I am dissatisfied with the healthy cuisine of my culture. Greasy processed food introduced by a declining foreign empire is exactly what I need to get my taste buds going. And it has the added bonus of poisoning my body and mind!
It's a Chinese commercial using Korean culture meme from the hit Korean TV show Dae Jang Geum (2004) which is very famous all over the Asia and Middle East now.
They are promoting new KFC burger with Kimchi - traditional Korean side dish.
Hence the fitting commercial premise of famous Korean show. :)
@shakazulu44 no offence but getting races mixed up is pretty bad, its offensive, like if i were puerto rican and you called me mexican i would be uber mad...
@AlovinofKeys yea, i understand that but the video poster prolly cant differentiate between korean and chinese languages....but he did see the traditional korean outfits and kimchi in the video so thas y he posted it as "Korean" KFC commercial. So it was a legitimate mistake...not because he is ignorant
hahah its a play off of a korean drama but its a chinese ad, they used the korean idea cuz the burger has kimchee (pickled radish) on it which is a korean staple. :)
@kawaiichick91 They based it off from a Korean drama (forgot the name), but yeah, technically its a Chinese commerical, they're just spoofing Kdrama since the sandwich has kimchi in it..
@GDI109 Excuse me that I'm not only Korean AND Chinese BUT I also speak and write both. It bugs me that that people get Asians mixed up because we "all look the same." So maybe you should shut up because I got my Asian pride.
@Zaiyushi LOL you fucking idiot, you think they only think asians "look the same"? Everyone thats not one of them "looks the same" as far as they're concerned. I've met Americans that genuinely couldnt distinguish the difference between Sri Lankans and Turks. After all these are the people that have been attributed with such quotes as "...but i thought Europe was a country". Deal with it, to them you all have slanted eyes, eat fried rice, and say nothing but "ching chong" use it 2 your advantage
@GDI109 Excuse me? I'm sorry that I was just trying to make a point. If it was just a joke, I'd laugh and say whatever. But as it's a mistake, I was just pointing it out because kimchi IS what I eat every day, and Chinese IS what I speak every day. Stereotypes are funny but when it's an honest mistake, I just want to say hey, you're kinda wrong. So maybe instead of me being a fucking idiot, you're just a fucking asshole.
@pcd6music it is a korean commercial with a shitty chinese dub on top of it...which I don't undersatnd WHY they did that LOL. Also, KFC is complete shit compared to real traditional korean food
@zhen86 lol no its not. it is a chinese commercial that is a parody of this famous korean drama that involves cooking. (The heroine of the story is a good cook, and in this video he brings out the kfc burger ) plus the burger is made of kimchi.
Don't be confused. The actors are Chinese (speaking Chinese) and this CM made by Chinese for Chinese TV. but they wearing Korean traditional clothes. This is a parody commercial of famous Korean soap opera called "Dea Jang Kum"
among the chinese currency, i think only the new taiwan dollar is that small, NTD 69 is just USD 2.30... if that was RMB 69, it would still be a little over USD 10.80... that would be an expensive burger...
this is basically a KFC's Kimchi burger Commercial in Taiwan or China, but the mandarin sound Taiwanese to me. As the burger added kimchi, so they just recognise it as Korean style burger... LOL
