  • Doesn't do well with +P ammo so it's not as well made as you think. Pick up Massad Ayoob's SIG SAUER book.

  • Thank you for this great video!

  • good vid but it actually does have a sort of safety feature we call a

"hard pull"... meaning the first pull of the trigger (uncocked) is roughly 12-13 lbs, which is quite difficult to just set off, u pretty much gotta mean to pull it..know what im sayin...the rest of the time(while cocked) its roughly a 4 lbs trigger pull....great vid tho lots of good info:)

  • @bino607 I actually have a P6 and you are right about the "hard pull" but it is actually about 26 lbs.

  • great video, very informative. cant wait to get my new p225, thanks!

  • Thanks for the great video!

  • dude...verry verry verry dude.... dude..

  • @tikkelikken Very, very, very rude of u

  • I'd like to see a video about Sig Sauer P210 pistol.

  • Field stripping is nice but id like to know how to do a detail strip, ive been havin trouble removing the bolt from the slide?

  • @charley977 its actually called a breech block not a bolt but you can remove it by taking out the roll pin on the side of the slide by the serrations.

  • Very good review. I'm picking one of these up tommorow for $435, looks new, the grip melts in my hand I love the feel of this gun.

  • ok , great info....now are these worth buying or are you better off buying a new civilian model?

  • i was wonderin about that hammer color. titatium!

  • I need one of these BAD!

  • i dunno man. i own a p6 its a nice weapon, ill give it that. but i dont know that i would recommend it for a new shooter's self defense weapon, though. its only 9mm which dont get me wrong thats big enough but not for a newbe shooter. theyre going to do some missing, and with only 8 rounds at your disposal that could be tricky. what do you think?

  • The P6 WAS a Police weapon in many countries for at least a decade and used very successfully.

Sig just went to a double stack mag for more capacity.

But if you cant do what needs done in 9 shots, more capacity wont help. 8+1 It handles +p fine.

Some say its the best Sig ever made, acquisition and balance is perfect

    Great guns..

  • Very good explanations. All in all good video. Keep it up.

  • Continued... basically, this gun will not fire unless you pull the trigger, because of the pin and the hammer block (only deactivated by a trigger pull). Even if you drop it on the hammer, and even if your thumb slips while using the decocking lever making the hammer snap home. This is, in fact, one of the "safest" gun safety designs on the market in terms of avoiding misfires. It will not fire unless you pull the trigger, period. I've owned and used one for over 10 years. Thanks for the vid.

  • Correction, "has no safety what so ever" or "no safety device of any kind" is wrong. It has a comprehensive internal safety system, just no EXTERNAL safety lever. A firing pin block is deactivated only when the trigger is pulled. A hammer lock only deactivates when the trigger is pulled. A hammer return spring ensures the hammer returns to its lock position, and yes there is a "decocking lever" that returns the hammer without disengaging those other internal safeties to safely decock the gun.

  • very very

  • Very well done video.

  • awesome review, of an awesome gun man. i would carry this thing with me all the time, no matter that it only has 8 rounds for such a large frame by modern standards, it's too good a gun to trade for something "gadgety" as a glock imo! btw nice to see an american actually pronouncing nagant with a silent T! the Russian spoken pronunciation sounds even more like a "nahgUn" if it makes sense? anyways, thumbs up and fave'd

  • @lobzdik

It's a larger frame than today's sub-compacts (think Walther PPS or Glock 27), but the single stack mag means a very thin profile (only 1.3" wide). This gives the user a much meatier and solid grip for better handling and accuracy. I say if someone can't hit their target with 9 rounds (8 +1 in the chamber), then you should reconsider carrying or go get lots more practice.

  • I don't think I have ever seen such an informative field strip before. Thank you. You've done an excellent job. I'd love to own a Pistol like that but, they're illegal here.

The SAS use the Sig Sauer P228. Do you have one? I'd like to see a review on one.

    Once again very informative.

  • This is so well done . I also bought this gun and love, it Im glad to hear you say that you feel that it would be a good CCW . I do wish that you would have a video some day on the best modern holsters for this gun, so far I have read on the net and have not found many to pick from. Thanks again, great work and you do, know your firearms!

  • well made well made well made very very very well done very very well well well

  • I have a P6, its an awesome pistol. Very fine trigger and quite accurate. The only thing to remember is that this pistol is more ammo finicky than a more recent design. It was designed in the 70's and SIG probably never thought it would see anything other than FMJ.

  • @FergusonTO35

I've fired CCI FMJ, Winchester FMJ & HP, Federal FMJ, Monarch FMJ, and Gold Dot HP Duty Ammunition and I can honestly say that in over 2000 rounds (I track my use... I know, crazy) I've never had a jam. Not one.

  • hey great video...it helped me alot

  • And one more thing to add...I believe the hammer actually had the hook design incorporated into it so that if it was dropped on the hammer (and the gun fired), it would break, and that would clear the officer carrying the gun of being blamed for firing it (which is why it's hooked, not just hollow). The P225s have a solid hammer.

  • @zchris87v

Not true. With the "hammer lock" internal safety, and the "pin lock" internal safety, this gun just cant fire under normal handling (and normal handling mistakes) unless you pull the trigger. If someone built a gun with a critical part "designed to break"... I don't think it'd be adopted by any military.

  • @pandyamk Turns out you are correct. Upon further researching it, the hammer was made like that so it would bend if it was dropped repeatedly, and a bent hammer would be an indication that the gun needed to be inspected to ensure all internal components were intact. Now that I think about it, it makes a hell of a lot more sense than it breaking, but that's the commonly-accepted answer to the question of why the cutout hammer exists. Luckily, mine's never been dropped on the hammer :)

  • I've got a question for you...so I've got an 11/1980 dated P6, W. German police trade in (not a P225), imported by CAI I believe.

My question is...if this gun was made in West Germany, and issued to police there, why is "Made in West Germany" written in English on the slide, and not in German?

  • This are amazing guns!

Get Wolff Recoil and Mag Springs for $20

Change Main Trigger to 24#, maybe a ramp job for $50 and you have an incredible weapon.

Love mine, Chromed mine too...Love it

  • I bought one of these, great pistol, very accurate. The only english words in the whole owner's manual said " Made In Germany", so this vidio was very helpful. If you buy one of these, be warned, the magazines are scarce and expensive.

  • Immediately after watching this video I stripped down 2 P6's that I'd been eyeballing at a local pawn shop. They had a lot of holster wear but were both very clean on the inside. Pawn shop guy didn't know the difference though, so I beat him up on the prices. Took them both home with, holsters and 4 mags total for $500. Boo-yaaa!!! Thanks for the field strip demo, NAGANTMAN. I owe you a beer!!

  • Great buy...he probably kicked himself once he figured out what he did...

  • cool vid i want this vid sooo much
