  • Like with anything in life, when in doubt, add bacon.

  • I think Heston is a genius. Other TV chefs make great stuff and a fantastic cooks but Heston is just so creative and that's a big part of good food.

  • In other videos, I've seen the staff at the Fat Duck preparing this dish with nitrogen. Is it really the same thing as the dish that we see in this video? This version of the B&E ice cream looks much more appetizing.

  • Heston? Nicoli? YOGSCAST?

  • how do u do get that football shape with the spoon that he did with the caramel?

  • @bahmand Get two dessert spoons in warm water. take a spoonfull of the caramel, and scoop from spoon to spoon until rounded. Its called a 'quinell'. You might find a video on youtube somewhere of it being done. It'll make more sense that way:)

  • @bahmand it's called a quenelle. you just run a hot or warm spoon length ways across the food item, and it should curl in on itself making a round shape...it takes so much practice though.

  • @BloominHestonthal I saw you on TV last night explaining your recipe for herb-encrusted pizza. I did like it but blimey, I thought you were taking the piss when you said to “roll out the dill dough”.

  • OMFG! HAIR!

  • absolutely amazing...i would love to study under heston even just for one day!

  • 0_0 heston with hair AND without glasses

  • @terroneonline just fuck off you ungrateful fuck you have no idea of the real appreciation of food, nor proper nutrition

  • @terroneonline i hope you realise you sound like a complete and utter douche bag. if you knew anything about food or educating your palette you wouldn't write so much horse shit...go back to KFC and eat your fried chicken cooked by some pimply teenager that doesn't even know how to wash his hands after taking a shit and then cooks your food...good luck.

  • as nice as that looks id rather just have a bacon and egg sarnie and a bowl of ben and jerrys

  • just shove it in a fuckin cone for fucks sake

  • Hairson Blumenthal...

  • My cousin works as a chef in a small country pub-restaurant. He is constantly pissed-off by the conservative tastes of the clientele, & seeks to challenge them with ever more outrageous stuff.

His latest concoction is the ‘geni-menu’, consisting of dishes made to look like male & female genitalia. The most popular is the ‘Vagina-steak’, which is actually made to squirt juice up into your face if you prod it the right way. Most people think he’s just a disgusting idiot!

  • @SuperTruth77 haha cool. Vagina steak. I wanna try that. At least I know it's juicy hehe.

  • @SuperTruth77 ....

  • @SuperTruth77

    Sounds like one.

  • I think Heston is well cool, bring on more tasty delights mr Heston.

  • if he reveals it why do we have to drag ourselves to eat at his restaurant? we might as well make it at home

  • this guy makes some funny food

  • This man is pure genius.

  • Ridiculous.

  • otherwise known as 'nonce cooking'

  • @greaserleo Get a life

  • @Aruxion go play with some dry ice and butt plugs.

  • @greaserleo Quit raging.

  • Egg and bacon ICECREAM? How did I not think of this?

  • well jesus christ of latter day saints !! (-_-)

  • can u plz tell me how much everything is? (like how much bacon, sugar, egg yolk, etc.) because i really wanna make this but i dont know how much im suppose to have of everything.

  • So what's the big deal about this? There is pizza icecream, fried pork skin icream, etc... you can make icecream of whatever you want.

BTW, I hate those servings.... If I order a egg and bacon icecream, I want a good serving.... not just a spoon ¬¬

  • @jalex23 He says it himself. You expect bacon and eggs to be savory, however this is sweet. Thats why he served caramel with it..

  • @damoos Uh? Did I miss something?

  • It Heston in the womb

  • eeeerr, jelly tea :S but the icecream actually sounds good... is that wierd? haha

  • This guy is a fuckin window licker

  • @sextonqpr HAHAHAHA

  • Eggs and milk sound more like custard, than ice cream to me.

I bet that little glop right there would cost you a fortune in the restaurant.

  • @Draknfyre It's set at £160 for a meal and you choose what courses you want. To be honest, I think haute cuisine is a massive waste of money for what you get no matter how well prepared it is.

  • @LiamCrowley1990

Ouch. Yes, I agree, it's a bit pricey. Thanks for the info.

  • @LiamCrowley1990

Actually for £160 you don't choose what courses you want but you get every dish on the tasting menu. I went to the Fat Duck early this year and had a fantastic time. The whole price issue can be applied to anything really. It's like some people can't understand how people pay so much for clothes or cars or whatever. Obviously, you don't eat in these places everyday. For me it was very much a one-off experience, and in my mind it was worth it.

