@4thletta yeah its sucks how injuries can disrupt and end a athletes career early. As he is USC's all time leading scorer head could have been a NBA success.
This period in basketball is timeless, the players are legends, and its the most authentic showcase of athleticism I've seen..... the players now can never fill the shoes of these guys dunking, Harold Miner was the most under rated player and him dunking put his name on the map. Long live the legends!
@6UNLEASHED All around this time when i was younger i bleed basketball, because of guys like Minor, Kemp, Rider, Jordan. etc. now i could care less. Not sure if its cuz i got older or something has been lost since these days in the NBA
@jreese6969 After like 2001, I gave up on basketball and everything...the game changed, the players changed, the best period in basketball history, to me, is the 90's...had the best players in the world, players that still make me say WOW!
@jreese6969 They just lost the spirit of what great basketball was about...Pippen, Barkley, Jordan, Horace grant, Kemp, Kerry Kittles, larry johnson...goes on and on
@6UNLEASHED My favorite players were Nick Van Exel and Isiah Rider. but yeah if whatever it is that is missing was to ever come back i would be a fan again but for now I just have better things to do with my time.
I love kids and all, but I am so sick of All-Star weekend catering to people who are less than four feet tall. Nba looks like Disney anymore. I WANT BASKETBALL, NOT PROPS N GIMMICKS. Flashing lights every time somebody dunks. smh
people are so fucken jaded to dunking now! if this contest were to happen now all of the sports reporters would be calling for it to be taken away?!!?!?!? its so simple NBA go back to the rules you had in place when Jordan and Nique were murdering the dunk contests!!!!!!!! If the players choke they choke who cares..i hate all these do overs they get now and all the fucking props. and to all the sports "analysts" who say to do away with the dunk contest..a big FUCK YOU to all of yall!!!!!!!!!!!
@sstslide270out yea its really amazing. I wish his carreer was as good as his dunks. He was a good baller. but they ddin't really give him a chance sadly
dunkers23 I am 5 7 and I dunk nonstop. I m in my school's varsity team and my dunking intrigues everyone (the girls haha). It was truthfully really simple, I just used the nba workout over at | 50 inch vertical [dot] com | - I m sure you can probably do it too
They used to call harold minor ''baby jordan'' that was his nickname, this is all he basically did his biggest feat in the NBA just a jammer, but on the actual floor during game time , naw , nill he didnt play half the time and didnt render pretty much anything else, I heard he got released back to the minors in the end.
#VIDEOPOSTERID# I am an awesome 5'9 black dude and I am able to dunk over people. Anyone can easily do it, you just need to follow the right training program. I used the one from | 50 inch vertical [dot] com | but just about any training plan is good as long as they work which many do not
#VIDEOPOSTERID#, is 5 7, American and can dunk easily. Wtf you mean white guys can t jump? It s (just|simply|all)# about the training people do to get their vertical leap to be strong enough to dunk. For me, I just used the training program over at 50 inch vertical (dot) com
#VIDEOPOSTERID# shit, what else can I say. If you play basketball, you need to all know the right way to dunk, I just not long ago finished the coaching program at 50inch vertical[dot]com - I wish I did it sooner so I could've started dunking in my H.S basketball team (I'm just 5'8!)
MAN, that was Vinsanity before its tim !!! I remember Minor, one of the best dunker in the slam contest. He lacks the charisma of Carter but damned he could dunk !
He always had no playing time lol. 1992-1996 was his legacy. 9.6 points per game but the guy could fucking dunk. I wish he would have stayed in and was traded to a team that could work around him.
I agree. Much like the Celtics/lakers have alot of weapons now, he (Miner) would be a great asset to assist a franchise(or at least try to start one) but no one knew how to work his game into an offense. If you watch his highlights or were around back then to watch, he wasn't a fluke- he was a decent player. Looking back Miner now reminds me of a pre-Shannon Brown. I'm sure if given the chance he would've developed a decent long range shot much like Shannon has done.
He had no "J". No one can be 6'4" and make in the NBA with a Power Forwards range. He actually shot his 3 pointers fading away from the basket. The coolest thing about Harold Miners dunks was they were a combo of Jordon and Dominique. He jumped at Jordons angles but finished powerfully and windmilled like Nique. One of the NBA's all tine best dunkers. He just had a weak jump shot. Too bad
baby jordan would go on to a stellar career, in the process rewriting nearly all of his namesake's records, before succumbing to a fatal case of priapism
the better question is, are you serious? actually i was kidding about miner breaking jordan's records, but i'm pretty sure he died from complications of priapism....remember, the magic little pill is all fun and games until someone gets hurt
lol i didnt know 2 much about him, when i looked up the whole baby jordan thing i knew u were talkin shiit, and dude isn't dead, and definitely did not die for priapism
Kenny Smith was in quite a few dunk contests I see. He was very creative with his dunks. Clarence Weatherspoon surprised me in this one as well. Didn't know he could jump like that. Harold Miner was just a beast though. SO much power behind his dunks. He definitely deserved this win. Thanks for posting this.
Than you know what i mean...maybe every generation sticks to his own favourite time, but this hyped up bullshit i see nowadays is really emberassing to what the game used to be..For example take the the dunk contest this year..I mean...dancing nba players in the player introduction???...
man, ok, he is done, dont' keep kicking the man when he is not on the floor anymore. he was my favorite, i wish it worked out for him but it didnt'. But i watched him every game in miami, it was strange that they took him out of games when he was on fire at times. i never got it.
I feel your pain, my favorite player in the league growing up was Shawn Kemp, and to watch him fuck up his career...he was basically done by 30, when most stars still get a couple great years.
@TLGATZKE i feel u on that one...although i've been a laker fan all my life, kemp was my man...he got ganked out of at least two contest...when he left seattle, he was thru

