HP might be the devil for some people who clearly are as bad as purebloods, but HP has taught me so much ; including the value of friendship, the courage to stand up in the face of adversity, to never lose hope, to foster trust and loyalty, and that love is the strongest thing in the world. I watched that documentary in World Religions class and everyone was laughing at this woman when she said that Harry Potter was evil. Basically, she's just seeing the "witchcraft" part and ignoring what the books are actually about. She's also telling little kids WHAT to think rather than telling them to think for themselves and that pisses me off!
@HatiChantheWolfHog It's somewhere along the lines of thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. The people justified it as those who succumbed to the influence of the powers of evil died at that moment and weren't really living beings but instruments to the evil one, Satan, Lucifer, etc. I remember stories I had read about the stonings and burnings and even the drownings. They didn't believe they were doing anything wrong.

I'm a Christian. Harry Potter is my childhood and always will be. I was taught not to believe in witchcraft and wizardry. Does it not mean I cannot have an imagination as a child or even now? I was in a Christian school for most of my life and the children said they weren't allowed to read Harry Potter books when I brought them in and they said because it was evil. I honestly look back at them like "WTH" because, the Harry Potter series is a much larger scale then magic. It's love and friendship

I know how you feel. It disgusts me when people say that Harry Potter is Evil as well. In fact they probably don't know how educational Harry Potter can be. It's a simple fantasy tale that teaches kids that you can't avoid death and to love and cherish your friends and family. Harry Potter even made kids want to read again, which I say is awesome! Harry Potter changes people lives in so many wonderfully good ways!! People who say it's evil is probably just jealous...my opinion.

And even if some people are saying that JKR is heretic (Unbelievable, that people even THINK abou that!), she's not. She's an author, a genius one by the way, who shared her thoughts with the world. And, you know, I think that these thoughts were given to her by god.

I'm Catholic and I really don't find HP entertaining. Does it contain hidden messages and wichcrafts...could be. Well, judging by how popular it is, having in mind how valuless todays society is....yeah, could be. Does that make someon go to hell? No! It can somewhat affect your perspectives, but it takse more then a book/film to take you to hell. One must reject God to do so.

I saw Jesus Camp too! Actually my dad got it from Netflix and made everyone in the family watch it. I found it profoundly disturbing and just extraordinarily weird. I Wasn't Able to read Harry Potter Until i was 13 Because Both My Parents Said it was demonic. My Brother Bought me The Twilight Series For my birthday when i was 11 And My dad BURNED them. I have always seen Harry Potter not as a religious story but it obviously has prominent themes of good triumphing over evil and loyalty to friends which by no means is evil. I remember being forbidden to read Harry Potter, as it was anti-Christian. (I read it anyway; never thought it was evil...) When I was 13, I convinced my mom to watch the 1st Harry Potter movie with me; she changed her mind about it, and the rest is history. You don't know how people lost faith in God or why they never had it. Maybe it was because of people saying things like this, calling the things they most care about evil. I'm an atheist but I think this video and the sentiment in it are absolutely beautiful and very powerful. Harry Potter represents everything that is good and right in this world and anyone who believes it to be a product of evil on any level is most certainly not in their right mind. For a generation of children Harry Potter has been a formative part of their childhood and I'd like to think that Harry's courage and strong morality has influenced us all in a positve way.

This video is absolutely amazing- I love how you created something so brilliant and magical with the hatred of that woman's argument. It's sad and heart wrenching to hear that someone can take something so innocent as fantasy story and turn 'n twist it into something so awful. There's nothing wrong with imagination, with believing in magic or miracles- and Harry Potter gave me happiness I wouldn't have gotten anywhere else. It's the reason I am who I am today. I watched that documentary in World Religions class and everyone was laughing at this woman when she said that Harry Potter was evil. Basically, she's just seeing the "witchcraft" part and ignoring what the books are actually about. She's also telling little kids WHAT to think rather than telling them to think for themselves and that pisses me off!

The people justified it as those who succumbed to the influence of the powers of evil died at that moment and weren't really living beings but instruments to the evil one, Satan, Lucifer, etc. I remember stories I had read about the stonings and burnings and even the drownings. They didn't believe they were doing anything wrong.

