulin levels as much as once thought.

  • Comment removed

  • ok, according to ur comment.. let us now assume that table sugar does not have high GI and so doesn't cause "insulin spike".but based on what you said on ur video:

"its not the content of the food that matters...its not the break down of the protein, carbs or fats that causes weight loss.its the total no of cals in the food that u eat"

lets say that instead of taking 1200 cals of table sugar, i take 1200 cals of PURE GLUCOSE now i ask the question again. will i still lose weight? why/why not?

  • Let's say your body uses (meaning needs and normally burns) 1700 calories a day. If you eat 1200 calories of ANYTHING you are still running a 500 calorie DEFICT. Therefore your body will use 500 calories of stored fat to make up the energy difference. You're missing the point. The point is people obsess too much about their stupid carb, protein & fat mixture and then still eat TOO MUCH or do TOO LITTLE.

  • for the question i asked below..abt eating sugar whole day and still consuming less calories.. ur answer is WRONG!!

now lets analyze what's wrong.u said.."Therefore your body will use 500 calories of stored fat to make up the energy difference"....NOT necessarily.if in a whole day i consume 1200 cals of high GI food say sugar(even though m 500 cals deficit) the sugar that i consume will kick my insulin level.

  • Now, if another day i consume 1200 cals of low GI food say grain bread. my insulin level might be low and my "glucagon harmone" level will be comparatively high!!

    always remember:

1)when insulin levels are higher then glucagon levels(i.e.1st case where i was eating sugar whole day) :-> glucose and fatty acid storage occurs

2)glucagon levels are higher the insulin levels(i.e.2nd case when i was eating grain bread whole day):->triglyceride release and glycogen breakdown occurs...

  • "its not the content of the food that matters...its not the break down of the protein, carbs or fats that causes weight loss.its the total no of cals in the food that u eat"..

so, according to u, if i stop eating all the foods and eat only sugar for breakfast, lunch and dinner(so that the total cal is <1200) i'll still lose weight? try to answer this simple question and explain why/why not..!!

  • You missed the entire point of the video and it's concept.

  • A snickers for breakfast and lunch? How American does it get? You rationalize eating a snickers to substitute for not one but two entire meals and yet conclude your oxymoronic statement with "love your body"? You must have lost the plot somewhere along the line Bubba. You cannot sell this advice to your audience and still claim to be responsible. Candybars do NOT belong any where near a healthy diet. Using calorie numbers as a criteria for meal quality? Oh brother gimme a break....LOL Sigh...

  • grinreaper is just a fucking moron..what the fuck is his problem? i dont see steve trying to sell anything..and he never once said it was healthy to eat snickers every day and he didnt say it was the best meal quality you fuckin retard. the only point he was trying to make is that by creating a calorie deficit is the Only way to cause weight loss regardless of what you eat.

  • I don't buy it. The human body is bit more complicated than just a calorie extraction and incineration device. The quality of food is more important than its calorie content even when it comes to merely lose weight. Although he doesn't explicitly advice to eat snickers for a meal he suggests its no problem, calorie wise. It reads like a tacit approval for eating a candy bar for a meal. Eating processed food, especially candy garbage, is not the answer to a sensible and healthy weight reduction.

  • well what makes you think you know more than this guy though?

  • I never said such a thing. You're putting words in my mouth. That's not my responsibility but yours.

I've stated my opinion based on my own intellect and knowledge of food and the human body.

If you don't like it you can always choose to disregard it.