clarence weatherspoon is perhaps the nbas greatest player. better than wilt easily better than jordan with his combination of power and later fattness... i mean finesse clarance was selected by the nba as "best player ever"
Word! C. Spoon. C. Spoon dunk. C. Spoon dominate the basketball world. C'mon how many players can you think of that averaged 11.5 points per game for their career? That's astounding, that will never be duplicated. That's why all of today's players are saying "I'm gonna be like Clarence".
Man even if the 90's was great, it was hard to fill shoes for those aging stars. Weren't people saying like Clarence Weatherspoon was like the 'new barkely' since Sir Charles left Philly in 1992? I did like spoon however.
"baby barkely" didn't have a bad career, he was a good player....but once allen iverson arrived in Philly, it was a wrap. He definately could have helped bring a title to Philly. But when Iverson is your point guard, u already know that nobody else is getting the ball ....LOL....
Barkley left LOOOONG before Iverson established himself in Philly. Long as in 3-4 year span. In fact Barkley initiated the trade because he finally saw how the sixers then had no intention in trying to build a team around him go the playoffs.
what do u mean "establish himself"? He was the #1 pick in the draft, rookie of the year, and led the team in points AND minutes.....it didn't take 3 or 4 years for him to be the franchise, more like 3 seconds for the ink to dry on his million dollar contract....

dave i gotta agree with ya except 4 latrell sprewell??? i just dont see where your going there he wasnt a flashy dunker and the last thing he was was a power dunker? however he is good @ designing rims 4 ur ride and choking head coaches
Latrell Sprewell was not a strong dunker? Back in his Golden state days? Well I remember that he was one of the most explosive fast break dunkers man. Watch the 97 all star game and you'll see what I mean
2007 A man named was on youtube watching some videos. He came across a chain letter and got very angry. He found were the guy lived and chopped of all his fingers so he could not type and then burned the wound with a cigarette lighter so he wouldn't die but be in great pain.
If you do not take your chain letter and stick it up your ass he will come chop off all your fingers.
1997 a girl called lauren was walikng in a forest and then a she just dissapeared no one ever found her untill 2000 when a yoing girl called Mary found her body and markings on her chest saying: I wasnt pretty enough" and now you have read this she will appear in your mirror saying your not pretty enough and kill you. by the way the girl called mary died shortly after.

dave i gotta agree with ya except 4 latrell sprewell??? i just dont see where your going there he wasnt a flashy dunker and the last thing he was was a power dunker? however he is good @ designing rims 4 ur ride and choking head coaches

Latrell Sprewell was not a strong dunker? Back in his Golden state days? Well I remember that he was one of the most explosive fast break dunkers man. Watch the 97 all star game and you'll see what I mean

I remember Spree being pretty explosive early in his career.
