This game looks awesome my friend!I thought it was gonna be just a game with high altitude flights and with barely any action but I was so wrong!! I'm downloading it but I have 1 question:Are there any other flyable helicopters besides the Hokum?

hey man, did played it much time, but now it gives the error 0xc000001d. The onliest thing is, i really want play this game again, it is the most best and best looking simulator seen, , that was, and stay, i really want it play again, but everytime my pc gives that mannefaking error, i try so faking much 0,0 x

Man we got a noob here....you probably wont be interested in a simulator because its realistic. It will take you a day to learn how to even start the chopper up. Let alone the rest. This is made for people whop seriously want to get as close to really flying a combat aircraft for real. Ps u dont dodge missiles. they either dont track right or your chaff/flare countermeasures throw them off depending if its rader guided. Infra red or f.b.w. Just lettin you know now. This is a big boys game

I may be wrong, but I doubt that you knew much about the game before you played it or read the manual. I'm not trying to offend you or anything by saying this. My not understanding was perfectly normal for someone who hasn't experienced the game.

Does this support force feedback? and uhm how does it compare with LOMAC in terms of realism, 'cause LOMAC was a bit of a joke calling it a sim, didn't even support ff and was pleyable only with the keyboard.

FF is supported. Regarding the "sim level"? Well, let's just say, you won't find a more realistic helicopter simulator on the market. That goes for avionics as well.

Agreed. This is, by far, the best helicopter simulation that I've ever seen, and I've tried the vast majority of them, starting with Apache Longbow back in 95. The attention to detail is astounding.

Looking forward to the modules as well, especially the AH-64A and AC-130U.

No. Think of Black Shark as a "module". The next one coming up is the A-10c. Later we probably will get jets too, and other helicopters. Its an evolving series. A-10c is simply AMAZING as well. My promo will soon be released for it. :) So yeah, definetly get this sim.

It is a stand alone game but you will be introducing more aircraft. I love the idea so much that you are only introducing them as seperate games in a sense because the research for systyms and flight modeling is so high fidelity that it would take to long to do at once....you dont know how stoked i am that there is still a market for cutting edge flight simulators....there are still alot of us wanna be / or soon to be. fly boys out there.

no, they are 2 seat aircrafts and the lockon series has only single seat aircraft, but if you mod the human cockpit properties in the me>meinit.xml file, you can make some aircraft flyable(at least in Flaming Cliffs)

yah thats cool and all but i wish you can mod the cockpit so you have a F-14 cockpit for the F-14 and so on and so forth like the Microsoft Flight Sim series

Hmm.. simulator? Let's see, to play it properly you need to:

- buy a new pc

- learn russian

- learn modern air war tactics

- get a helicopter licence (it helps)

- buy a proper stick, pedals, HMD and head tracker

- buy the game This ain't a sim, it's a second life!

Don't worry about the activations, the game's been cracked already. If there was any one game that fits the "torrent to try, then buy to support" idea, this has to be it. Remember Microprose?

My pc was 3 years old when i first played Black Shark. I'm from norway, dont know ANY russian AT ALL.

Dont know modern tactics either, nor do i have any fancy joystick (FF 2 stick).

And i can enjoy it, plus crank out a bunch of movies,

I was joking of course, but I wanted to point out that the level of simulation is so extreme that it sure is the only PC sim right now that deserves (not requires) such "preparation" :D My FF2 stick is busted (I blame Falcon 4's turning mid air refuelling for that) so right now the box sits quietly next to my Falcon 4 and Richard Burns Rally boxes, in what I call my "don't touch cause it will byte you" section.

it has to be as extreme as it can be, hence simulator. then people can 'tone it down' to their desired level of both gameplay and graphical extent

lol, whats your graphics card? the HIGHEST frame rate ive ever gotten was 15fps, i get an average of 5(i have the Fraps frame rate counter), on Lockon-FC, and my computer is 2 years old. (dont have money, so was planning to get just the graphics card)

Well it's a simulation. Not an action game. There is not enough money to create a next gen engine that creates great explosions. Because there aren't that much people playing sims these days.

But I really think DCS did a great job with the black shark !!!! Looks great and very realistic

actually works out to like 18.... and it depends... you get 8 activations and like 10 decativations.

Plus, they've stated on more than one occcasions that obtaining additional activations if needed (with reasonable cause probably) will not likely be an issue.

Black Shark unfortunaly only supports one core, but having a quad core isnt a bad idea because future versions are going to support it.

you can only fly the ka-50 helicopter....for now....but i dont think its a downside considering how much modeling they did for it. .the company said they would later produce different planes into the game about 9 months apart which could be purchased from their site..in the near future they are looking at creating the A-10, and Apache Attack helicopter
