  • Aah!!! My first concert EVER! Thanks popdjdsh for puting this on here! Red Flag is a fantastic band, and I wore the cassette OUT!

  • Wow, I remember seeing Red Flag in concert when I was in college at a club called 17th street in Huntsville Texas back in the Spring of 1989. After their gig the brothers got out on the dance floor with us... Good times!!!

  • band looks like a depeche mode rip off but great song used to hear it in all the new wave/goth clubs, strobe lights, cloves, trech coats and the smell of hairspary . and dont forget the gloves with the cut off fingers. hey babe who do you listen to?

  • Oh Good times that will never come back!

Reminds me when i was teenager in Brazil! ♥

  • This song reminds me of the night club scene in Houston in the late 80s. We'd stay out all night getting lost in a world of goth, underground, and Nu Beat Records which stayed open all night back then!

  • Reminds me of old N.R.G in Cincy, Oh.

  • I love this song!!!!!! Makes me remember everythings

  • you should hear the version of DJ Jon Tupaz of the Philippines, he would scratch (Using Vinyl, two turntables and a Mixer) along with the lyrics of this song using the vinyl of American soviets CCCP.

  • Thanks for posting. Love this song. Great to see a video to go along with it.

  • 6400 was a little stronger than this but they may have played it.

  • This song has 93Q and Club 6400 in Houston written all over it. Thanks for the upload. I didn't go to college in Houston, but I got as close as I could in College Station. Gig 'em.

  • Now I don't have to look for my 45...

  • Holy Crap, brings back so much memories.... used to mix this one with Running - Information Society. I miss my 45RPM Vinyl ! Amazing Video!

  • OMG! Thank u who ever found this video and put it on the Tube!! ADORE THE NEW WAVE/ELECOTRONIC-POP/UNDERSGROUND/PROGRESSIVE MUSIC OF THE 80'S. I wish there was more music like this now adays that the music sucks! Was just a kid but appreciated this decade!!

  • Check out Cut Copy, seriously. New band, really good.

  • Thanks 4 da info mate. I don't hear much music of today. i just dont like it! im stuck in da 80's. im a young laddie with an 80's heart n soul. where r they from, england?

  • I just got an email back from Chris about a week ago. His new music is very dark, gothic industrial. Check him out at his myspace page. His brother was killed in a car crash many years ago. I got to party with them for one night and had an awesome time.

Chris says that this album was produced on an Atari 1040 ST Computer.

    Whoa...

  • Great song, in 88 a bought a cassette from Red Flag which featured this song and pieces of a broken heart. Very underated songs, but of course WLIR played them. thanx for the upload

  • new wave song

  • AWESOME! I love this song and haven't heard it in at least 18 years. I saw these guys live in Palo Alto a long time ago and it was a great show. Brings back fond memories. Thank you for posting.

  • "i love synthpop, red flag, depeche, omd, erasure, berlin, new order etc"

We who lived it call it "New Wave" or "New Romantic" '80s forever!

  • you have a good taste , new wave or new romantic are the best

  • I remember it being called Modern Rock at that point in my neck of the woods and Post Modern elsewhere>

  • That's interesting. Where I lived, we called bands like Red Flag, Depeche Mode, OMD "progressive" music. Now it has so many names. Love the song though.

  • i LIKE THIS SONG!

  • Great!!! Thank you very much popdjdysh!

This is my favorite dance music in my High School Days! (1989)

Thank you very very much for posting!

  • i love synthpop, red flag, depeche, omd, erasure, berlin, new order etc.

  • Someone point me in the rite direction. I love this old school club music. Where to go and find more. Someone e-mail where please.

  • Best bands => depeche mode, erasure, new order, jaz, information sociaty,

  • cool song

  • Великолепная группа из Америки - Red Flag -- это родные братья Крис и Марк Рейнольдсы. Впервые на музыкальной сцене они появились с песнями "Broken Heart" и "Russian Radio" в 1988 году.

  • oh man, I remember being nuts for this song...reminds me of seeing DM play the Pasadena Rose bowl. Nice.

  • WOW, this was my first CD!!!!. i bought Naive Dance CD on Miami Store (Sawgrass Mill, I think)in 1991 (17 years!!! WOW)... Great memories.