  • @0ptriX I agree. Nobody should eat like this every day, but to do something pretty amazing like eating at a top Michelin restaurant is certainly a one-off. If you go to such a restaurant, what do you expect? Of course it's going to be expensive.

  • @0ptriX yeah 160 quid is VERY reasonable for a restaurant of this calibre.

It's the wine that tops it =P

  • sounds nice but I would have to have an extremely light meal to be able to stomack that

  • @0004312000 Sounds nice? What's next? Toe-nail sorbet? Or dog-shit mousse?

  • @UKGUYDOWN Well I would guess You should try something first before judgement is passed. I know I have been surprised by many of Hestons feast, but maybe not everyone can appreciate different thinking when it comes to cooking

  • I am going to make this in due corse .. will put up a video when i have done it

  • Mr Blumenthal is my favourite TV chef - he has passion and spirit and a flair for the extraordinary - reminds me of myself.

  • super-cool stuff but from all this bacon, full-fat milk, sugar and butter... each bite and heart attack?

  • Oh yeah give me that!!

  • that compote is uneven around the sides...

  • Pity its not served any more..

  • Geez... I didn't know Bradley Nowell was a world class Chef, too!

  • Looks all good apart from the tomato & red pepper compote! I feel like that would completely dominate over the ice cream. But overall I don't think this recipe is that surprising - salty & sweet is a great combo.

  • mmmm bacon !

  • Hold on, you've got to try it before you knock it, right?

  • fail

  • Well I got the part about the maple syrup....outside of that... naaa!

  • drops of mapl syrup give me all the maple syrup

  • looking at this I really can't stop wincing...

  • Why wouldn't you simmer the bacon in the milk? You'd get alot more flavor and quicker

  • would rather suck the shit out a tramps arse than eat this rubbish

  • HESTON HAS HAIR.

  • total price for the platter - bout' a million pounds.

  • all of it looks fucking disgusting.

  • so lil ice cream :(. and i bet it costs like a qq amount of cash lol

  • o.m.g he has hair

  • and it probabley costs a kidney......

  • Did he actually just refer to it as a "controversial dish" ?

    What a tool :/

  • Really wanna try this

  • ooh lala listen to heston's immaculately softly spoken english.

  • I WANT SOME! :D

  • For fuck's sake................

  • a few drops of sirup!!??? XD

  • nouvelle cuisine bullcrap, u dont go in this restaurant to eat u go there so u can tell others how much money u spent on 3 drops of syrup, fail.

  • @greyglee well actually, you don't go to eat. You go to taste. The portion size is adequate for you to savour each bite, and at the end of the meal, you are satisfied but not stuffed.

  • @WiseOldTabbyCat Erm Im kinda gonna use your comment as a quote in my University Assignment, for a case study on Heston, I thought Id let you know you that, just so Id feel guilt free lol

  • @greyglee rolf, yeah gimi a meal not a taste test

  • Got hair?!?!

  • hestons got hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ask him to cook 1.5 inch thick filet steak medium without his chem lab,he will not be able to.

  • Maybe so, but I bet he's got a lot more money than you or I. :(

  • : where's homer??

  • forget the eggs, bacon ice cream, hell yeah!

  • @omfgroflma0 lol fattening

  • what?!

  • Richard Blaise tried making the ice cream on Top Chef...it works! Heston's crazy culinary specials works quite well

  • That sounds so gross...I wanna try it though, but I hate bacon haha

  • hes very lucky his reputation didnt go down the shit and you know why it didnt? It is because he took the full responsiblity and made sure of it and thats what makes a 3 Michelin chef better equiped to handle these situations.

  • Heston is the copycat of ferran! There is nothing original about him, everything he does ferran has already done.

  • @coco9419 i dont think so, heston, ferran and thomas keller are pioneers, and he is completely self taught chef, with only consultancy from scientists to aid his work. if he is a copycat, why would he be awarded with an honorary doctorate in chemistry??

  • @LewisPoldenBaby To answer your comment:Professor Peter Barham, Professorial Teaching Fellow in Physics at Bristol University and author of the book The Science of Cooking.Professor Andy Taylor at the University of Nottingham with whom Blumenthal has sponsored a PhD studentship. He is not self taught.

