@Coops931 Ronaldo has lost speed, quickness, and change of direction. He is a more efficient goal scorer, but almost plays centre forward at times. I do not think Cristiano Ronaldo lost technical skill, but he cannot beat defenders with ease as he did at Manchester. He is less selfish, but when given the one on one when beating defenders is necessary, he is stopped frequently.

@schoolwell well then because you said it, it must be true then. I just dont understand how he can lose the ability to beat players as he's progressed throughout his career. If you said that he had lost the confidence to beat players, then your claim would seem more believable to me. I think he can still do the stuff he could do at united, mate just because he doesnt do maradona turns anymore...doesnt mean he's lost the ability to do them.

@Coops931 If you watch his games, it would be a irrefutable fact. I simply cannot force you to watch them. When Cristiano Ronaldo tries to beat defenders he is stopped frequently. I have no other piece of evidence to defend my claim. Just watch most games. He is not as fast or as quick as he was at Manchester. It is clear on video. If you cannot see that, that is simply your fault and opinion. There is no other way to prove my point.

@schoolwell it is also an irrefutable fact that he still beats defenders regardless of whether he does it less frequently. I dont think he has lost any pace or touch. They did some recent tests on him last year, measuring and testing his touch and pace, and they both heeded ridiculous results. You cannot say he has lost pace when there were tests done on his sprinting ability which showed that if he was in the race in the olympics in 2008 in which usain bolt came first, he would have come fourth

@Coops931 That is simply a lie. Usain Bolt runs under 10 seconds for the 100 meter. To come in fourth at the olympics, a sprinter would have to at least place a time of 10.2. No soccer player in history runs a 10.2 100 meter. The fastest player ran a 10.5, which is a considerable difference. I do not think Cristiano Ronaldo lost technical skill, simply pace. Compare videos of him at Manchester and Madrid. He appears to have lost speed. It is unprovable and matter of opinion, but is plausible.

Cristiano is a winger, defending at times is great no doubt. But he has a big ego, which will mean he will hate seeing Messi collecting all the major individual awards so he needs to get that ability he had to beat 2/3/4 players at once.. Once again hes an attacking winger, which means he needs to beat his men and score.

People need to understand since euro 2008, after the 07/08 season his ability to beat a man has decreased, he's a great goalscorer yes. But I prefer the old CR7.

@hy09786 can you explain as to why you think this, have you considered that may at madrid he is playing with players of such a calibre that he does not need to do it all himself everytime, and if benzema, higuain or kaka is running into space, why wouldnt he pass it to them if it means that they will have a great opportunity to score. I'd rather madrid score a heap of goals from ronaldo passing and setting up players then madrid score less goals because of ronaldo being selfish.

Explain to me how the hell you think ronaldo's ability to beat plays has decreased, how can somebody like ronaldo's skill level just decrease over the years if with each subsequent year he gains more experience and becomes a better player as a result of playing more games and working on shaping his skills?

Many players have decreased in their ability to beat players as they have gone further in their career - ronaldinho, henry, torres, kaka etc. Ronaldo goal wise is amazing no doubt, but he can not and remember this CAN NOT beat as many players as he used to. Yes he may be less selfish, yes he may pass, yes he may come back but that has nothing to do with the fact he has lost some ability to ease past players like he used to.

@hy09786 i believe since he went to madrid he's gotten bigger upper body sense which makes him more of a sharp turner. At Man Utd he was leaner and faster beating players at ease. But look at the leagues. In england Micah Richards runs at you, in spain they go 3 players on Ronaldo