  • BIG Thanks for posting this video!

I remember dancing to this song on the club floor (in Philly era 1990). Great times and even better memories. This was one of my favorites, and one of the first 12" vinyls I bought to start my collection.

God, why don't they make music like this anymore??!!

    Thanks again!!

    G.

  • nice, Thank you for posting

  • wow I remember the days in black dancing to the best music of the 80s party in TJ mexico,

    London club hahahaha......

  • si el london nos vestiamos con camisas de rayon, te acuerdas? y zapatos clipers de zuela de goma. a que tiempos, saludos desde ensenada b.c

  • (continued) - I laugh every time I read people rip on disco, new wave, techno, or whatever name applies to their time period (Purdue - '85) Each morphed into the next. DM even stated in their book that Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" synthesizer work contributed to their early work. I wasn't crazy about all disco, but the synth work was great. Punk and New Wave were next - then evolved into techno, etc. Disco and Kraftwerk started all this - the names we give it really don't matter.

  • It still amazes my wife and how much better (and "fun") '80's music was compared to the crap from the mid to late '90's on (there are obviously a few exceptions). DM, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, Red Flag, Camouflage, Devo, New Order, Cause & Effect, Ultravox (Ure), Talk Talk, A-Ha, and many others. Music isn't fun any more....

4 Strings was good fun (that is, until she left). If I hear one more ****ing rock song start with a slow guitar solo...everything sounds the same....oh well...

  • Well put it this way, those days and music set new ground for the new stuff like progressive house, trance and other electronic music we have now...not techno...

  • lol, i was in 9th grade when i used to hear this! youtube rox!

  • Which one is Mark? the dead one?? the guy with the haircut like Martin Gore??

AWESOME BAND, COUNT TO THREE IS THE BEST!!!

  • RIP MArk...I loved If I Ever and Count to Three

  • muy buen tema, extraña mucho la banda, desde la muerte de su vocalista ahora resurgen y siguen igual de excelentes.

  • Wannabe-Martin-Gore ???

  • gud but not brilliant...

  • this is awesome. if you have "rain" too, please put it up. thanks

  • fue parte de los 80 pero lo exclusivo pocos vivieron esa epòca y escucharon a red flag aca fue sumamente eso para pocos lo bueno

  • great song 1988 GuayAQUIL Ecuador

  • We need to consecrate RUSSIA to the IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY.

  • Saw them live 11/20/88 at The Ritz, NYC. They opened for Devo. Great show. I'm sorry to hear Mark died.

  • Hmm. Saw that Mark passed on. That's too bad.

  • Great song but I like "If I ever" just a little bit better. Wonder what Mark & Chris Reynolds are doing these days?

  • It samples Kraftwerk's Music don't stop. Anyone heard that too?

  • new wave rules

  • takes me back when ...

  • I thought this was depeche mode...

Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode and Red Flag have almost the same voices.

  • Love this Song!! anyone knows the chords for Guitar? pls e-mail me :)

  • I remember when Red Flag came to my town-Houston, Tx-and they said that they thought that downtown was really dark and spooky at night. I always thought that was kind of neat.

  • I remeber going to Club A.M. and watching the DJ mix this song into the one he was playing. (I wish I could remember the song)

I didn't realize their sound was kind of like Depeche Mode but Depeche Mode is in a class by itself!

  • Man! back in the day!!! New Wave rocks!

  • love this song!!

  • i didn't know they had a video.

    flashback. way cool!

  • MELHOR SOM

  • new wave is still a part of my life noe and for ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Was there ever a video for that song "Machines?"

  • we used to call it ..techno ...yes kids , back in the 80's .

  • Um....this isn't new wave. It's synthpop kids. This came out in the late 80's when I was in high school. New wave was already done and over with.

  • Pjmorrisey New wave sucks , this is synthpop major difference :)

  • gracias a rock 101

  • 80's new wave kick ass. I also like CCCP american soviet

  • omg..good song..

  • This is seriously kick ass. Man, this was back in the day when the jams wanted to make you dance and go out and buy the record. The music of today is a poor excuse. I mean, I could go and think up a song right now and it would be better than the number one song of today. Or just kick my dog, that would song better than the rap joke you hear today.