  • @coco9419 well, he has never worked in a professional kitchen that wasn't his (apart from a day in le gavroche) he taught himself to cook. his methodology was trial and error wit flavours that he remembred from visits to michelin starred estab;ishments. but touche nonetheless ;)

  • @LewisPoldenBaby I do understand what you said. For someone in his shoes/background number 2 in the world is very impressive.

  • wow heston with hair

  • @jehovanator i know! weird right?

  • its even a gourmet dish!! lol

  • with a cup of jelliiiiiiiii tea! lol

  • HURRRrr

  • why put the syurp away from the meal pointless

  • @sudko123 what do u mean its away from the meal? u dont have to get up and leave your seat to go and dip your meal in it, do u?!

  • Heston is the man!!! Of course it tastes good, he has 3 Michelin stars!!

  • Has any one actually eaten this?Heston's a genius, imo he's the only english chef to challenge the amazing french chefs.

  • Heston is no idiot people...

  • ha all you yanks and general idiots slagging this off with out trying it.

i have attempted to make it, failed unfortunately, i do not have the finesse. the concept is strong in my mind, jsut the ability i lack.

Heston is an absolute legend, molecular gastronomy is the war forth...it'll be served in spacestations and everything...

  • If people ate this regularly they'd be the fattest and most unhealthy people on the face of earth.

  • Indeed they would, but bear in mind this is an internationally renowned haute cuisine restaurant. If you ate steak au poivre & savoyard potatoes every day they'd also be the fattest, most unhealthy people. Some people eat pizza & hamburgers every week, sometimes even more than once a week; not even home-made or fresh ingredients, but the abominable rubbish from fast food shops. Compared to that ridiculous sort of diet this is healthy.

  • so its sweet?

  • anyone notice that this is a re arrangement of a proper english break fast? you got the tomato, the mushroom, the toast, the egg, and some type of pork product. the only thing missing is the baked beans and the black pudding.

  • These dishes are not served as a one-off dish. They're usually part of multi-course meals that last several hours. The individual servings are small because you have like 20-30 of them.

This isn't a jaunt out to Mc Donalds, it is a whole different kind of restaurant

  • most people aren't fat bastards like you though

  • i have gestational diabetes....

    and that was uncalled for...

  • 'i have gestational diabetes... and that was uncalled for...'

That's funny coming from the same person who stated 'most people want a whole huge bowl of icecream'. So you're pregnant & have diabetes now? Don't eat so much sugar!

Incidentally the 'some crap' you refer to is from the chef who owns the Fat Duck restaurant which in 2001 was judged Restaurant of the Year by Michelin, 2005 Best Restaurant IN THE WORLD by S. Pellegrino Awards - the two most prestigious restaurant awards on the planet.

  • fyi, i said most people, i did not include myself in it, i don't eat that much sweet stuff... no matter if i'm pregnant or not...

and it's no reason to call someone a fat bastard...

  • 'i said most people, i did not include myself'

I see, so you're speaking for what you perceive to be the majority of people, but excluding yourself from that representation. To paraphrase then: Most people EXCEPT you are greedy & gorge themselves on buckets of ice-cream.

Please cite your source for this claim.

'no reason to call someone a fat bastard'

That's essentially what you've done, called everyone a greedy pig, oh except yourself of course...

  • why are you so negative, have i offended you personally in some way?

  • plus i'm not saying people are greedy, why is wanting ice-cream greedy? i'm not calling anyone a bastard... o would eat more of it if it wasn't unhealthy for me...

i guess it's a cultural thing, where i come from we care about plentiness and taste, not gourmet artwork...

  • Ha ha! You complain that you're 'not saying people are greedy' after having said how people want huge bowls of ice-cream & that where you're from people care about quantity. Perhaps you need to understand the meaning of the word 'greed', because you've described it perfectly without realizing it.

As for being offensive I generally find arrogant ignorance offensive, even more so when teamed with self-contradiction.

Incidentally, where you're from how many world renowned restaurants are there?

  • Hi catalyst- I just read your profile and loved it! Yeah, quantity before quality- that's the way to go- NOT. I saw what that does to Americans... the memory of .their unspeakable " food" is with me still.....I don't think Israel has produced any world class eateries - they're too afraid of offending God by breaking Levitical laws and experimenting. :)

  • Compared to eating snails this is completely normal. Hell, starving people in Africa eat disease infested rats, dirt, insects n shiyt ,like that.