I am a christian and the woman at the beginning of this video is a horrible example. People like this are like the people in the bible jesus spoke out against. Thick head and thinking they are always right. Harry potter is a story. A fictional one, that was part of 2344582473543524357243058924 peoples childhoods. I'm a Christian. Harry Potter is my childhood and always will be. I was taught not to believe in witchcraft and wizardry. Does it not mean I cannot have an imagination as a child or even now? I was in a Christian school for most of my life and the children said they weren't allowed to read Harry Potter books when I brought them in and they said because it was evil. I honestly look back at them like "WTH" because, the Harry Potter series is a much larger scale then magic. It's love and friendship

I know how you feel. It disgusts me when people say that Harry Potter is Evil as well. In fact they probably don't know how educational Harry Potter can be. It's a simple fantasy tale that teaches kids that you can't avoid death and to love and cherish your friends and family. Harry Potter even made kids want to read again, which I say is awesome! Of course, Harry Potter is NOT the devil. Of course he's not. Harry Potter is the best books/films ever made. I'm catholic and even though some people may think that the HP books are evil, I don't. And even if some people are saying that JKR is heretic (Unbelievable, that people even THINK abou that!), she's not. She's an author, a genius one by the way, who shared her thoughts with the world. And, you know, I think that these thoughts were given to her by god.

I'm Catholic and I really don't find HP entertaining. Does it contain hidden messages and wichcrafts...could be. Well, judging by how popular it is, having in mind how valuless todays society is....yeah, could be. Does that make someon go to hell? No! I hate how people say that Harry Potter is a work of the Devil. I have always seen Harry Potter not as a religious story but it obviously has prominent themes of good triumphing over evil and loyalty to friends which by no means is evil. I guess some people just can't get past the wizard part, which is a shame. I'm a proud Christian and Harry Potter fan! :)

I remember being forbidden to read Harry Potter, as it was anti-Christian. (I read it anyway; never thought it was evil...) When I was 13, I convinced my mom to watch the 1st Harry Potter movie with me; she changed her mind about it, and the rest is history. If some of these fundamentalist Christians/anti-Harry Potter people would just sit down and read at least one of the books, maybe they could see what the series really is about.

@mh4777abc I was christian. I lost faith one year ago, because of people like this woman or people who say that homosexuals are sinners. Harry Potter have learn to me what is true friendship, sacrifice for the one we love, courage and that sin can be in anyone of us : we have to fight it. Bible is fiction too. I'm sorry, yes, they can do magic but Jesus can walk on the water. Wow. You call this a 'miracle'. HP is my personal miracle and my childhood. JK Rowling is christian too. Deal with it.

JK Rowling have learn me to use my imagination and right now, Christian show a lot of hate for a lot of things. The message of the Bible isn't "love everyone" ? But homosexual can't be loved. And Harry Potter, a little and innocent boy is the devil. So, hum, no. I'm free, without Jesus, I'm not a slave of my desires and Satan isn't in my life. You really scared me.

@mh4777abc This is not about wether we believe in God or not. Everyone is intitle to their own belief and it doesn't make than anyless a good person. You don't know how people lost faith in God or why they never had it. Maybe it was because of people saying things like this, calling the things they most care about evil. Maybe it is because they saw the bad side of christiannity. How some part of it threat people that are different or things they don't understand.

I'm an atheist but I think this video and the sentiment in it are absolutely beautiful and very powerful. Harry Potter represents everything that is good and right in this world and anyone who believes it to be a product of evil on any level is most certainly not in their right mind. For a generation of children Harry Potter has been a formative part of their childhood and I'd like to think that Harry's courage and strong morality has influenced us all in a positve way.

@Emmie3303 I couldn't agree more! I am a agnostic as well, and since childhood I've learned about moral, goodness and courage from the Harry Potter books. Even though my family tried so many times to change my look at morality and goodness. "it's a sin to believe in Harry Potter instead of God. Harry Potter is a fictional character from a fantasy book, that's not worth to believe in. It is just messing up your mind, Chantal.." That couldn't be more wrong! Harry Potter has formed my personality!

This video is absolutely amazing- I love how you created something so brilliant and magical with the hatred of that woman's argument. It's sad and heart wrenching to hear that someone can take something so innocent as fantasy story and turn 'n twist it into something so awful. There's nothing wrong with imagination, with believing in magic or miracles- and Harry Potter gave me happiness I wouldn't have gotten anywhere else. It's the reason I am who I am today. I love these characters to the end.

Where do people come up these things, Harry Potter is not the devil....yeah there are some evil things that happen in the series, but not on Harry's end of it....more Voldemort then anything.