  • LONG LIVE NEW WAVE!!!

  • Hi I am looking this video clip, I have arround 5,000 video clips (not logos).

I like change or buy this vide clip.

  • yo fui haberlos el 2002 cuando se presentaron aca en peru en lima antes de que muera uno de los hermanos me paresen lo mejor de la vanguardia electronica de los 80 cuando no definian en ese tiempo la musica solo era tecno pop bueno adios

  • To all you Red Flag haters:

If you hate Red Flag so much, why are you wasting time looking up their videos on YouTube and talking smack about them? Why don't you go watch videos of bands you like, instead of pissing in the wheaties of the fans, like me, who want to see videos like this?

Take your negative energy somewhere else!

    Sincerely,

A fan of Red Flag who also happens to consider Depeche Mode his favorite band

  • It touches your heart does it?

  • Does anyone know how Mark Reynolds died? All I know is that he died in April, 2002.

  • Thank you for posting the Red Flag video! I am excited that they are touring and coming to Northern California soon. Yay!

  • "Inspired by Depeche Mode?!?" I always hated this band, and how they completely copied DM. What they were TRYING to do was get money from idiots who were trying to jump on the DM bandwagon and inadvertently buy THEIR album.

I smelled a rat a mile away the first time I saw this in 1988. DM should have sued them!

Even the lyrics: "...now that we've learned to deceive you..."

Glad they fell on their faces and disappeared fast.

  • I was looking everywhere for it too!!! And then i thought it was naive art but that turned out to be the album.

  • man i search high and low for this song thought is was a Depeche Mode track thanks for posting. New wave rocks .."im in a time zone think about distruction"-pil

  • really sounds like DM. good song but where r they now?

  • they couldn't have copied much more. the singer must love martin gore. dressed the same, hair the same. but i still liked them.

  • i remember this song, when i was in high school we joined a dance contest and we won 2nd place...coz russian radio was the hottest song that time...hahaha! what an experience!

  • Thank God someone knows about great 80's music. The Shamen, The Beloved, Information Society, KMFDM, Tones on Tails, Bronski Beat. Thats the real deal. Thanks

  • Russian Raaaaadio motha fuckaaa cool i was in the Lima pERÚ CONCERT. defintely awesome

  • This song was a big favorite at the club NEO in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The extended remix was particularly popular.

  • these were the days!!!!

  • Dude, they even used the car from 'Never Let Me Down Again'!! They sure didn't hide their DM wannabeness.

  • 1988 a great year for Depeche mode clones like Camouflage and Redflag..

  • I wouldn't call them clones cuz no one compares to DM. But Red Flag does have some great songs.

  • I like Redflag, reminds me of DM with Martin Gore on lead Vox.. this song is there Best.

  • Yes ofcourse it reminds you of that cuz that was obviously their intention.

I heard they are real jerks in real life. Or were. As one of them is gone. Wonder why he killed himself? Not interested enough to go look it up but if you know then let me know.

Oh and watching some of their live videos, man they sucked. I think I saw them live once or twice, obviously it wasn't memorable. But Naive Art is one of my fave CD's.

  • Red Flag fue mi primer cassette de EBM que tuve..hace ufffffff!!!!!!

  • ebm???!!!

  • Saw them at One Step Beyond (a club) in Santa Clara, CA

  • i have almos all their albums..one of the best synth pop acts..too bad nike reynolds died...i loved their dark haunting synth pop, like Camouflage, Depeche Mode and others.

  • redflag[dot]org

  • great song

they were obviously inspired by Depeche Mode, the greatest band EVER

  • YEAH!

  • Gran canción.

  • they´re coming to Tijuana June 22nd. to the 1st. Necropolis Fest in this part of the underground region... come and join us....

  • Bad Depeche Mode.

  • What a narrow-minded comment to make. Let's see, what modern-rock/new-wave radio hits did you pen?

    Didn't think so...

  • Let's see how long this one stays up. Beyond excellent; the original version is so hard to find.

  • yeah! it rocks!

  • amazing red flag

  • excelente cancion. Gracias por subir tan buen video

  • awesome song man

    thanks.

    russian Radio rox
