@elec165 Comparing Garcia and Hendrix is ridiculous. They are completely different players. And to say a million people sound like Garcia is laughable. He is as unique and untouchable as either Hendrix or Clapton, but his genius is more subtle and requires more careful listening. I'll concede that Hendrix's recording of this particular song is the definitive version, but if I was stranded on a desert island and could only listen to one guitarist, I'd rather have Garcia every time.
@comicbookcolors you nailed it! I totally agree. Jerry is amazing on this song and every song. Why do people always compare or make a competition in music, instead of just enjoying.
garcia can't even touch hendrix's geniuis - you are trippin dude. Hendrix was an original - a million people sound like garcia. He was an average guitar player - that's all - average Ask any of the greats like clapton and he'lll tell you the same.
1989 rocked and rolled and then some! I had a chance to go to these shows, but unfortunately, I did the mature responsible thing and went to work, Bad choice huh! Orfnob you know what Ii'm talkin about don't you?

Playing a song written by Bob Dylan
And made famous by Jimi Hendrix.