  • I'd try it! Looks tasty! Two of my favorite dishes! Bacon and ice cream! YUM! XP

  • I'd try it. I don't generally like food plated very fancily, but the concept is strong.

  • do you know what the mechine from switzerland is called? (he was using it in this episode)

  • is it in this clip?

  • no its on the same episode

  • @daoeba I think it's a mass spectrometer... It measures particles of food as they pass through the air.

  • @rikaitch It's called a...wait for it...A Digital Thermometer! You can see it is reading out a number in degrees C.

  • @rikaitch Completely way off mate, was a simple, accurate digital thermometer.

  • i've always said bacon makes everything better...

  • Sounds yummy. I'd eat this.

  • WHAT THE FUCK?

  • yummie :P

  • it looks like pudding :D

  • i got an recipe of bacon and eggs foam, from the fat duck thats realy jummie

  • wtf was he smoking when he thought this recipe up? lol

  • Crunchy Frog anyone?

  • that was awsome my mom realy was sick of the video dude o ya narly

  • sick !!!!!!!

  • Can anyone tell me what thermometer the dessert guy is using to measure the stirring egg/bacon/sugar mixture?

  • Wow, Europe surely makes their dish the fancy way. I like it :)

  • Heston is as queer as a lemonade sandwich!

  • I've been to his resturant. It was awesome.

  • You lucky man!! I want to eat there at least once before I die.

  • Didn't you see the news in the UK, there was an outbreak of food poisoning. Fortunately it has been reopened after a few lessons from Environmental Health.

He does create some amazing food I wouldn't mind trying out, but not for the vast amount he tries to charge. He's not THAT good to demand the price he charges!

  • @urbex2007 what do u mean he is not that good!? u think he got his 3 Michelin stars because the judges fancy baldies!?

  • LOL 'not THAT good' What???

  • He owns the best restaraunt in the world, to be fair the ingerdients and the experience are probably well worth the price.

  • actually best restaurant in the world is El Bulli,OWNED BY FERRAN

  • And in my opinion,Noma which is not far behind,(3rd in the world)will beat them as the best in the world within the next 2 years.

  • Comment removed

  • ha y is he 12

  • yummy i wanna go to his place for dinner!!!!!

  • I want some fucking bacon and egg ice cream now mo fuckas!

  • I love bacon and eggs... I just got done eating some. :)

  • eeww!

  • Egg and Bacon ice cream, what a chancer, If he was a tailor instead of cook it would be invisible cloth. He's made a fair living conning no-brain media types and the rest of the nouveaux elite suckers our of their cash.

  • is taking simple things and turning them into some sort of maniacal evil genius take-over-the-world plot your past time? maybe wanted to start selling some fucking weird ice cream.

  • I really wanna go to his reastaurant

  • Heston is so damn clever!"

  • Apparently the food poisoning was because of members of his staff coming in ill

  • oh my goodness he has hair!

anyone know about the 400 or something cases of food poisenings at the fat duck!? its been on the news

  • more like, it's been in the sun. There were 400 suspected cases, and the real cases were the flu or something

  • thats not really food poisoning then -is it!?

  • exactly my point

  • i've eaten at the Fat Duck, believe me. It's unbelieveablly good.

English bacon is very different from American Bacon which is comes from the pork belly, very fat. English bacon is from the back, the loin area, much leaner, and has less fat.

This chef is the second best in the world, He's light years better than Gordon Ramsey, Jamie Oliver, and Morimoto.

  • Mmm...heart attack ice cream. Bet it tastes great though!

  • I ate his restaurant, blimming marvellous, I....NNGGHHH... Loved the foo... (Parp)... thats better, but for some strange reason, after... NGHH... eating the glow in the dark... OOOWW.... jelly with added plutonium... NNGHHHH... I awoke to find my self on a life support machi..... BLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...

  • are you kidding me?!!

  • I made like infinite of those back at scouts camp..

    GOSH!!

  • Although it seems odd, i'd love to try it :'D

  • Yuuumy (sarcastic)

  • jade goody dying? im sorry but he is so much more talented thn jade goody, who is milking this cancer thing a bit too much, Patrick Swayze just gets on with it
