  • harold miner was the first prototype of vince carter

  • FUCK the start of the video killed my ears

  • who's the dude in the nuggest jersey?

  • @jorjortownsel mahmoud abul rauf

  • @jorjortownsel

Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, but his name was Chris Jackson at that time. He was the PG for LSU when Shaq played there.

  • Harold Miner was the reason i became a Heat Fan......Sucks that he was a Bust but he could Dunk his Ass off!!

  • @4thletta yeah its sucks how injuries can disrupt and end a athletes career early. As he is USC's all time leading scorer head could have been a NBA success.

  • This period in basketball is timeless, the players are legends, and its the most authentic showcase of athleticism I've seen..... the players now can never fill the shoes of these guys dunking, Harold Miner was the most under rated player and him dunking put his name on the map. Long live the legends!

  • @6UNLEASHED All around this time when i was younger i bleed basketball, because of guys like Minor, Kemp, Rider, Jordan. etc. now i could care less. Not sure if its cuz i got older or something has been lost since these days in the NBA

  • @jreese6969 After like 2001, I gave up on basketball and everything...the game changed, the players changed, the best period in basketball history, to me, is the 90's...had the best players in the world, players that still make me say WOW!

  • @6UNLEASHED Yeah that's me too. That Magic was lost

  • @jreese6969 They just lost the spirit of what great basketball was about...Pippen, Barkley, Jordan, Horace grant, Kemp, Kerry Kittles, larry johnson...goes on and on

  • @6UNLEASHED My favorite players were Nick Van Exel and Isiah Rider. but yeah if whatever it is that is missing was to ever come back i would be a fan again but for now I just have better things to do with my time.

  • @jreese6969 Exactely, or just watch and become a fan of another sport...for me, it became hockey lol

  • Too many folks don't realize how smooth Kenny Smith is...he should had won at least 1 duk contest

  • i liked harold miner cause he dunk hard!

  • @MrSquirrelsmith - Huh? He had 1 dunk,ONE!****.....Smith should had one this!

  • The Baby Jordan, forget about Kemp

  • This guys a gangsta? His real name is Clarence

  • Most people don't realise Miner's last dunk was the exact dunk VC pulled off in 2000 only Vince went Right handed. Vince's was more beast though.

  • @venuecam i agree, but the boy miner was still "like that"

  • @venuecam it wasnt the exact same...VC did it reverse

  • BABY JORDAN!

  • thanks for the video, but fuck your loud intro music.

  • I love kids and all, but I am so sick of All-Star weekend catering to people who are less than four feet tall. Nba looks like Disney anymore. I WANT BASKETBALL, NOT PROPS N GIMMICKS. Flashing lights every time somebody dunks. smh

  • Prince ea referred me

  • This was when the dunk contest was fuckin amazing...now its wiggity waCK!!!

  • rofl. kenny smith. LMAO

  • people are so fucken jaded to dunking now! if this contest were to happen now all of the sports reporters would be calling for it to be taken away?!!?!?!? its so simple NBA go back to the rules you had in place when Jordan and Nique were murdering the dunk contests!!!!!!!! If the players choke they choke who cares..i hate all these do overs they get now and all the fucking props. and to all the sports "analysts" who say to do away with the dunk contest..a big FUCK YOU to all of yall!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well he won slam dunk contest...that's all, thank you very much

  • i liked 1:30 the best

  • My two favorite from way back when was Glen RIce and Gary Payton but I also have to incluse my boy John Stockton

  • The feel of the NBA in general was so much better back then.

  • i dont know ceballos windmill was disgusting. favorite dunk of the contest.

  • baby miner!, still got the original heat shirt , classic

  • baby miner!

  • dope

  • how come i never heard of this guy!. ..

  • BABY JORDAN !!!

  • @ballersd555 you read the article on yahoo too? haha. thats honestly the reason I decided to watch this.

  • @brainiac101693 yeah I read the article.and thats the only reason I watched this

  • @ballersd555 Same reason here..His story's pretty sad actually.

  • @ballersd555 Yeah Me too. I just read the article and decided to look him up on youtube.

  • he was the shit on nba jam original the first baby jordan

  • It is Harold Miner not Minor. Greg Minor spelled his last name like that.

  • minors reverse gives cold chills not to mention it might be the dopest dunk ever

  • @sstslide270out yea its really amazing. I wish his carreer was as good as his dunks. He was a good baller. but they ddin't really give him a chance sadly

  • They used to call harold minor ''baby jordan'' that was his nickname, this is all he basically did his biggest feat in the NBA just a jammer, but on the actual floor during game time , naw , nill he didnt play half the time and didnt render pretty much anything else, I heard he got released back to the minors in the end.

