Not so much as the game itself copying Megaman as much as it is what idea started the doujin game's creation. Marisa in ZUN's Canon seems to copy the many moves of her many opponents throughout the game, most infamously as she is the first (that we see) to use master spark and is one of her most iconic attacks. In truth though, it was Yuuka, our Axe Crazy florist that originally created the master spark herself, and Marisa copied it. Its entire point of the Grimoire of Marisa.

Every time you defeat a boss, I kept saying "You got...(enter weapon name here)"

So if I wanted to I could make a game involving a character going around killing bosses and stealing their weapon, then using it to kill another boss that is weak to that weapon? I could have sworn that was copyrighted, or people would be making them all the time. There are no Mario clones. If you look at Bonk, Sonic, Klonoa, Bubsy, etc., you'll see that nothing is exactly like Mario with different characters. Different mechanics. The only Mario rip-offs are fan-hacks of real Mario games.

@ Azimaet: Okay, I was wrong and should rephrase what I said. There's only a couple Mario clones. Great Giana Sisters is a blatant ripoff (compare the titles) in the same way this is a ripoff of Mega Man. Giana Sisters was done illegally. But other platformers like Sonic and Bonk are too different from Mario. Sonic has shields and spin attacks/dashes and is fast, Bonk headbutts, climbs walls with his teeth, and doesn't need 100 of anything for a 1-up. Yet they're often considered ripoffs.

Recommended if you want a tougher MegaMan Clone, I would call it more of an homeage/referance/respect thing towards MegaMan thou, rather than being a mere "clone" perhaps, but nonetheless, this walkthrough makes it look kinda easy thou, but it really is hard, but it`s all about memorization of course and sometimes using the right weapon, like it should be, for a real challenge, Use only the standard weapons and try to avoid getting hit^^

Well, one possible explanation can be gleamed from Rinnosuke's explanation that things exist in Touhou because there is sufficient disbelief in the outside world. Given so few males seem to have combat ability, Touhou's female ownership could be caused by "modern" society's disbelief that females could ever outmatch males in terms of power.

Found on a japanese site, author unknown,total death is 1(used for speed run purposes), total time is about 41 minutes.

anyway, I think whoever did this run is amazing, he know the stages like back of his hand and invented a unique path on each stage to save maximum time, this and a high level diaplay of skill. Hope you enjoy^^