  • #VIDEOPOSTERID# I am an awesome 5'9 black dude and I am able to dunk over people. Anyone can easily do it, you just need to follow the right training program. I used the one from | 50 inch vertical [dot] com | but just about any training plan is good as long as they work which many do not

    1993 NBA Slam Dunk Competition

  • #VIDEOPOSTERID#, is 5 7, American and can dunk easily. Wtf you mean white guys can t jump? It s (just|simply|all)# about the training people do to get their vertical leap to be strong enough to dunk. For me, I just used the training program over at 50 inch vertical (dot) com

  • #VIDEOPOSTERID# shit, what else can I say. If you play basketball, you need to all know the right way to dunk, I just not long ago finished the coaching program at 50inch vertical[dot]com - I wish I did it sooner so I could've started dunking in my H.S basketball team (I'm just 5'8!)

    1993 NBA Slam Dunk Competition

  • weatherspoon won this contest if u ask me, btw, this was minor's only moment of shine in the nba, basically did nothing else his whole career

  • @deeharr1 Couldn't agree more - Spoon was the shit!!

  • i find the jersey of harold miner (up and down) yur price is my price good estate

  • there's my dad david benoit

  • @AmiBrezzy cool! he was great dunker too.

  • Harold Miner was a beast! Makes you feel sorry for the rim.

  • MAN, that was Vinsanity before its tim !!! I remember Minor, one of the best dunker in the slam contest. He lacks the charisma of Carter but damned he could dunk !

  • 3:19 is sick

  • @KGLookALike

    Vince went the opposite way

  • @KGLookALike idiot...

  • clarence could get it done upstairs

  • miner didnt hav no competition

  • i wish i had seen harold miner play... i didnt even know about him until he ended up getting no playing time, and then eventually retired.

  • He always had no playing time lol. 1992-1996 was his legacy. 9.6 points per game but the guy could fucking dunk. I wish he would have stayed in and was traded to a team that could work around him.

  • @PacsunXCIII

I agree. Much like the Celtics/lakers have alot of weapons now, he (Miner) would be a great asset to assist a franchise(or at least try to start one) but no one knew how to work his game into an offense. If you watch his highlights or were around back then to watch, he wasn't a fluke- he was a decent player. Looking back Miner now reminds me of a pre-Shannon Brown. I'm sure if given the chance he would've developed a decent long range shot much like Shannon has done.

  • thats the best double pump reverse i have ever seen

  • He had no "J". No one can be 6'4" and make in the NBA with a Power Forwards range. He actually shot his 3 pointers fading away from the basket. The coolest thing about Harold Miners dunks was they were a combo of Jordon and Dominique. He jumped at Jordons angles but finished powerfully and windmilled like Nique. One of the NBA's all tine best dunkers. He just had a weak jump shot. Too bad

  • baby jordan would go on to a stellar career, in the process rewriting nearly all of his namesake's records, before succumbing to a fatal case of priapism

  • are you serious?

  • the better question is, are you serious? actually i was kidding about miner breaking jordan's records, but i'm pretty sure he died from complications of priapism....remember, the magic little pill is all fun and games until someone gets hurt

  • lol i didnt know 2 much about him, when i looked up the whole baby jordan thing i knew u were talkin shiit, and dude isn't dead, and definitely did not die for priapism

  • Where's Harald now? What's he doing?

  • Harold Miner only played four years in the NBA and won two Slam Dunk Contests.

    Incredible.

  • his dunk was gud but not ready 4 carter \

  • HAROLD MINER !!!!

  • these are better then the dunks lebron is pullin of in practice

  • @poop33445566 these guys have a VERTICAL JUMP. Lebron doesn't have a vertical jump.

  • @poop33445566 basketball sucks today, and is fake-no doubt about it.

  • Kenny Smith was in quite a few dunk contests I see. He was very creative with his dunks. Clarence Weatherspoon surprised me in this one as well. Didn't know he could jump like that. Harold Miner was just a beast though. SO much power behind his dunks. He definitely deserved this win. Thanks for posting this.

  • kenny smith

  • Than you know what i mean...maybe every generation sticks to his own favourite time, but this hyped up bullshit i see nowadays is really emberassing to what the game used to be..For example take the the dunk contest this year..I mean...dancing nba players in the player introduction???...

    WTF...

    Its just how i feel..

    Peace..

  • I miss these days....

    The NBA today is Wack!!!

  • agreed

  • "miner is finer"... lol

  • Harold Miner did not want to be the next Michael Jordan, he wanted to be the first Harold Miner...and for all intents and purposes, he succeeded.

  • man, ok, he is done, dont' keep kicking the man when he is not on the floor anymore. he was my favorite, i wish it worked out for him but it didnt'. But i watched him every game in miami, it was strange that they took him out of games when he was on fire at times. i never got it.

  • I feel your pain, my favorite player in the league growing up was Shawn Kemp, and to watch him fuck up his career...he was basically done by 30, when most stars still get a couple great years.

  • @TLGATZKE Shawn Kemp also started his career @18 years of age.

  • @TLGATZKE i feel u on that one...although i've been a laker fan all my life, kemp was my man...he got ganked out of at least two contest...when he left seattle, he was thru

  • i dont know why they called him baby jordan for,his dunks reminded me more of a baby dominique

  • haha i love it, "miner... is .. finer"

  • holy shit, the sixers uniforms were awesome back then! oh the nineties, they had the best jerseys then

  • the jet!!! shame he didnt win

  • Wasnt Tim Perry in the contest that year

  • I really wanted Kenny Smith to win

  • Ceballos is lame

  • miner had the sickest dunks back in the day but he couldnt play ball lol thats why he jus disappeared without anyone noticing...

  • I remeber after the contest, Miner said he hoped this would lead to bigger and better thigs.....Hmmmm...

  • Whatever happened to Harold Miner? When did this guy retire? Did his announce his retirement? Did he get injured? It was all a mystery to me.

  • harold minner reterd because he wasnt that good he didnt get much playing time he wasent as good as people thought he would be, he was cut from the toronto raps during pre season work out and he just couldnt get on a team so he retird and now is a real insate agent or something like that, in case you woundering i read about, (i was bored)

  • clarence weatherspoon is perhaps the nbas greatest player. better than wilt easily better than jordan with his combination of power and later fattness... i mean finesse clarance was selected by the nba as "best player ever"

  • What the fuck are you talking about?

  • i don't know what SLUGGER123O is talking about!!!!!!!!

    clarance weatherspoon? best player ever?

    cmon!

  • I think that one was ironical

  • Word! C. Spoon. C. Spoon dunk. C. Spoon dominate the basketball world. C'mon how many players can you think of that averaged 11.5 points per game for their career? That's astounding, that will never be duplicated. That's why all of today's players are saying "I'm gonna be like Clarence".

  • Man even if the 90's was great, it was hard to fill shoes for those aging stars. Weren't people saying like Clarence Weatherspoon was like the 'new barkely' since Sir Charles left Philly in 1992? I did like spoon however.

  • "baby barkely" didn't have a bad career, he was a good player....but once allen iverson arrived in Philly, it was a wrap. He definately could have helped bring a title to Philly. But when Iverson is your point guard, u already know that nobody else is getting the ball ....LOL....

  • Barkley left LOOOONG before Iverson established himself in Philly. Long as in 3-4 year span. In fact Barkley initiated the trade because he finally saw how the sixers then had no intention in trying to build a team around him go the playoffs.

  • what do u mean "establish himself"? He was the #1 pick in the draft, rookie of the year, and led the team in points AND minutes.....it didn't take 3 or 4 years for him to be the franchise, more like 3 seconds for the ink to dry on his million dollar contract....

  • AHHH,....I'm going to say,..nooooooo! Barkely was long gone before the arrival of Iverson.

  • EVERYBODY IS TALKING ABOUT Clarence Weatherspoon!!!! The dunker in the vid.....read the convo b4 u tell somebody they wrong.....u looking stupid as hell.... lol

  • What the fuck are you talking about??!! ARe you sure your replying back to the right person, tool?

  • Why is everybody in the contest immitating Nique and Jordan?

  • Goes up high and scores!!

  • Miner is finer.

  • Baby jordan..what happened?..Jordan said there is no baby,mommy,daddy,jordan2,3 im the man!Just me!!!!

  • thats got to be the loudest intro music in the world that shit scard the fuck out of me what about ya'll

  • me too,crazy shit

  • which one was chris jackson(abdul-rauf but the one i saw still had a jackson jersey)

  • was dunking when i was 5'7... doin drop step windmills!

  • Remember when he was suppose Baby Jordan, what happend...

  • People figured out that all he could do was dunk and then he was done for. I was a big Minor fan though. I remember the Heat all shaved their head as a team.

  • learn to dunk even if you're 5'7:

    jumplikevince com

  • Gotta love those old Nuggets jerseys...they should go back to those.

  • Harold Miner was my favourite dunker. his dunk was very hard and strong.Love strong dunkers as Isiah Rider,H.Miner,Vince Carter,Chris Webber,Latrell Sprewell and so on. Dont forget this players!!

  • dave i gotta agree with ya except 4 latrell sprewell??? i just dont see where your going there he wasnt a flashy dunker and the last thing he was was a power dunker? however he is good @ designing rims 4 ur ride and choking head coaches

  • Latrell Sprewell was not a strong dunker? Back in his Golden state days? Well I remember that he was one of the most explosive fast break dunkers man. Watch the 97 all star game and you'll see what I mean

  • I remember Spree being pretty explosive early in his career.

  • Nvm J.R. Rider did in 1994..my bad.

  • And he'd win the '94 competition as well.

  • "Miner is finer." Great commentary guys... oy vey.

  • shit dunks

  • how could ceballos won with GAYish dunk? unbelievable.

  • can you send the VERTICAL WORKOUTS program to germany?

  • i hate ur music in the begining and the end

  • go fuck yourself
